”An entertaining just-add-speakers stereo streaming system.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2020 award-winner.

A top quality amp that happens to be a first-rate streamer, too

At the heart of the PM7000N is a top quality amplifier that’s powerful enough for larger rooms but detailed enough for all music lovers. This is matched by a versatile network streamer that covers a huge range of options. These include Bluetooth, wi-fi, AirPlay 2, Internet radio, HEOS, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer plus much more. You can even operate the amp with voice control – via Alexa, Google and Siri.

Putting quality sound first
Despite all its features, the PM7000N amplifier uses quality components for a graceful sound. This high-end Marantz amp uses a discrete current feedback design with Marantz's own HDAM SA3 and SA2 amplifier modules. Usually reserved for much more expensive models, these op-amps use surface-mount metal-film resistors for greater temperature stability. The upshot is a cleaner, less distorted sound, whatever the volume.

Hi-Res music compatible
The quality sound continues with the choice of internal DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). Using the highly rated Asahi-kasei AK4490EQ chipset, the PM7000N is able to stream Hi-Res 192kHz/24 bit signals through all its digital inputs. Connect via the USB and the PM7000N also decodes DSD files up to 5.6MHz.

Room-filling power
Using a large toroidal power transformer and high value output capacitors, the Marantz PM7000N produces an effortless 60 watts per channel. This is ample for larger rooms and is ideal for getting the best from even the most inefficient speakers. If you feel your current system isn’t making the most of your speakers, then try this and hear just what they’re capable of.

Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, DLNA and built-in wi-fi for the complete networking experience
With both Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity, it's easy to connect all your smartphones, tablets and compatible lap/desktops and stream music wirelessly. The PM7000N also comes with wi-fi, Internet radio and DLNA. Simply connect to your home network via Ethernet or wi-fi and access thousands of Internet radio sites via vTuner as well as subscription services such as Spotify Connect (Premium Spotify account required), Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Prime Music. DLNA compatibility lets you stream from other sources such as your laptop or NAS drive.

Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
For the latest in smart home tech, Marantz have made the PM7000N compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply download the HEOS Home Entertainment Skill app and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform functions such as volume and source selection. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.

HEOS built-in - for the finest multi-room audio
HEOS multi-room music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. With HEOS already built-in, the PM7000N is ready to go as a single 'zone' without any further adaptors.

Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.

Connect it all – including a turntable
For the highest quality network streaming, the PM7000N features a USB input – perfect for your computer, laptop or hard drive. For other digital sources, there are two optical and one coaxial inlets. Three analogue inputs are perfect for Hi-Fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input ideal for plugging in a turntable.

