Ultimate quality DAC
If you’re looking for the finest sound possible from your digital sources, then the EarMen Tradutto may well be the device for you. With hugely powerful processing, studio-grade components and design, and input flexibility, this is one impressive DAC.
Powerful processing for effortless sound
At the heart of the EarMen Tradutto is an XMOS 16-core chipset. This powerful processor helps gives this DAC a fast clock speed for low jitter and, hence signal distortion. It also gives the DAC the power to optimise hardware decoding, such as MQA.
Unprecedented sound quality
Featuring a reference quality, ES9038Q2M SABRE DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor), the Tradutto produces class-leading sound. The DAC circuit is also designed to resist interference from wi-fi, cellular and Bluetooth signals, giving a quieter background for a more dynamic sound.
Low background noise
Using a gold-plated PCB (Printed Circuit Board) with wima capacitors, audio electrolytes in combination with MELF low noise resistors and SoundPlus OPA1642 op-amps, the Tradutto produces a clean, low distortion signal. This means less background noise, letting you hear every subtle detail from your music.
Fully balanced for studio-grade performance
The EarMen Tradutto is a fully balanced design, meaning the balanced outputs connects directly to an amplifier with balanced input, giving the cleanest and lowest distortion signal possible.
Wide-ranging Hi-res format playback including MQA
The Tradutto is compatible with a wide range of file formats. Supporting MQA files, the amp makes the ideal partner for Tidal Masters. Other supported files include PCM and DXD up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512.
Inputs include USB-B, optical and coaxial, making this DAC ideal for a connecting a wide range of components. Connect your PC, laptop or Mac via USB for a massive improvement in sound over the computer’s own soundcard. Your network streamer, CD player, games console, TV and DVD/Blu-ray player will also all greatly benefit from the Tradutto’s reference quality and state-of-art DAC and electronic design.
With its built-in Qualcomm HD Bluetooth receiver, you can also wirelessly connect your smartphone, tablet or laptop for convenient streaming. Perfect for streaming your favourite services, such as Spotify, TIDAL, Apple Music and Amazon Music to your system, the Tradutto offers a high quality, wireless link. Unlike older and more basic Bluetooth systems, Qualcomm’s aptX HD and Adaptive audio technologies now offer superior sound quality.
Supercharge your whole digital music world, with the EarMen Tradutto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John Cee from My first higher-end dac I have had this a few days now. I had originally planned to buy a Denefrips Aries II, but it's now £180 dearer than the Tradutto, quite a lot bigger, and what if anything were to go wrong? I didn't really fancy having to ship it back to China to get fixed. Anyway, I came across a YouTube review by iiWi, someone I trust, and he said the Tradutto was, if anything, overall slightly better than the Denefrips. So I decided to take a risk and buy it. By the second day, it seemed to come on song, and what a song! Incredibly detailed -- but not in a cold and analytical way -- and has a deep, textured and punchy bass with wonderful midrange and treble. It's miles better sounding than the DAC in my Audiolab 6000A (not to knock that as it's very good considering the 6000A's price), which I've been using for a while. The soundstage is deep and wide, and instrument/vocal separation is outstanding. I've been awstruck and enchanted by its presentation, and the build quality is unusually good -- the case is carved from a solid block of aluminium, and the remote (which is rechargeable) is also metal. It comes with a small external power supply and a USB cable, but if you want to use its balanced output (which I can't), you're gonna have to get your hands on a 4.4mm pentaconn jack to standard-sized XLR cable because one isn't supplied. You can use USB, Toslink or coaxial input. I've so far tried it with coaxial, but will also try it on optical. I'm very please with my purchase, which arrived very quickly indeed, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if it's in your price range, but as always, try to give it a listen before you buy. I don't think you'd be disappointed.
