"HEOS Proves to be an exciting new Product by Denon." 'Home Cinema Choice - Best Buy'. HEOS 3, 5, 7, Link and Amp tested.

Wireless sound around your home

All HEOS (by Denon) music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Should your signal be weak in a certain part of your home, then the HEOS Extend can be used to boost the signal quality. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. Should you prefer to stick with a wired connection, then you can make use of the Ethernet socket that's standard on all HEOS speaker systems.

Effortless control from your smartphone or tablet
Once you've set up the HEOS systems, controlling them is simple with the free HEOS app. This user-friendly app uses three main tabs that feature at all times - Rooms, Music and Now Playing. Rooms allows individual control of the music being played in a particular room. You can see what music is playing where, from anywhere around your home. For an instant 'party mode' simply 'pinch' the zones together and get up to eight speaker zones, all playing the same music at once. The Music tab selects the streaming music service or stored music either on your device or a remote device connected via the DLNA network. This means you should be able to access pretty much all the digitally stored music available in your home. Now playing gives you artist, title and track timer information plus lets you control the master volume and also view the music queue.

Now with Bluetooth
The latest version of the HEOS Link now comes with the added bonus of built-in Bluetooth. This means that, even if you don't take advantage of the HEOS multi-room room system, you can get quick and easy Bluetooth streaming from any smartphone or tablet.

Endlessly compatible - including Hi Res playback
A great benefit of choosing the HEOS system is its class-leading compatibility. In terms of music streaming services, it's compatible with Spotify Connect (requires Spotify Premium account), Rhapsody, Pandora, TuneIn and other services offering DRM-free tracks. Supported music files include MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC and WAV, making it compatible with just about all stored music libraries. The new HS2 model is now also compatible with High Resolution music files in FLAC, WAV and ALAC formats.

Denon Hi-Fi sound quality
As you'd expect from this top quality hi-fi brand, HEOS use quality components and expert design to give the HEOS Link a natural and detailed sound that suits all types of music. Should you require a little more oomph than your current system can muster, then you can add a subwoofer via the RCA sub output.

Connect up your way
Whatever hi-fi you may have, when it comes to connecting up, HEOS has it covered. If you've a digital amp or AV receiver then you can make use of the optical or coaxial digital connections. More traditional systems are served by the RCA phono outputs. If you already use a remote controlled Denon hi-fi system then you should be able to take advantage of the IR output. Once connected, you'll be able to take control of your system's power and input sources via the HEOS app. In addition to this, the HEOS Link also comes with a 12V trigger output making it suitable for use with many types of multi-room system accessories.

Added connectivity from USB, optical and twin aux
In addition to wireless connectivity, the HEOS Link HS2 also offers USB, optical and twin AUX input connections. Plug in your USB media stick and listen to stored music anywhere on the network! The optical digital, RCA phono and 3.5mm AUX inputs are ideal for adding other local sources, such as your TV to the main speaker zone.

Bring your own existing hi-fi to the HEOS party, with the HEOS Link HS2.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and links perfectly. Perfect addition to my HEOS system and has allowed me to add HEOS to an existing Receiver in my office.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but room for improvement in app I bought the HS2 link as a means of playing Amazon HD through my amp at high Res as Amazon will only allow 320kbps to a Chromecast audio. The unit itself is great for my use. It is very well built as you'd expect from Denon and has a number of digital outputs which meant I could bypass the internal DAC and use the one in my amp. I can't comment on the sound quality of the internal DAC in the HS2 for analogue purposes as I don't use it for this purpose. What I can say, is it is the cheapest by half in its category and has expandable options across the house which could be very useful for some people. The app itself is very good but it does have drawbacks which made me drop a star. You can use Tidal and Amazon HD which is great as it allows high Res play back, when the app works it is great. This is where the issue starts.... The app has a tendancy to restart itself and try to find the HS2 again. This is an inconvenience rather than a deal breaker but since Tidal and Amazon are built into the app (you can't stream full Res from the main Tidal or Amazon music app) it means you lose your place if you're browsing. Tidal functionality seems better than Amazon functionality but I do believe Denon intend to upgrade the Amazon app to show 'my music' in the future which is a must IMO. All in all though this is a great product for the price and I'd deffo recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So good I bought a second one. Bought one of these a few months ago as an open box clearance item and couldn't be happier with it. Sound quality is superb and I've found the App. easy to navigate and glitch free. So when I decided to add a streaming music system in my holiday house this was the obvious choice. Richer Sounds were about £100 cheaper than buying it out in Spain so a quick phone call was made to check stock in my local branch. They only had warehouse stock but offered to deliver it next day at no extra charge which was a win win for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and supports Amazon HD music I bought this to stream music into my Qutest DAC as it also now supports Amazon HD music in full hires mode. It was pretty easy to set-up so I’ve now also mounted my personal music folder on my NAS as one of the sources. The app works reasonably well and seems stable so far. I hope Denon also works on improving the Amazon HD functionality to make it easier to set up playlists and see what resolution the music is in. You can see the resolution once the track is playing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great hardware - dreadful app! Bought this online in March '18. Initially worked OK, but more recently I've been experiencing problems with the HEOS app - which is the only way to operate the device - as it hardly ever recognises my NAS (my main music source). Frankly, I now regard this as money well wasted!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Heos Bought a few weeks back with the home cinema soundbar. I am really inpressed with the Heos system and with the link box we have extended the wireless streaming music to the wired ceiling speakers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Linking I cannot get the Link to actually link via the internet. Still no logical reaosn why not, the ap loads well and the speakers work, but I specifically purchased the Link to multi room music and that at the monent does not seem to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy route to streaming I bought this HEOS Link to add streaming services and multi-room capability to my existing Cyrus main system. I had looked at a Cyrus only solution but this would be around £1000 just for a dedicated streamer and then there's the wireless speakers and routing on top of that. So I took an educated punt with the Heos Link. On an A/B comparison of using the HEOS to stream a hi-res FLAC track from Tidal and playing that same track from a CD both through the Cyrus pre/power amp & Dynaudio speakers, there was little to compare in quality. The CD had a little more body and a fuller and more tangible mid range, but these were small changes in quality between the two. In some instances Tidal/HEOS actually offered a better presentation of the source than the CD which sometimes sounded muffled and dull (which for a Cyrus system is saying something). The multi-room set up is quick and easy and the quality is very good through a HEOS 5 speaker in the kitchen. So I would heartily recommend this route for any owners perfectly happy with their existing HiFi wanting to, easily and relatively cheaply, get into streaming.
