Cheap for a reason
If you're looking for a cheap blu-ray player, just for occasional use, and you're not interested in smart features like streaming apps then this product may be OK for you. For anything more than that, I'm afraid it's rather disappointing.
The menus are slow and clunky, with a UI that wouldn't look out of place on VHS recorder from the early noughties. If a disk is in the player then it can take 30 seconds just to get the main menu to display. Once you've managed to load the main menu, getting to the iPlayer app for example, involves navigating through at least 3 menus with long waits in between.
The picture quality when playing Blu-ray disks seems OK, at least on our 37 inch TV. However, the picture quality when streaming through the iPlayer app is pretty poor when compared to what we get using exactly the same app on our Roku/NowTV streaming stick.
So, in summary, it just about does the job but if you're going to be using it regularly you might want to consider spending a bit more for something a little higher quality.

I bought this just over 2 years ago with an extended warranty - it was great value. Just before 2 years, the DVD part became faulty. Richer Sounds was excellent, arranging for collection and eventually a complete replacement. Brilliant customer service.

i bought this panasonic dmpbdt380 bluray player after reading reviews myself - it is an extremely good player "very good picture quality with rich colours and very good contrast" and it has very good sound quality as well - all in all "another quality panasonic product with which i am very very pleased with

Good customer service
The original bluray i ordered came damaged i emailed customer service and they offered me a replacement as the one i ordered was out of stock i was offered the next model up which was £20 more expensive but i did not have to pay the extra and the replacement arrived quickly really happy with it

An excellent recommendation
I was very undecided about which dvd to buy as everyone I asked had different advice. I am also of the dinosaur era with technology.
So I telephoned Richer Sounds in Prestwich and spoke to Matt. He guided me through advantages of different models and knew his stock options even though working from home. Was told it could take up to five days to deliver but actually arrived the next day so very satisfied.
