”There’s a reason Sonos is so dominant in this sector.”’What Hi-Fi?’ 2019 award-winner.

Sonos for your existing hi-fi or active speakers

If you’re looking for the Sonos experience but want to keep your existing hi-fi, home cinema or active speakers, then this is the device for you. Connect to your current system’s AUX input and turn it into a fully-fledged Sonos streamer.

Stream your vinyl, CD and more across your Sonos system
Another advantage with the Sonos Port is the ability to play your existing media, back through a connected Sonos system. Vinyl records, CDs or other media can now be played throughout your home – using the wireless Sonos system.

Power up – automatically
Featuring a 12V trigger, connect to compatible amps and AV receivers* and you’ll get auto power on/off. Just press play in the app or ask out loud and your system powers up automatically. *Amp or AV receiver requires a 12V trigger input.

Top quality sound
Just as you’d expect from this multi-award-winning brand, the sound quality is first-class. Utilising a top quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor), the Sonos Port has the smooth, spacious and well-balanced sound that has now become a Sonos signature.

Sonos streaming
Use the superb Sonos app to play all your music in all your rooms. Compatible with not just the music stored on your device but also over 80 streaming services, the Sonos app is the only music app you need. Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, Tidal, Napster and Deezer are just a handful of the most popular services supported.

The Sonos system
Sonos gets better when you add more speakers. Play a movie in your living room, a podcast in the kitchen or the same music across all your Sonos devices – flexibility is key. The latest Sonos components link via your home wi-fi but for very best results, linking one component to an Ethernet connection will allow you to take advantage of the famous Sonos 'Mesh' system.

Strength through numbers
The more components you add, the stronger the dedicated wireless mesh becomes. Best of all, because it runs independently from your wi-fi, the reliability and strength of the signal is unaffected by wi-fi dropouts.

AirPlay 2 control
If you’d prefer to use Apple’s AirPlay instead of the Sonos app, then that’s not a problem with the Port. AirPlay connects via your home’s wi-fi and lets you effortless stream audio from your Apple Mac, iPhone, iPod and other many other compatible devices.

Built for continuous improvement
With its smooth good looks, the Sonos Port is designed to look every bit as good in years to come as it does now. Yet Sonos have taken the idea of design longevity further by engineering in the ability to update the electronics through future software updates.

Compatible with voice control devices
Simply connect to an Amazon Echo or Google Assistant device (such as the Sonos One) or phono and the Sonos Port becomes part of your voice controlled smart home system.

Link up to Sonos, with the versatile Sonos Port.

Works with Sonos
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple set up, works great but still expensive. Bought the product to link my Riga P1 turntable to my Sonos set up and it works perfect. It feels like a quality product and the packaging etc is really well done, and it include teh cables to connect the Port to the turntable which is useful. The set up with the app is simple and I was up and running in less than 15 mins although I did have use google to get advice on best compression settings. So a great product but I understand it this is the cheapest method to link a turntable to a Sonus systems and so it feels expensive and that there could be a cheaper option.

On advice I bought the Sonos Port and within minutes had easily linked my music system to Sonos and now can play my turntable in area of the house . Sound Quality is excellent and simple to set up and link to my exiting equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sonos Port for surround sound I wanted something to connect my Denon AVR into my Sonos to avoid having another speaker in a room already covered. After discussing my requirements with Tony at Notts RS, and having previously thought I’d need to go down the Sonos amp route, Tony suggested this.... I’m properly chuffed, not only cheaper in cost, but it does exactly what I want and connected up with ease to my existing system. There’s even the ability to plug in our new turn table, so all in all win win...very happy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lots of issues with software updates I've been a Sonos customer for a long time but find that too often when I just want to play music I've having to install software upgrades. The process is slow and sometimes needs lots of troubleshooting. Nice product but poor software support> I'm afraid I won't buy Sonos again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality service from Richer Sounds A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to get my vinyl record collection back into use. I had a Sonos system (sound bar and two Sonos 1 speakers) which I used via an iPad for TV and radio, but how to get my records and CD's playing on the same system? Was that even possible? And in the current climate, I couldn't visit a store either, this would all have to be done online. I sent a tentative email enquiry to Richer Sounds trying my best to explain what I had and what it was I wanted to achieve. I received a phone call from Dylan, the York store manager. He talked me through my current system, explained my options, made some recommendations and then sent an email with hyperlinks to the products he was recommending (and he recommended more than one type in each item category). It must have been effective as I fully understood what I needed to buy to get to my end goal! I checked each item online, read the detailed description of each, made my choices and then emailed Dylan when I was ready to order. We did the order over the phone, my products were here 48 hours later, and were up and running an hour after that. I am now listening to my vinyl records (some are 40 years old) on my quality turntable, channelled through my Sonos Port and through my Sonos speakers. The system was simple to connect together, it all plays beautifully via the Sonos app, and it takes up a fraction of the space my old 1990's stack system did. Modern Hi-Fi systems, digital music, streaming, Bluetooth, wireless, compatibility etc can be a minefield and it's easy to get it wrong - the expert advice from Richer Sounds prevented that and I can't recommend them highly enough. Their technical advice is accurate, easy to follow and bang-up-to-date, their customer service is exceptional and their delivery perfect. I am about to order another two Sonos 1 speakers and I'll be going back to Richer Sounds for those too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sonos Port bought to replace ZP80 This was purchased to upgrade my system to allow S2 control and compatibility with Harmony Elite remotes. Well all that works as expected and stability of a stereo pair of Sonos Play 1s that lost their music stream each time the microwave was used has been improved significantly as they have not yet lost their connection. Sound quality is different but not an improvement but as the store is shut due to Covid I have not had chance to try a different cable. What has surprised me is the sound quality from the supplied cables isn't that bad and I am comparing with a Russ Andrews Crystal Cu. Initially the sound was a little sibilant with some shrillness on female voices but this has now gone and I want to experiment with some cables. As an initial comparison with ZP80 the new Port is clearer but the ZP80 has a bigger sound
