"The new cone gives smoother and more subtle sound." 'Hi Fi Choice magazine'. Recommended.

Powerful, three-way performance

Using two drive units dedicated entirely to bass with a separate one for mid-range, the Focal Aria 926 has bass power to spare. Combined with the large floorstanding cabinet, it gives the Aria 926 the chance to do full justice to powerful RnB, large orchestral or stadium rock music. If you're looking for a speaker that can effortlessly portray the entire music spectrum, then this is it.

Flax cones for a natural sound
Using Focal's unique Flax cone material, the 926 also sounds smooth and natural. The dedicated mid-range unit lets vocals stand out from the mix and reproduces them exactly as the producer intended.

TNF tweeters for smooth precision
Developing Focal's famous inverted style tweeter further, the TNF tweeters use aluminium and magnesium with Poron suspension for an exceptionally smooth yet detailed sound. Waveguides help create an accurate soundstage that makes it feel like the musicians are in the room.

Sleek curves for a room friendly style
Although the Aria 926 speakers stand over a metre tall, their smooth lines and luxury finish means they effortlessly blend with your decor. Ideally used in medium-sized rooms at a listening distance of around 3 metres, these speakers create a 'wall of sound'.

Front ported for flexible positioning
By placing the bass port at the front rather than the rear of the cabinet, the Aria 926s can be placed closer to the rear wall without losing out too much on sound quality. Focal have also provided adjustable plinths with these speakers. By attaching spikes, this lets you get exactly the right degree of 'tilt' for the most precise listening experience.

Highly recommended by the hi-fi press, these multi-award-winning speakers play it all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic soundstage Have had these speakers for a few months now & have been umming & ahhing over whether these were the right speakers for me. Obviously with the current covid situation a lot of people's hi fi choices have been based on their own research & reviews online, potential buyers being unable to try out for themselves these items. I chose the gloss black finish & it must be said that the pictures online do not do them justice. They are truly things of beauty. I like the idea that you are able to adjust the height of the spikes on their plinths so that the tweeters can be set to your ideal listening position. What I found truly infuriating was just how difficult to remove the dust caps from the binding posts to enable the use of banana plugs. In the end I was able to very carefully drill them out. Absolutely ridiculous. These are very big, power hungry speakers & not for small rooms any potential buyers be aware that pairing them with a suitable amp is especially important. Focal suggest an amp from 40w upwards. I would say something much more powerful would be better. I have them paired with a Roksan Caspian amp & that seems to drive the speakers nicely. The Focals do take a lot of running in. For a long time I was doubting whether my outlay-they are not cheap-- would prove to be rewarded with a sound that compliment their sexy look. I also purchased Tellurium black 2 speaker cable which again would need its own time to burn in. Well the sound now is pretty wonderful. The sound is lovely & clear. The mid range is very revealing & the bass is clear & precise & not overpowering. Maybe if you are looking for heavy bass for rap, garage, grime music these are not for you. My preferred musical leanings are along the blues, classic rock, metal genres with the odd soundtrack thrown in for good measure. The Focals were definitely a little fussy (read French) at first but are now rocking!!!! Yes. I think that these are the speakers for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Focal Aria 926 (Black) First: the speakers arrived on the date and at the time Richer Sounds said they would which always impresses. Unboxed the speakers looked magnificent; finished in gloss black sitting atop seriously impressive industrial weight spiked base plates. The Focal Arias replace my Monitor Audio Studio SE s on two marble slabs and are linked to my Cambridge Azur 851a amp via Audioquest Rocket 11 speaker cable. I play my music from a laptop through a range of Audioquest cabling through a Cambridge Audio Dacmagic and on via Audioquest XLR balanced cable to the Azur amp. My taste in music is mainly classical and jazz. I gave the Focals a 24 hour burn in as suggested in the instruction booklet and then my wife and I proceeded to audition them. My wife’s hearing is sensationally keen so she took charge of focusing the sound stage of the Focals. During this process it became evident to us both that the Focals image with astonishing accuracy offering good front to back depth and pin pointed instruments most convincingly. Comparisons with the Monitor Audios were inevitable at this stage, the Focals had greater weight, greater focus and delivered a more exciting and involving musical experience. Over a lengthier time period it became obvious that the Focals delivered timbre and ambience particularly well, so venues and engineering were easy to detect. Jazz music had greater heft and timing seemed “livelier”. To sum up I would say, above all, the Focals convince and please in equal measure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A flawless master piece of engineering After a chance encounter with a Stockport store demo , I had fallen for the rich range of sound these offered. They are the philharmonic to my orchestra. Paired with a Focal Done 5.1 and Klipsch 120.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Sound, Poor Quality Control Had to return the first pair of Aria 926s speakers to my dealer as there where loose strings of flax hanging from the midbass driver. Also on examining the general condition of the speaker cabinets there was a long mark down the front edge of one of the cabinets, around 18 inches long. Looks like a poorly finished varnish issue that has not been picked up by quality control. I had contacted my supplier and had to return the speakers at my expense for another pair. My new pair of Aria 926s are now home and up and running. Really happy with the sound of the arias but on unboxing I was yet again faced with unsightly flax strings from one of the midbass drivers. There was even more then the last pair of arias I returned. I have now carefully removed the strings. I was a little concerned about removing the strings, being so near the glue seam of the rubber surround. Is it normal practice for Focal to distribute their speakers in this condition? Surely as a customer I shouldn't have to deal with this. As I said I really do love the sound of the arias but would think twice about purchasing Focal due to their obvious Quality control issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Focal aria 926 Extremely satisfied with my purchase, the best all round speaker I have had the pleasure of owning. Aesthetically pleasing on the eye, superbly finished with excellent craftsmanship. Brings both cinema and musical experiences to life, with an exceptional focus on the finer details, aiding to provide an all round pleasurable listening experience. Having owned many a high end speaker system in the past, I would not hesitate to recommend the Focal Aria 926 to anyone who is looking for that next level clarity and sound experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Detailed sound from elegant black After 3 demonstration visits to Richer Sounds Cambridge I finally bought a pair of piano black Focal Aria 926 speakers. I originally I went into hear some Wharfdale Evo 4.4 speakers because they have ribbon tweeters and I had read a great review about them but I thought other loudspeakers sounded better. Eventually, I was advised by one of the staff at Richer Sounds to return for a third visit to hear the Focal Aria 926 and I was surprised at the improvement in sound detail. The bass response was far superior and I realised I could hear detail in some familiar CDs that I had never heard before - particularly in the Swingle Singer's version of "No more I-love-yous". I have sadly blown-up a pair of Quad electrostatic loudspeakers and a pair of B&W 683 S2. When I first heard the electrostatic speakers demonstrated back in 1988 I was astonished at the quality and again with the B&W speakers in 2013 but I suspect the Focal Aria 926s comfortably beat their predecessors.