For the highest quality in network streaming, just add speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does it all and superbly. Lockdown has helped focus my thoughts on how best to improve my life. As well as my main HI-Fi consisting of very high end kit in my main listening room I also had a Teac micro Hi-Fi in the sitting room where my day to day activities take place. The Teac from Richer Sounds and Cambridge Audio S20 speakers had served admirably but I wanted to be able to stream my Amazon Music HD content and also the media on my NAS drive. Well after a detailed talk over the telephone with Ben from the Brighton Store, he guided my thoughts as to the suitability of the Marantz PM7000N into my usage scenario. Well a deal was done with the proviso of return or replacement if the choice did not work out. Delivery was speedy the next day! Set up was so simple and I opted for wired ethernet connection to bypass bandwith buffering from wi-fi drop outs. My Synology NAS drive was immediately recognized as was my P.C. Amazon Music HD was signed into from the HEOS app and I was up and running. USB playback is first rate with DSD Files and other Hi-Res formats. Well I now saw just how good my cheap as chips Cambridge Audio S20 speakers really were, fantastic, but naturraly lacking deep bass due to their minute size. Headphone listening through my venerable AKG Sextett K240's gave the true verdict on sound quality, being very hard to drive for most output stages at 600 ohms. Outstanding quality and after listening now for a week I have had no drop outs and gapless playback is so nice after my main set up streamer using DTS Play-Fi which does not support gapless playback, this is intensly annoying when streaming classical music ad opera. The HEOS app is really good as I was quite worried about this aspect after reading negative reviews on the Google Play store. No problems at all and the app is supported on Amazon Fire devices, Android and Apple platforms. Remote control is easy to use but all plastic. I am so pleased with my purchase that I now intend upgrading the speakers considerably just so I can truly experience great performance without the need for headphones. My music tastes are primarily 60-70' rock, opera, classical, vocal singer / songwriter and listening to BBC Radio 3 and Planet Rock. This really is a superb all in one device and certainly does not disgrace itself when compared to my main set up consisting of Exposure pre and power amplifiers and Dynaudio Contour speakers via an Audiolab streamer. Believe the hype this really is gem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super crisp detail & huge soundstage Really pleased with my purchase. It sounds great through my Revel Concerta 2 F35 floorstanders I purchased from Richer Sounds the month before. It produces a lovely, warm & rich sound, absolutely crystal clear detailing & huge soundstage. I also think the HEOS app is really user friendly, to extent I don't bother with the remote. I access my wav music library (connected via the sub port) & Amazon Music HD via the app with ease. I'm yet to connect my record deck via the Phono input (saving that one for the Xmas break). If I had any negatives (& they're small), they'd be that the bass thrown out by the amp surprisingly seems a slightly thinner than my old Denon M39 amp, but suppose I'm still running it in & so may change over time. Only other slight gripe is that bass & treble don't seem to be able to be changed via the remote. Both negatives are very minor though & overall still think it deserves the 5 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit but.... I'm really please with the amp/streamer. I'll focus on why I've only given it 4 stars as I'm sure there will be plenty of reviews describing all great features etc I wanted to be able to play Tidal Master (MQA) tracks but could only manage it through what feels like a work around. Setting up the Tidal streamer in the amp is straight forward but it only plays Master tracks at Hifi quality. My work around is to connect my phone (which supports AptX) via Bluetooth and play the Tidal Master tracks via this method. The quality of the output via a pair of Q Acoustics Concept 20s on their stands is superb. I did consider looking to return the amp but haven't identified an alternative in the same price bracket that would deliver what I'm after. One annoying 'feature' of the Bluetooth route is the volume seems to be difficult to control. A slight increase on the phone volume results in a large increase in the volume coming out of the speakers. I guess I'll just have to put up with this. Happy to be educated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looks, amazing sound I bought this two weeks ago to replace my Arcam Solo Mini. The difference is night and day when driving my Dynaudio Audience 8 speakers. The Marantz has totally brought music to life, and the sound quality is now some of the best I