Bold new style
Just as the name suggests, the DALI Rubicon 6 BLACK EDITION is dressed all in black. Black trim panels and unique, black wooden fibre cones complement the Satin Black finish. This limited edition speaker is finished off with gold detailing to the front badge and rear signature plate.
Enhanced components for even better sound quality
Much more than just a new finish, the Rubicon 6 BLACK EDITION features an extensive range of internal upgrades. A new crossover design, with top quality, Mundorf capacitors delivers improved separation and lower distortion. The internal cabling has also been upgraded to DALI’s silver cable. This enhances detail and brings out subtle details in the music.
High quality drive units for reduced distortion
As with other Rubicons, at the heart of the 6 BE's you'll find an SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) magnet system. This highly specialised feature is designed to provide the most accurate speaker control and ultra-low levels of distortion. Featuring low-loss, wood fibre woofers that are based on DALI's reference grade Epicon speakers and a hybrid tweeter, the Rubicon 6 BE delivers a sound so accurate that it can be truly classed as 'reference' grade.
Cabinets made to the highest standards
Handmade at DALI’s own factory in Denmark, the cabinets are made to exacting and consistent standards. The solid cabinets are designed for low levels of resonance, giving low distortion and help to promote a natural sound.
Powerful and exhilarating bass performance
Standing around a metre tall and boasting twin bass woofers, the Rubicon 6 BLACK EDITION delivers effortless punch. Whether you listen to live rock, powerful dance or full orchestral music, the Rubicon 6 BE's are more than up to the task of reproducing the full dynamic spectrum.
The versatile speaker
Ideal for medium to larger rooms, DALI have designed the Rubicon 6 BE to be as flexible as possible. Able to operate effectively from just 20cm from a rear wall, the Rubicon 6 BE's are more room friendly than other floorstanding speakers. Alternatively, if you've got the space, the 6 BE's are just as happy at up to 1.8m from the wall. Impressive as stereo speakers, the Rubicon 6 BE's also make ideal front speakers for a high-end home cinema system.
Refined to perfection, the DALI Rubicon 6 BE are the best made better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SamyBoy13 from Dali Rubicon 6 Black Edition Dali Rubicon 6 Black Edition is a substantial upgrade over Opticon 6 I had for the last 2 years. As always Richersounds Plymouth offered a very competitive price on new pair (Cost of refurbished/Openbox standard edition Rubicon 6 edition). I'm glad to have a well-informed, no-pressurizing, and professional squad that is willing to go the extra mile without pursuing the maximum profit. I hope you guys (Richersounds Plymouth) have Wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. Now let's get to the review, it is a shame Dali does not talk about the special edition finish! It is Black satin black lacquer is jaw-dropping. It fits the modern theme of the house and as a result, is very Misses friendly. Also to note this is a limited edition speaker and only 444 pairs were made worldwide. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time with them ( 30 hours) in my main room due to room refurbishment hence why now they are in a small room. Sound-wise Rubicon 6 Black edition is a similar sound speaker to Opticon 6 but it builds on its heritage. Don't let this fool you as the low end has so much more definition and control, in comparison to Opticon that has the quantity over quality (still good standard but night and day difference). As a result, Opticon 6 overpowers the room more easily than Rubicon, despite the fact, Rubicon digs much lower is easier to manage. Therefore I can happily turn my amp to 9 o'clock without the speaker becoming boomy. medium room is a must for Rubicons (4x5m) to allow them to breathe then the sound comes together and speakers disappear. Mid-range is very similar if not the same in Rubicons. High frequency has much more finesse and maybe because of the low-end sound much more balanced. Don't get me wrong Rubicon tweeter is still very detailed and resolute, but unlike Opticon tweeter, it does not fatigue on Rock or not well-mastered music. Lastly the sound stage and depth on Rubicons. Oh boy, this is another level over Opticon. You can tell the height, depth, and width more easily. To conclude if sound could be quantified Rubicon would be a 30% better speaker. Is this the best speaker? I would say no. I have auditioned Q acoustics Concept 500 which sounds very mellow to me. They had greater soundstage, low-end extension, and grunt that Rubicon simply lacked due to their sheer size. Yet Concepts lacked the Rubicon tweeter detail and transparency, which in turn made sound cues harder to pick up or locate. Monitor Audio Gold 300 sounded very harsh and piercing to my ears, especially the tweeter. The low end seemed very disjointed regardless of the speaker placement hence why I disregarded them. The only negative about Rubicon 6 black edition is their satin finish. It is not as bad as a gloss but still care needs to be taken when handling - a fingerprint magnet, but then who touches their speakers ?! If you look for a great all-rounder that will play all music genres 8/10 then DALI is the answer for many. Whatever you decide to buy make sure you use your benchmark equipment! Your ears will never lie and only you need to like your setup, no one else. HIFI journey is a never-ending story, the chase for impossible perfection. Just enjoy the journey!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marcus gilbank from Wow just wow I bought these speakers yesterday from Cardiff branch after speaking to one of the staff forgive me but I'm awful with names they were delivered today which was fantastic I've just set them up and wow this is my first expensive proper pair of speakers and all I can say is I'm blown away by how good they sound straight out of the box and I'm powering them with my marantz 6007 amp which I thought would struggle as it's a entry level amp but for my needs at the moment it's perfectly fine the sound from the speaker's to my ear is fantastic couldn't be happier they are pricey but as the saying goes you get what you pay for, if you can afford it I would 100% recommend them and richer sounds are fantastic highy recommend them too

Rated 5 out of 5 by chrisha from Great sound quality I bought these speakers about two weeks ago but am already impressed with the quality of the sound. Being a special edition, they also look good and complement the rest of my system.
