”All in all, this is another excellent Pro-Ject Debut turntable and one you need to hear.”– ‘What Hi-Fi’ – 5 Star review.

Enhanced tracking with an S-shaped tonearm

Retro-styled but anything but retro sounding, the new S-shaped tonearm sets this deck apart from other Debut models. The one piece, aluminium design gives enhanced tracking through its design. It also features VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle). VTA can be very handy if you decide to fit a new, deeper, cartridge or even a thicker mat. By being able to positon the tonearm perfectly level, you get the least distorted and most accurate sound possible.

Dedicated cartridge
As well as the unique tonearm, this audiophile turntable also comes with a special cartridge. Newly developed, the Pro-Ject Pick-IT 25 uses highly conductive silver-plated spools in its motor. Higher conductivity means more detail and is just one of the reasons this turntable leads its class in sound quality.

A solid base
Providing the perfect base, the Debut III S Audiophile uses a dense, MDF plinth. This is available in gloss black or white and now sports a smart new logo. To reduce distortion and effectively isolate the player, the deck uses top quality, hybrid aluminium/TPE feet.

Debut power
One thing that hasn’t changed is the tried and tested Debut motor and platter assembly. The smooth-running AC motor is near silent and drives the sturdy steel platter via a sub-platter - so no worries about the belt slipping off here!

Detachable phono lead
Supplied with a good quality Connect-IT E interconnect cable, the Debut III S Audiophile makes the most of the turntables performance. Being detachable, though, this can always be upgraded if you want to maximise the full potential of this impressive deck.

Get a new spin on your treasured vinyl, with the Project Debut III S Audiophile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish I bought this turntable about 3 weeks ago after months of research into the best one for my needs. With the great help from Chris at Richer Sounds I decided on the Project Debut III S Audiophile. I wanted sound quality over any gimmicks; the pro-ject strips away the extras to concentrate on the pure sound. I was considering a turntable with a USB; with a push button to convert from 33 1/3 to 45rpm; with an arm that automatically lifts off the album when played etc etc. What I decided on was the objective for all turntables in my opinion - one that gave pure full sound quality. I went to the store with my old album (I hadn't heard it being played on a turntable for around 30 years), Chris had set up the turntable for my after a telephone call the previous day, I sat on the sofa and almost cried! It sounded amazing!! I am now revisiting all my albums and enjoying them all. I urge you to do the same with this turntable, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing turntable for the price. I was bought the debut III S Audiophile for my birthday and I’m astounded at the quality of sound and build of this turntable. Playing my old and new vinyl on it is a total joy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound at a good price First time back to vinyl for many years and if you have an amp with phono input, this is a great way to do it. All parts come in the box. Setting up can be a bit slow if you're not sure what you're doing, like me. Still haven't got the anti skate weight to stay on right but it seems to work fine without it. Worth giving it a listen if you're on the search for something new.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really great turntable I've had this turntable a few weeks now and I'm really happy with it. I was upgrading from an Audio Technica AT-LP120 and the differences are night and day. I did like the cartridge installed but have swapped to a Ortofon 2M Red that I already owned. I've not owned many TTs so am mainly basing this as a comparison to the alp-120. The sound is much more detailed and doesn't lack the oomph and clarity that the 120 does. It also has a smaller form factor and takes up less space on the table and looks a lot better. The downsides are that changing to 45rpm is a faff, having to remove the platter and moving the belt, and I've strangely had a lot more static on this turntable. I've put my audio technica slip mat on and it's made it a bit better. I don't know how it compares to the debut carbon but I prefer the S shaped tone arm. I'm really happy with it though and I am sure I made the right decision when upgrading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great looks fantastic sound my 80,s faithful fisher was on its last legs so needed a new turntable. was on a buget and weighed up pros and cons of various turntables. the project debut 3 s audiophile seemed to meet all my needs. i rang york branch who said they had them in stock and placed one behind counter ready for me to pick up. true to their word it was ready with an offer to carry to car if needed. anyway got home and set up pretty quickly (i changed cartridge to my prefered nagaoka) nothing against ortofon just love nagaokas! immediately on dropping stylus onto raising sand by plant and krauss i new id chosen well! beautiful warm sound, great sound stage ,just fantastic. this turntable is just brilliant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound, looks great I bought my turntable on Boxing Day 2018 and have been playing through my record collection each day since, and the sound is that good it feels like I am listening to my albums and 45 inches for the first time as they sound so different to how I remember the first time I played them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Early days, but seems very good. Unboxed and played for the first time tonight. Helpful online video tutorials make it easy to understand the features of this deck and how to get up and running. It's clear its a well made and fine tuned bit of kit. I'll have to wait for my audio expert friends to listen and feedback on their profession opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent After 30 years I thought it was time to go back to a turntable. My wife bought me an ion turntable for Christmas. Although the sound was good, it was missing that something. After 6 months, and agreeing we were back into the vinyl and needed something better. I. Looked at and listened to a few including the Denon 300 and Technica. The Denon sound was good, and you could hear the difference instantly over the Ion. I liked the technica with all its functions, but it was very plastic. My wife suggested a Project. We reviewed a few and decided on the debut 111. It was the newest at the time. The head Ortofon was off a more expensive . Unpacking and putting together is a doddle. There are the weights to connect, which was easy even with my fiddly fingers. Once built it looks good, almost a technical work of art. Our first record to play was Gaurdians of the Galaxy sound track. This was our test Lp in store. On the ion it as tinny. On the Denon it lacked some clarity. On the Project we were gobsmacked. There is clarity and depth. 10cc "not in love" blew us away. Of course it depends on your sound setup, we have mission speakers and a denon ceol n4. With a a Project you have to understand they are not all singing and dancing. The arm isnt automatic, there is a switch to stop and start, you have to adjust the belt for 45 and 33. These were functions I initially wanted. But the trade off is the sound experience and excellent build quality. The lowering of the arm is part of the vinyl experience. In summary, we really pleased with the purchase, and although it was more than we were going to spend, it was worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific turntable. Even better service. Terrific turntable. Even better service. I had a (distortion) problem with the original one which was delivered. Called up the store. Salesman personally jumped into a tacit the next day and delivered a new one and installed it for me. Perfect.
