Great bass depth
Following on from the award winning XL315, comes the Symphony 400. Cambridge Audio has sensibly kept changes to the winning formula minimal. Yet, with a revised copper structure, the Cambridge Audio Symphony 400 has greater detail and transparency than before. Fans of the XL315 will be pleased to hear that the bass depth and impact that made the old cable so popular, remain.
For a good quality speaker cable with class-leading punch, the Symphony remains top of its class.

Hard to fault although stripping the plastic sheath off the copper was challenging if one doesn’t have a proper stripping tool

Excellent Value
I bought this on the advice of my local Richer Sounds shop. Very pleased and it give great sound quality. One cable is printed so is easy to identify. You have to be careful when stripping the cable back though.

My 30yr old plus speaker cables whilst v good quality then, and still working OK, were looking dog eared (and cat chewed) so had to go. Obviously RS the go to place. Looked at the Symphony range and decided on the 400s. The diameter of the copper wire looked closest to mine, and this turned out to be about right. Was not sure about the sheath colour however a little less pink in daylight, and better than a solid black or white IMO.Teamed with the Cambridge Audio premium banana plugs which were a doddle to fit. + and - marks on the cable sheath avoid errors. Overall very pleased with product, price and service. Thumbs up to Sebastian at the Maidstone branch for his assistance.

Perfect for my set up and budget.. can definitely hear the difference and step up in quality from stock cable. Easy to connect up (have banana plugs but no need) and more than happy with not only product but CS and support from the guys at Watford .. recommended

Not comparable with Gale XL315
I bought this to biamp some speakers I had already wired with Gale XL315 (which used to be great, by the way). RS' assertion that CA Symphony 400 is an update of Gale XL315 isn't true: the Gale conductor copper core is approximately 2.3mm diameter (roughly 4.2 mm2) the CA Symphony 400 is about 1.7mm (2.3 mm2) - almost half the cross sectional area.

Not as good as the Ultra Micro
I bought this as I wanted to experiment with speaker position and needed some longer cable to do that. And, at that time, I would have bet my right arm that all speaker cable would sound the same and only a fool would buy expensive cable.
The result of the experiment was that even with the speakers in their original postion, and with everything exactly as before, we just didn't enjoy the sound as much as with the Cambridge Audio Ultra Micro cable that I was using before – so I put the original cable back.
It makes absolutely no sense to me how different cable would change the sound, in fact it actually offends me that it did.

Great sound
Having bought a midi system for my bedroom I needed to standardise the ragged speaker cable I had so bought two lengths of the Symphony 400. Very happy with both performance and assistance during purchase. Following a phone call the cable was ready to pick up later that day by appointment at my local store.

A tale of two leads
I had never given much thought to how cabling had an impact on the quality of the sound. After years of having very cheap speaker cabling (and RCA leads) these cost effective upgrades have really made me think again. The sound I now hear is worlds apart from what I had grown accustomed to and I would not hesitate in recommending an upgrade if you've been using standard cabling.

I bought these cables as I needed more length to my current sound system for DJing. Absolutely top class audio as usual from Cambridge, you can’t go wrong. They arrived next day and I had a few questions to Ask richer sounds about beforehand- they got back to me within an hour to help. Must buy!

Bought this to replace 11 year old Audio Symphony 400, bought from Richer Sounds again back in 2009. Just moved flat and needed a bit of extra length.
Cable is easy to cut and has always done me well. Worth spending just that little extra on the cabling and this has always seemed absolutely solid.

Excellent and good value speaker cable
A well made and well protected copper speaker cable. It is a little bulky and the translucent covers challenged my cable stripper somewhat but that is the price you pay for a low resistance low capacitance cable.

Great bang for your buck
I have a modest Tannoy Mercury custom 7.1 surround system all hooked up with this speaker cable.
It's cost effective and delivers crisp highs and deep lows (to my ears anyway)
There's no reason to buy anything else

I bought this cable a few hours ago after reading some great reviews, it has replaced some old 42 strand on my conservatory system
I conquer with others in that it is fabulous VFM with all elements improving , sweeter treble , more open mid, deeper tighter bass, but also more musical , I also bought some of the fabulous Cambridge Audio banana plugs which work a treat, I’d like to thank Oli and his staff for quick, prompt service.
