Great picture
I purchased the Panasonic DMPBDT180 to replace an old PS3 blu ray but didn’t want to spend a fortune as it’s not massively used. I was sceptical as cheap/budget players are usually rubbish but I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s early days but the picture is great. The only negative thing is the noise of the disc drive is noticeable but only when loading up. That’s the reason I gave it 4 stars but other than that, a good cheap player.

Pros: Easy to set up. Films on DVD rendered very well as are films from my NAS. Sound quality good.
Cons: A rather clunky switchover from the main menu to the online services menu. The Opera web browser is not fit for purpose. Rendering of still images is appalling, low definition and fringing, from both DVD answer NAS.

Excellent sound; easy to set up and use
I bought this to replace an old DVD player - despite more and more films being on download nowadays: I still have plenty of dvds. It's great - works really well, andI was immediately struck by the improvement in sound quality. Great value for the price

Bought recently. Fast delivery.Does not appear to have surround sound connection.No proper operating instructions.Fights with Panasonic HDD recorder -- this is a real problem- HELP.

Good Quality Product
Have just bought this and have already stating to use it on BluRay.
Picture quality and sound through my Amp are both good.
Having a few minor issues with direct connection to my LAN for internet access but this is probably me not using it properly. But will get this sorted in time for christmas.

Initial views on the performance
Have not explored all the features of this TV but initial thoughts are as follows. The use of the optical connected sound bar has different and limiting ways it is used to operate and connected to the TV. Using the optical lead does free up a HDMI socket on the TV leads to the reason for using the optical cable.
Also there is a few mili seconds different with the sound output from the sound bar however it is connected which gives an echo effect to the listener using the headphones.

Great value and picture and very easy too set up.
My existing Panasonic Blue-Ray DVD decided to give up the ghost after many years excellent service, and having recently purchased a sounder to replace the theatre around sound, I was very impressed with the price and quality of this particular machine. Hopefully, it will prove to be as reliable as my previous one.
