Get a top brand Hi-Fi amp that’s feature-packed, with the Pioneer A-10AE.

Direct Energy Design concept amp for punchy sound

The heart of this amp is based around Pioneer’s Direct Energy Design concept. This uses high efficiency design and components to minimise distortion and maximise efficiency. Optimising the design layout produces a smoother, more detailed sound, with less ‘grain’ and distortion. With 30 watts per channel, there’s plenty of power on tap for all but the largest rooms.

Choose your tone
Bass and treble controls adjust the frequency extremes to suit your music, room acoustics and personal taste. For low level listening, Loudness boosts the bass and top end for a more dynamic and lifelike sound at low volume levels – perfect for night time listening. If it’s just the best sound, pure and simple, you’re after, the Direct button bypasses all the tone controls for the purest and lowest distortion signal possible.

Connect it all – including your turntable
With four line level inputs, you can connect a lot to the A-10AE. CD player, TV, games console, music streamer and any other source with an AUX output easily connects. This accommodating amp also features an input for a turntable. The MM phono input is perfect for connecting your turntable, without needing to rely on an auxiliary phono pre-amp box.

High quality finish for sound and style
Utilising a 1.6mm thick, rigid chassis, the A10AE is solidly built. Along with the Anti-Standing Wave Insulator, this quality construction helps the A-10AE fend off sound degrading vibrations. Finished to Pioneer’s usual high standards, the A-10AE has a sleek style and smooth operating controls.

Move up to a real Hi-Fi experience, with the Pioneer A-10AE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No nonsense amp 10E Replacement for my Denon amp which bit the dust after 20 +years. Wanted an amp which had no nonsense extras. Power my phono, cd and headphones. Workers a treat with enough Watts to power up my lounge/dining room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good budget amp for starters I needed a replacement amp for my old Cambridge Audio 540 which had developed an intermittent fault causing it to cut out abruptly. Cost of repair sadly was too much. The 540 had been relegated to my second system a couple of years ago which I use to check out old vinyl after I've cleaned it. I had a maximum budget of £200 for the replacement amp and initially looked at another Cambridge Audio or Onkyo amp in that price range. The Pioneer amp became a contender when the price was reduced by a Flash sale which meant I got the amp and a 6 year warranty for under £170. The Pioneer is a perfectly decent amp with no bells or whistles. If you want an MP3, USB or Bluetooth input this isn't the amp for you but if you're on a limited budget and just want to dust off and play your old vinyl (and why wouldn't you) it'll do the job and sound great. If you've got a little more cash I'd suggest stretching to something a bit more refined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sounding entry level amplifier. I bought this amp to replace the Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 that I have in my studio upstairs. I had a hunch that this amp is almost identical to the Onkyo A-9110, which I have downstairs. If you look at the features, the only differences are that the Onkyo has a remote control and a dedicated subwoofer output, the Pioneer doesn't have these. Comparing the spec sheets in the back of the user manuals, everything looks the same. The chassis is even the same size and made of the same 1.6mm thick material. Onkyo actually owns Pioneer's home electronics division so I reckon these amps are very much the same. When I got the Pioneer hooked up to the same speakers I was running with the Cambridge Audio amp, I could immediately hear a difference in sound quality. To my ears, the Pioneer sounds much richer and more musical. It seems to be projecting the low end more convincingly and the highs and a little sweeter. This is all subjective of course but to me it sounds appreciably better. The speakers I am using are small Denon (by Mission) 6 ohm units. If you like a bright, detailed, forward sound, this amp would be a good choice for you. It does have tone controls though so you can tune the sound to your tastes. I'm using it in direct mode though as I really like the sound it produces when bypassing the tone controls. Just like the Onkyo A-9110, I'd say it's a great entry level amp for the money.