have ever heard. I am spending a lot of time re-listening to my music collection and hearing it again in a different way. The Alexa and Heos functionality is great, so it can be operated totally hands-free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic amp at a great price I bought this amp two weeks ago and was going to buy the Marantz PM 6007. I was persuaded to upgrade to this one and so glad i did. It has some great featurse like bluetooth and streaming which are great but the sound with my new Bowers and Wilkins 603 S2 is amazing. It is detailed with a warmth about it that you cant help but be immersed into the music. I love it and will be adding the CD player to it very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, quality piece of kit, fantastic sound! I was looking for a quality set up which could wirelessly play Spotify/ iTunes/Radio in the kitchen with a decent sound and easy to use. The Marantz really impressed for the money!! The Marantz has more connectivity than I would ever need, it is great to have options for future use. The Marantz uses the Heos app which links all your music streaming services, phone music and allows control of attached devices to your amp and is very simple to use. Set up of the amp is very straightforward, plug in speakers, power up and it’s music in minutes!! That was one of the great features, I was expecting hours of tuning and tweaking to set up! Control of amp via app and remote control seem more intuitive and more modern than using the ‘on unit’ controls, which seem a little dated, even though it has a neat OLED display screen. Quality-wise, the dials for source and volume have a lovely, quality, solid feel about them. This however is let down by the ‘play/pause’ button which feels like it’s come from a Sony Walkman’ from the 80’s! For how much you’d actually use this button it is probably not going to be an issue. Overall it seems very well built, feels like you are getting ‘something solid’ for your money. Sound-I’ve got the amp connected to a pair of Dali Opticon 2’s. I’m hearing depth to music I’ve not had in a home system before. Sound is very sharp, detailed and sounds very controlled. The volume level of 0-100, in my case is more much more than I would ever need, even at around 40, there’s is no loss of sound quality and feels like it would perform right to the top limit. Overall I’m really impressed with the system setup and equally as impressed, if not, more so, with the guys at the Newcastle store. I initially met Anis, his enthusiasm, knowledge and ability to explain in simple terms was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, we tested three different set ups and spent well over an hour listening and comparing, there’s was no sense of rush, I really felt I was being advised what was ‘right for me’ rather than being sold what was best for the business! I then met Euan who completed the process, again with bags of enthusiasm and knowledge. Delivery, was, as promised, the very next day, less than 24hrs! Communication was exceptional regarding this and the other items in our order, keeping us upto date. So, in summery, if you’re after a quality sounding, well built piece of kit with ‘What Hi Fi’ five star/Best Buy status with the superior service of the guys at Richer sounds you need this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stereo Amp Really enjoying this new Stereo Amp - I bought a Marantz CD player to pair with it. Also have the TV sound through it to the KEF speakers - all sounding very good. Has internet Radio (but NOT DAB radio) and NO surround sound options. Has phono inputs if you want to add a record deck. Overall very pleased and appreciated the help and guidance given by Tom, Paul and the team at the Bath store - thanks guys!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All singing/dancing great-sounding amp Really happy with the Marantz PM7000N. It covers the basics par excellence - better than ever sound coming out of CDs and records - and hooks up to TV, phones (via HEOS), internet radio, and speakers in rooms in the house. It also looks great! Strongly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job nicely Well, I was replacing my Arcam Alpha 9 and 9p combo. Quite a task after 26 years. Gadgets or sound? Glad to say this does both. Ok, so I have to turn it half way up instead if a third, to get very loud, but so what...plenty spare. Blue tooth is great, so I now send tv sound to this amp, and the amp has a subwoofer out which of course the Arcam did not have. Happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchasing Marantz kit during lockdown I knew roughly what I wanted but was assisted greatly by the Riches team from their Stockport store. I wanted silver spec which after some weeks was not forthcoming due to Covid delays and the guys sorted a spec change and delivered the amp the following day. Great service and a fabulous streaming amp with a wow sound

