Featuring individually isolated shelves, the Norstone Bergen 2 gives your hi-fi the support it needs to sound its best.

INDIVIDUALLY ISOLATED SHELVES FOR SUPERIOR SOUND QUALITY

Until now, a four shelf hi-fi rack with individually isolated shelves would have cost a substantial amount of money. But not anymore! Each shelf, including the base shelf has its own set of dynamically balanced spikes and counter spikes for ideal mechanical isolation. Isolating each shelf has two main positive effects. Firstly, vibrations from, for example, an amplifier, won't be transmitted to more sensitive hi-fi components. Equally, vibrations from other sources within the room such as footfall, speakers, fish tank pumps and so on, will be suppressed, too.

With vibrations successfully suppressed, you'll benefit from superior sound. Subtle detail comes to the fore and the bass sounds tighter and more focused. If you have a non-sprung turntable you should also find it more immune to mistracking caused by heavy footfall in the room.

Finished in a smart gloss black with black shelves, the Norstone Bergen 2 is the ideal match for most hi-fi separates. With four shelves, of differing heights, it's also flexible enough to accept many system variations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, and easy to assemble. Bought this piece of equipment as the first part of my new music system. Really surprised by the weight of it, it's reassuringly heavy, and it's solid unlike some racks i've had in the past. It's very simple to assemble, and easy to add or remove a shelf (the shelves are all independent, they sit on small mounts).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great racks for growing systems I have a large system comprising multiple power amplifiers, a preamplifier, phono stage, DAC and multiple source components including two turntables, streaming and CD transports and even a cassette deck. I needed to house the system in a pair of side-by-side racks in the limited space within a bay window. These were the only racks I could fund under a thousand pounds that would fit in the space and take the considerable weight of the components. A lot of the cheaper racks on the market would have been suitable were it not for the fact that they position the strongest, thickest shelf on the top and thus the bottom can't be used for heavy amps. A daft decision if you ask me, and due to their construction it's not possible to swap shelves around. The norstone racks however are fully modular so you can put the shelves in any order you desire. The spiked leg system does a great job isolating each component from vibration and keeping the structure in place once the weight of the components is placed upon it. The single back leg can interfere with the sockets on deeper components but it makes levelling the structure a great deal easier. I only have two criticisms. The shelves could do with a cable management hole or two, perhaps in each of the rear corners. Also as others have pointed out there isn't enough thread on the base spikes to add a lock nut for levelling. If you adjust the spikes to level the rack it is somewhat wobbly until you add weight. Once it's weighed down with a system it is perfectly stable. The issue can be fixed by cutting some small pieces of M8 threaded bar, but I didn't bother and the rack is perfectly stable and level. It's worth keeping in mind though if your floor is significantly out of level and a significant amount of adjustment is required. All in all though a well packaged, well priced, easy to assemble and stylish rack able to handle larger, heavier systems while taking up little space. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First HiFi stand After changing around the lounge and wall mounting my TV I was left with nowhere to house my AV equipment. I eventually decided on the Bergen 2 stand by Norstone. I couldn’t be more happier. It compliments my equipment and is well built. You just have to be careful not to lean on the rear corners and it’s only supported in the middle of the shelves. I adapted the feet allowing me more adjustment to get the stand level. It was easy to put together, I found it easier to connect the bottom equipment before installing the next shelve and working my way up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top tip This rack is a bargain and I've only used three of the four shelves. It's well made and easy to assemble. Top tip: Because there is a bit of slack in the drilled holes, if you tighten the legs before positioning each shelf, alignment can be very tricky. So, don't tighten the legs until you have the shelf in position, then tighten the legs. Simple and sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wee HiFi rack that doesn't break the bank! I bought this last week to properly store my HiFi separates, in order to properly isolate them from each other and surrounding vibrations. It arrived extremely promptly, was easy to assemble and set up and looks great in my living room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid! Good HiFi equipment stand and solid with it, esp for the price which, unusually for such a product, is less than the equipment itself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Norstone - Norstone Bergen 2 Nice rack i needed a deep unit to house my amplifier. The only drawback was one of the threaded bars had no threads, having read previous reviews I'd already purchased some from screwfix..Its a solid unit when built so its best to install each Hi Fi component as you build it up.
