”Naim takes everything that was great about the Mu-so and makes it even better.” ’T3’ ‘Platinum Award – Winner 2019’

One box does it all

Just like its predecessor, the Mu-so 2nd Generation is for music lovers who don’t want to compromise. Packed into this stylish wireless speaker is a world-class streamer, powerful speaker system, punchy processing, flexible connectivity and multiroom ability. Match this to Naim’s class-leading sound quality and you have, quite simply, one of the best wireless speaker systems going.

Inimitable Naim sound
With over four decades of high-end audio experience, Naim can rightly claim to be one of the very best hi-fi companies in the world. Fitted to Bentley motor cars, premium yachts and, not to mention some of the finest studio and home systems, Naim has a pedigree like no other. Renowned for their famous blend of pace, rhythm and timing, the Naim sound is truly additive and totally unique.

Musical performer
The 2nd generation Mu-so features upgraded speakers, co-developed with its audio partner, Focal. Combined with the powerful new multi-core processor, these deliver a higher level of sonic precision – letting you hear detail that gets lost with other speakers.

Improved bass
Re-engineering the space inside the cabinet frees up an extra 13% volume. This extra space helps give the bass response extra room to ‘breathe’, meaning it sounds deeper and more powerful.

World-class music streamer
At the heart of the Mu-so is Naim’s award-winning music-streaming platform. Developed by 25 engineers, over three years and featured in their flagship, £20,000 ND555 streamer, nothing competes for ease of use and quality. Simply download the Naim app and take control of all your music streaming needs.

Your choice of streaming
Whichever way you stream your music, the Mu-so delivers. With direct access to Spotify Connect (Premium Spotify account required), Tidal and thousands of Internet radio stations you can enjoy near limitless music at the touch of a preset. Chromecast is built-in, seamlessly linking to hundreds of supporting apps, such as Deezer, Qobuz and SoundCloud. If you prefer to stream within your own network, UPnP (Universal Plug n’ Play) is also supported – right up to High Resolution 32 bit/384 kHz files.

AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth
Stream music from your Apple device or iTunes with AirPlay 2 and you’ll not only hear your music library or favourite music service but also take advantage of Apple’s multiroom system. Alternatively, for a quick and easy link for anyone in the room, link a smartphone by Bluetooth and share the music instantly.

Multiroom made easy
As well as Apple’s AirPlay 2, the Mu-so offers two other ways to go multiroom. Either go Google or, better still, use the Naim app to link up all your compatible Naim products. The slick Naim app then lets you listen to the same music all around your home or different music in different rooms. The latest Mu-so is also Roon Ready for enhanced music searching.

Connect your TV up with HDMI ARC
New to the latest Mu-so is an HDMI ARC input. This is the ideal connection for a TV, making the Mu-so a very superior sound-base. Now you can get a huge upgrade to your TV’s sound as well as music playback, without the need for separate soundbar and wireless speaker.

Inputs to make the Mu-so your music hub
As well as HDMI, the Mu-so also comes with USB, optical digital and 3.5mm analogue inputs. If you still have a CD player, you can connect this via optical or analogue. If you’re a vinyl fan then why not plug in a turntable (via phono pre-amp) to the 3.5mm analogue input. For quick access to music files on a media device, the USB input is ideal.

The style standard setter – made better
Enhancements to the iconic control centre now include a proximity sensor that lights up the display as your hand approaches. The touch pad now features direct access to favourite playlists, radio stations, Spotify resume and multi-room functionality. The premium aluminium casing is now finished in a darker, burnished grey and there’s a wider choice of optional grilles colours – making it look even more attractive in your home.

Don’t compromise on sound, style or features. With the Naim Mu-so 2nd Generation you get it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets expectations perfectly It's important to be realistic about expectations and have a clear idea of how it will be used. We use it as a TV speaker and casual music player in our family living area. The limitations in sound quality compared to conventional hi-fi are outweighed by the superb functionality, convenience and ease of use in a family household setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply amazing Day 3 of my new Mu-so and I can’t stop listening to it. The clarity and crispness of the music is staggering. I am discovering details in my favourite songs that I didn’t know were there and that my other speakers can’t reproduce. A massively solid, slick and imposing speaker that looks classy and sounds unlike anything I have heard. Excellent job Naim team!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lovely piece of kit Had the Mu-so 2 for a month now and I'm incredibly impressed by its performance for a one box system. Sound is excellent, its a joy to come downstairs to in the morning

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful sound This is a really wonderful piece of equipment. The sound is lovely and fills the room at least as well as my old seperates. Unfortunately it's let down by the remote control which is cheap and cheerful and often unresponsive (especially if compared with the thing of beauty which is the Ruark R5 remote control!), and the Naim app which frequently hangs. With a reputation for such high quality (and pricey) products I'm really surprised that they can't stretch to a decent remote and that they haven't invested properly in the app to support the hardware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Naim Muso 2 Reviewed and researched this for a while and finally took the plunge earlier this month. From the moment you unbox it you know you are dealing with quality. Every time we switch it on and play it my wife and I look at each other and shake our head in disbelief at the sound quality. Absolutely delighted with it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Spoilt By The App & Network Issues I went out on a financial limb to try and get a 1 box solution to my Hi-Fi being in storage pending house alterations (likely to be over a year) I chose the Mu-so in the hope of being able to enjoy it as a Soundbar, ‘Bluetooth speaker’ and streaming from iTunes, Tidal etc. Initially unable to set it up via the App I had to phone Tech Support and we got it to work using an Ethernet connection. After removing the wire, though, it was back to the App. A week later and I’m still having issues with slow wake-up and the App not seeing the Mu-so, seeing it but dropping the connection and general difficulties. Initially the TV, Sky box and Apple TV4K were supplying their signals via a TOSLINK from the TV. This worked but I’ve had to swap it out for HDMI ARC to get wake and sleep functionality and bypass the TV’s own speakers. That said the Mu-so light is supposed to go off with any HDMI ARC input but does not always. All these little niggles detract from what ought to be a seamless experience of sitting down to enjoy premium sounds. The sonic performance is as good as you can expect from one box of this size I suppose. The soundstage is imprecise when the speakers can’t be that far apart but the range of audible frequencies is good. It’s fairly midrange forward and, to my ears, real bass only makes an appearance at higher volumes. Don’t expect the pipes to thrum with Tocata and Fuge or the bass on The The’s Helpline Operator to make your chest resonate unless you crank it up to at least mid volume. Maybe it will grow on me the more I live with it but so far, for me, not living up to expectations. Worth mentioning that I bought it on trust of the brand and reviews, as I’m locked down at home just now, so did not get to audition it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic service We first bought the Muso about 4 years ago when we moved home. It was a fantastic device and our son is still thrilled and delighted to have inherited it from his mum and I - so we could make way for this new version. So, having really enjoyed 4 years of listening to the first generation for both TV and Music - I can glad to report that this "second generation" one still sounds fantastic. It certainly goes louder than the first and we just love it. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply awesome..! As an owner of a 1st generation Mu-so Qb I was expecting a quality piece of kit and that’s what I got and much much more - the sound quality is simply awesome as was the service I received from Ed at Richer sounds.