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jack of all trades! Went by the online reviews by What Hi-fi and several others and needless to say I am far from disappointed! This unit replaces an Cambridge CXR 120. I had initial doubts about moving away from Cambridge but Marantz does not disappoint. It does Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music, NAS drive, Phono/Vinyl and connects to my TV and sounds amazing with it all. What else in all honesty could you ask for?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music, isn't just sound... I purchased a Marantz PM7000N, I required a single device amp and player, paired with Q Acoustics 3050i with such solid reviews over many years, the magnetic dust cover a great thought. Great service from the audiophile staff, many thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well worth the upgrade I absolutely love this amp, an upgrade from my 16 year old Nad and what an upgrade ! The sound is warm smooth and refined even on low volume It sounds good. The built in phone amp gives a much needed improvement to the old add on phono amp I had been using giving much less sibilance than before. The HEOS app as other reviewers have mentioned can be a little temperamental at times and drop out now and again, I understand that a firmware update is due later in June which should improve stability. The choice of internet radio stations is astounding, pick the genre of music that you like and a list of stations comes up, many of which play just music with no advertising or presenters. Play from a phone or tablet and to me it sounds almost as good as a cd, there are a number of streaming services available, simply select whichever you want and log in with your details. I had been thinking about buying this amp since before lockdown and when I saw the drop in price I cast any doubts aside and went for it, Best Buy in ages and I really shouldn’t have thought twice. I would have given 5 stars if the app was more reliable and if the usb socket had been in the front and not hidden away at the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features, amazing sound I bought the PM7000N with a pair of Dali Oberon 5 two weeks ago. The sound is amazing and it fills our living room. I stream music from Spotify and from my NAS. I tested also TIDAL from HEOS app and it takes it to another level. You can hear the clarity immediately. I have also given input from my TV for movies but I'm not very impressed. Well, it's not an AV receiver. I'm definitely happy with it, it's exactly what I expected and I'm planning to buy a nice turntable for it in the future. Thank you guys in the telesales team for the help and support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic bit of kit I have a Rega Elexr but the inconvenience is with it being all analogue, all of a sudden to play it I'm turning on three other components as I'm now streaming more. So decided to consolidate the lot and bought the Marantz PM7005N as it does everything I need, TV to optical in, BluRay player to analogue in, and then streaming Flac/Alac via Asset picked up on the Heos app. Spotify is good too, Heos app could be better but the sound of the PM7005N put a smile on my face right from the start and sounds right at home hooked up to my Dynaudio Emit M10s and QA 3070s sub. Timing and attack of this machine is spot on, the soundstage is expansive with crisp highs and weighty bass. If you're looking for a unit that does a bit of everything really well, then look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great super-intergrated I very much wanted an all in one box for the front room, the kind of thing where you can just add speakers. This really hits the mark, and has all the streaming services I use too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit Bought this to replace my old Denon amp. This wifi streaming amp has all the features I want as well as great sound. I can now continue to enjoy my vinyl & CD collection as well as stream from my PC & use services such as Spotify. Well worth the upgrade & should keep me happily listening for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marantz PM7000N - astounding! I saw recommendations for this online and took a chance on it. So glad I did. The Marantz quality we expect bit with the added feature of streaming capability which makes online music services such as Tidal sing! A bit pricey but alongside a quality turntable and some speakers it is all you will need!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Streaming Amplifier Bought PM7000N about 2 weeks ago at London's City branch. The sound is excellent! Way better than NAD M10 (more than twice the price of the PM7000N) and much more powerful, despite M10's 100W (on the paper) It has it's drawbacks which you don;t expect from Amp released in 2nd half of 2019: a. Bluetooth supports only low level SBC protocol (no APTX/HD/LL or LDAC) and per documentation b.Wi-Fi doesn't supports AC (per manual, supported: 802.11a/b/g/n) c. The HEOS App, is far from robustness of BlueSound App But despite these drawbacks, I am still want to give this Amplifier a full 5 Stars for it's ease of use and really great sound, even I didn't properly "broke-it-in". All you need to complement it, is a good pair of speakers. I want to thank Joe from the City branch for his valuable help with audition, guidance and a great service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from brilliant connectivity options but... got the new PM7000N few weeks back (to replace the MCR603) as wanted wireless connectivity bluetooth, etc. it is very simple to set up and delivers great quality music but seems to be quite slow with responce time to process commands/respond to remote control. i can only assume it is due to software being new and hopefully being updated at some point.... but yes, the speed at which the connections options change and how quickly it can go through commands can be a bit annoying!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound... I bought this to as an upgrade to the MC-R610 (a great piece of kit in its own right) but it's difficult to compare the sound quality since I upgraded my speakers as well. Pairing the PM7000N with Dali Opticon 6's has given a crisper, puncher sound with tremendous distinction of treble and an open sound stage. Definitely worth the expenditure for me. My only reservations relate to the associated software. The free HEOS app for mobile devices controls the PM7000N. Direct streaming of Amazon UHD files to the PM7000N in FLAC format is impressive. However, the integrated Amazon interface in the HEOS app is dreadful. You can't access your own library or playlists that the you might have in your Amazon app for iOS, Mac OS or Windows. The app interface for TIDAL is better but I have been told that the PM7000N doesn't render Tidal’s MQA as bit perfect to match the quality of FLAC. Further, HEOS doesn’t support Apple Music and playing UHD music wirelessly from a Mac via AirPlay is limited to CD quality. The other alternative is to stream Amazon Music from your smart TV via the optical link when the interface and audio quality is ideal but your TV has to be on throughout. So it is difficult to access hi-res music for one reason or another from streaming services. A HEOS app for desktop on Mac OS or Windows with a proper integration of the Amazon Music app is needed to improve the user experience. Despite these reservations, I am very pleased with my new set-up.
