A modern day replacement of the stack system
As for many buyers, this replaces a selection of separates that used to provide our music at home. For what it is (a CD/Radio/Speaker), it is very good but it does not completely fill the gap of high quality speakers in opposite corners of the room. I presently have a problem with mine in that it simply will not connect with my Blue Aura PG-1 bluetooth turntable. Technics' telephone support was less than helpful and I have since escalated this problem with them. I await a reply. If I get satisfaction then it deserves another star, but if not then I would remove 3 stars.

Not as good as separate mini hifi & speakers
I currently have a Yamaha mini hifi & Scandyna minipod speakers. Doing a side-by-side sound test there is no comparison, the Technics just cannot compete. If you are looking for a one-box hifi the Technics is impressive, but do try separate hifi & speakers first.

Very good sound quality and simple to use
I have had this model for a couple of weeks now and very pleased. Richer Sounds had a great deal on offer - get the smaller SC-C30 for free! So i have two streaming devices in the house now. As I said sound quality is very good - the immediate set up was mostly easier than I expected but they do highlight any internet connection issues you may have but it seems to have settled down now. I think you really need to download the full instruction manual to set up all the capabilities to maximise the potential of the machines. But overall I'm very pleased. Delivered next day by courier without extra charge. The telephone ordering process with my local Richer Sounds branch (Eton) was very straightforward. I took advantage of the 6 months interest free scheme and I paid for the warranty, which is repaid is completely unused after 6 years.

No real competition
Wanted to replace Onkyo kitchen system with unit that still had CD player. Tried Yamaha with separate (MusicCast speakers) - did not provide what I needed as you cannot control volume from base unit and also wifi and bluetooth connectivity was poor. This all in one unit sounds FANTASTIC and looks the absolute business. Bit expensive but excellent.
