Product Information
”Superb, near-faultless performance - this is a remarkably talented and enjoyable CD transport for the money.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review.
Award-winning sound quality
Thoroughly engineered and generously specced, the Cyrus CDt Transport is almost unique in offering CD Transport only facilities from a mid-priced player. With a CD Transport you get to choose your own choice of DAC or, alternatively, plug the player straight into a digital ready amplifier, such as the Cyrus Classic AMP. Beginning with the power supply, the Cyrus CDt uses a high quality toroidal transformer with separate control and digital windings. One feeds the critical digital circuits with uninterrupted supply while the other services the current-hungry control aspects such as the transport motors.
Engineered for a smoother, more detailed sound
Jitter can be a serious problem for digital devices with clock errors causing sonic distortion. Fortunately, when partnered with a matching Cyrus DAC, jitter is almost non-existent and the sound, therefore, more precise than a typical one-box player at the same price. Using quality components from the power supply to output, Cyrus has engineered the CDt to be highly analytical. Furthermore, the special optical servo system significantly improves data performance for yet greater accuracy.
Unique Cyrus design and quality
For some decades now, Cyrus products have been instantly recognisable by their half-size case design. This not only makes them look more compact and attractive than other hi-fi separates but is practical, too; two units can be placed side by side without taking up any more width than a conventional hi-fi separate. Just as recognisable is the high quality, die-cast casing. A feature of Cyrus products since the late '80s, this very high quality casing not only looks great but has important sonic benefits, too. In mechanical terms, the dense casing provides a non-resonant nature, minimising microphonic effects. The non-ferrous composition also provides superior shielding against various electrical interference, such as RF disturbance.
Upgrade path
Like other Cyrus products, the CDt offers a clear upgrade path. Even though it already has a first-rate technical specification, it can still be improved. By adding Cyrus's famous PSX-R power supply, the CDt benefits from a more generous supply, helping to bring about a number of improvements. Firstly, with the supply located in a separate casing, noise that could affect the delicate electronics is greatly reduced. Secondly, the larger power supply is more highly regulated for a cleaner and purer supply. The resulting sound has extra detail and a more expansive soundstage.
Cyrus system synergy
Cyrus takes system synergy seriously. Not only do all their products aesthetically match one another but there's also a unique rack that's specifically designed for them - the Hark. In addition to this, the CDt features MC-Bus connectivity, allowing the CD transport to integrate smoothly into a complete Cyrus system using just a single remote control.
For a more flexible approach to CD playback, the Cyrus CDt gives you genuine options as to how you want your CD player to sound.
