Full-size sound from a slim-line case, the Marantz NR1510 is the room-friendly face of home cinema.

50% height

If you like the idea of top quality cinema sound but are put off by the bulk of typical AV receivers, then the Marantz NR1510 is perfect for you. Standing just 104mm tall, it's around half the height (or less) of many of its rivals. This not only makes it easier on the eye but also allows it to be slotted in where many other AV receivers simply won't fit.

100% sound quality
Slim in size but most definitely 'full fat' in terms of sound, the NR1510 doesn't compromise on sound. The Marantz NR1510 is equipped with an advanced 32-bit DSP processing system that supports a wide range of sound formats, including Hi-Res Audio, right up to DSD 5.6. Discrete, high current power output devices provide a sound that's punchy, low in distortion and perfectly balanced around all your speakers. The Pure Direct feature aims to give you the cleanest sound quality by bypassing non-essential circuits. Thanks to MDAX2 you can even restore the quality of compressed MP3 audio – giving greater ‘life’ and ‘depth’ of sound.

Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
Controlling a sophisticated AV receiver like this can be baffling for some members of the family, which is why Marantz have made it compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply download the HEOS Home Entertainment Skill app and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform functions such as volume and source selection. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.

HEOS built-in - for the finest multi-room audio
HEOS multi-room music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. With HEOS already built-in, the NR1510 is ready to go as a single 'zone' without any further adaptors.

Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.

Support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG
Ideal for pairing with your quality video sources, the NR1510 is compatible with an extensive range of formats. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, Dolby, HLG and HDCP 2.2, which means you can play UHD Blu-ray discs and stream UltraHD video in the highest quality. The HDMI sockets allow 4K pass-through, for hassle free switching and viewing without the receiver needing to be on.

Connect more – including a turntable
As well as the six HDMI inputs, the NR1510 has a wide range of connectivity. Both optical and coaxial digital inputs are ideal for connecting older devices or upgrading the sound from a compatible CD/Network player. Three analogue inputs are perfect for Hi-Fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input ideal for plugging in a turntable.

Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, DLNA and built-in wi-fi for the complete networking experience
With both Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity it's easy to connect up all your smartphones, tablets and compatible lap/desktops and stream music wirelessly. The NR1510 also comes with wi-fi, Internet radio and DLNA. Simply connect to your home network via Ethernet or wi-fi and access thousands of Internet radio sites via vTuner as well as subscription services such as Spotify Connect Premium Spotify account required). DLNA compatibility lets you stream from other sources such as your laptop or NAS drive.

Packed with features, not bulk, the Marantz NR1510 delivers without dominating your room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent receiver with lots of great features I was looking to replace a 10-year old AV receiver and preferably wanted a slimline form factor. The Marantz NR1510 ticked that box for me but also has some great features, some of which I had not expected. First of all it's performing really well in my 5.1 system and sounds great with Blu-Rays as well as streaming through the Netflix app on my TV. Since it has ARC, I am able to route the audio from my TV to my surround speakers. I really like that I can Airplay straight to the receiver so in no time I can have music playing from my phone or my laptop. I don't even have to turn the receiver on, it just comes on automatically (and shuts down on its own too) and automatically switches to the correct HDMI input. With my old receiver I'd have to turn it on, find the correct HDMI input and then start playing music, but with this I don't have to worry about that. It also doesn't run very warm at all. My previous receiver was a heat monster so that's a great upgrade for me. I also really like using the app which allows me to change volume and input if I'm not close to my remote, which I don't really have to use much now as my phone can do it all. I've also been playing music through my front two channels and it sounds great. I've tried it through streaming via Spotify, Tidal, hi-res tracks via a USB stick as well as a CD player and it has all sounded good to me. It comes with Heos capability which uses an app and that contains lots of options for streaming. The only quirk of Heos is that you can't actually fast forward or seek forward or backwards in a track, which is a little odd. On the whole I find it much quicker to Airplay but it's great to have options. I've also set up a network drive that allows me to play my library of files from my CD collection and that has worked well so far. Once set up (which was easy), the Marantz gets out of the way and just lets me get to my video or audio content, whether it's live TV, Blu-Rays or video and audio streaming services, and sounds great while it does it, which is really what AV receivers should do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great functionality, size and connectivity Bought recently to replace a faulty 10-year old Onkyo AVR. So happy that I updated to this new unit as it has more HDMI inputs, a nice, clean, simple remote layout and the unit is half-height compared to many AVRs so saves space under the TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING - AGAIN We needed a new amplifier as the 5 year old one was starting to get a little noisy (the fan) I called the store and explained the situation. The staff member listened to what I had to say and asked me some questions. It transpired that I only needed a new amp and not a new amp, 5 speakers and a subwoofer ... because they had given me such fabulous advice when we first bought the sound system ! The amp arrived before it was expected and I have tested it thoroughly this weekend watching the Glastonbury sets on BBC iPlayer. Great kit, Great service, Knowledgable and friendly advice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb small of kit Bought this only two weeks ago and all done over the phone. Explained what I wanted and needed to sales assistant and without doubt delivered exactly what I requested. Straight out of the box - and with the very easy speaker calibration - it delivers an amazing sound with some minor tweaks but little else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features, good sound I chose the Marantz to be at the heart of my audio system with CD, phono and tuner functions. It was easy to set up using the supplied microphone on a stand as well as my television set. So far I’ve continued to use the system with just two Mordaunt Short 902l speakers, but I may eventually switch to using the surround sound capability it has. I haven’t got far yet with exploring it’s other features such as internet radio although I did find very clear sound on Irish radio when I tried that. My main use of the Marantz so far has been listening to music on Classic FM.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Deal Overall good for the price. Only issues i would say is i have to turn on off and on again if switching to bluetooth/bluray/sky. A bit annoying but not the end of the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, tiny box First ever Stereo replacement due to the Onyo being faulty! I've always like the size of the Marantz NR1510 and am impressed with the quality of the sound produced, I would even go so far as to say better than the Onkyo. Ease of use and App to control the device are good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the features you might need! I bought this a couple of weeks ago to accompany my new Q Acoustics 3050 speakers and the combination is great. It has all the connections I need for my TV, Apple TV and turntable connected as follows - (a) RCA cable to analog input for turntable (not phono as it has a built in amp) (b) digital coaxial for TV (older model without ARC spport) and (c) HDMI to TV (and not amp). I'm especially loving the airplay and spotify connect feature. Also, the height is perfect as it fits in my TV cabinet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home theater advice Ash is amazing he dealt with all my questions. Very patience and provided me with a quotation. Answered all my after sales questions. At no point did he get frustrated. He is a great asset to richer sounds. I think he needs a reward for employee of the month if not year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, great service I bought a Marantz NR1510 amp/receiver, and the Canton Movie 75 speaker system and I am very pleased with both. I had a couple of set up questions which Ben and Alex answered simply and accurately for me. Great customer service, which is a rare find nowadays. Richer Sounds will now be my "One stop shop" for all future purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the smaller size, sounds excellent I decided to stick with a Marantz receiver after having very good experience with my old stereo receiver. I've tried a few different amps with my Tannoy Eclipse 3 speakers and I prefer the Marantz sound by a large margin. I wanted a fairly simple 5.1 receiver and the slim profile appealed to me. For the features you get, sure there are a lot cheaper receivers out there, but this is wonderfully well made and sounds superb. Despite being simple to set up, it has plenty of advanced features. Overall I'm delighted with the receiver and the service from Richer Sounds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, punchy and detailed. I bought this recently and am extremely pleased with its rich and detailed acoustic performance, compact size and ease of use. The set up was child’s play using the included microphone and tripod. I have also found the Marantz app most convenient and effective. Excellent. Thank you

