Power to please
Designed to be paired with the Cyrus Classic PRE, but also great with many other devices, the Cyrus Classic POWER amplifier packs an impressive punch. With 87 watts per channel using 8 ohm speakers and up to 144 watts with 4 ohm speakers, it has effortless reserves of power to easily fill larger rooms with sound. Very low levels of distortion means that the power is delivered cleanly, producing lifelike detail, even at higher volume levels.
Signature Cyrus sound
Although this is a punchy-sounding amp when needed, Cyrus hasn’t forgotten about its reputation for precision and detail. Hand built in the UK, the Classic POWER shows typical Cyrus attention to detail. Within the high quality casing is an oversized toroidal mains transformer and high output capacitors. Combined with the short signal path circuitry, this delivers typical Cyrus sound – dynamic, precise and with every subtle detail finely reproduced.
Studio quality, XLR connections
As well as the more usual RCA phono inputs, the Classic POWER also features balanced XLR connections. Use these with a matching Cyrus pre-amp, such as the Classic PRE or even the Pre-XR, and you’ll enjoy a studio quality, ultra-low noise connection. Balanced cables isolate outside noise, letting you enjoy a clearer signal – especially over longer lengths.
Upgrade with a PSX-R2
Power supplies have a great effect on overall sound quality, which is why Cyrus offer the PSX-R2 as a plug-in upgrade for this, and many other Cyrus products. Using a large toroidal transformer and high output, audiophile-grade capacitors, the PSX-R2 provides the Classic POWER with a smooth, stable power feed that helps bring out fine detail and musical subtlety, that’s otherwise lost in the mix.
Unique Cyrus design and quality
The distinctive Cyrus casing offers a number of advantages over more traditional hi-fi. The classic, die-cast casing is extremely solid and strongly resists both electrical and mechanical interference from surrounding sources. Integrated heat sink vents also keep it cool in the most discreet and stylish fashion.
