The Cyrus CDt-XR is a CD Transport, meaning that it comes without a built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). This not only saves you money but also gives you the freedom to choose your own DAC or partner the CD transport with a digital amp, such as the matching Cyrus XR amplifiers. The lack of a built-in DAC also gives the potential for the very best sound possible, as the DAC-less design helps reduce internal electrical interference.
Servo Evolution for data precision
Cyrus SE (Servo Evolution) technology is a bespoke system reads CD data far more accurately than most CD players/transports. It’s this dedicated approach that gives the CDt-XR its incredibly precise and revealing sound quality. If you thought you’d heard the limits of Compact Disc, you might just be surprised by how much further the CDt-XR takes it.
Short signal path and low jitter clock for the greatest detail
Thanks to its labour intensive engineering, the CDt-XR extracts an incredible level of detail from CD. A key factor in this is the ‘flow and return’ circuit design, with signal paths kept as short as possible. A re-clocking circuit keeps jitter as low as possible – helping to make the sound smoother and more natural.
PSU-XR port for the next step-up
As good as the CDt-XR is, it can be made better still by adding a PSU-XR power supply. Over the past three decades, Cyrus’s famous PSX power supplies have been a ‘must have’ upgrade, and the latest PSU-XR is no different. Adding a PSU-XR provides up to five separate power supplies. With beefed up power supplies you get a cleaner supply of power to each section of the CD transport, giving you a smoother sound with even lower levels of distortion.
Enhanced Cyrus design
Now with a new Phantom Black finish and touch sensitive controls, the CDt-XR’s style is better than ever. The die-cast casing is extremely solid and strongly resists both electrical and mechanical interference from surrounding sources. In terms of practically, Cyrus is a great space saver, with two units taking the space of one on most hi-fi shelves.