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great AV Receiver The Marantz NR1510 AV Receiver is a very sleek looking piece of kit, very easy to initially set up, and works well with the top box and TV. I found the manual that I down loaded from the web to be quite frustrating and enormous and got fed up with jumping backward and forwards. It’s quite an expensive item but has many features that I am still experimenting with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time. This is the first av amp I've brought having been recommended by Tom at the Southampton store. Having discussed initially soundbar got redirected on this piece of equipment and boy it's good as everything is fed through this. And even the wife can operate it. Nice one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small in stature, big in sound Bought this to replace a full height Yamaha av receiver to allow a lower wide friendly tv unit. I was expecting a compromise on sound quality but to my ears sounds as good if not better. A doddle to install and set up with plenty of inputs.
Date published: 2020-01-18
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of features in a small package There are two reasons why I chose this unit (other than the price, which was very competitive) - One, it was compact enough to fit into my existing rack; Two, I have an existing extremely good Hi-Fi setup so I didn't need front speakers. I'm still tweaking the setup to get the best out of it, but in general it's very easy to setup the system using the setup assistant and the (supplied) microphone. Sound quality is great, although I'm still getting used to the different soundscape that the surround provides. The only issue I'm having at present is getting it to talk to my NAS server and play music files. It can see some folders but not all, and even within folders, it can see some subfolders but not all. It's probably some network setting that I need to adjust but it is proving a bit of an irritation at the moment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Digital problem solver! After we replaced our Samsung TV, we lost the ability to control the tv volume through the hifi amp as we were using fibre optic spdif output and the new tv did not have an IR transmitter. Decided to upgrade the amp instead of going for a sound bar and extremely pleased that we did. The Marantz is easy to set up, sounds great with our mordaunt short aviano 2’s and can be controlled via the HDMI link from the tv. Now we just need to add some satellite speakers and a sub to benefit from 5.1 surround.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, good sounding, and sensible AV receiver It's smaller than the old stereo amplifier it was replacing. It's sensibly designed, easy to set up, and sounds good. The automatic room correction works surprisingly well, smoothing out some lumps and bumps from our old floor-standing speakers, and making the new and rather different centre speaker fit in seamlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Needed this to run with my Roksan K3. All the audio outputs are a nightmare, but the guys at Oxford store, especially Kaz, brilliant at explaining how this works and set up. It makes films sound amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems a god bit of kit so far I was looking for a more slimline media receiver to replace my old Onkyo system. Also wanted some more modern features like voice command integration. This ticks all the boxes. Also my sound output has improved loads I suddenly have a lot more bass than I previously had which is good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good connectivity Replaced older Yamaha amp with this one as we upgraded to sky q and 4k blu ray. This one has correct uhd HDMI ports and sounds brilliant. The handshake with sky q isn't so brilliant. Not sure if it's any manufacturers fault. Just have to remember to switch sky q on last and off first if blu ray has been played. If not sky Q needs turning off at plug and rebooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound & features are up to expectations,. As a 79 year old I have worked through the manual and have now, after a few tweaks, got the AV RCVR to function to my expectations. R S rep. Superb recommendation.
