Bought this TV looking at reviews, some were pretty good and some bad. However, once I bought it I realised a lot of differences, and after some more research I realised all the reviews are non UK and that the reviews (which were probably mostly American) have different specifications to the one we get in the UK even though they have the same name (I have the U8H). They get Google TV OS and more local dimming zones for just 2 examples. When you look at the youtube reviews you can tell the UK version has more blooming. Other than that, for the price you can't really complain about much else and picture quality has been pretty good for my use given my budget. But would I recommend it to others I know? If they had a low budget they jad to stick to like me then maybe, if they could up that budget a little more I would say no and tell them to look at something else.

Very good all-rouder that shines with HDR content
A very good 4K HDTV overall with just a few minor minuses.
*Must mention this has a different panel technology than the US model (IPS APS Vs VA panel). As such I'm reviewing the UK model only.
Timber fair from my experience it is not a deal breaker but does mean having less dimming zones and lower overall contrast. Wish Hisense would indeed offer the same technology for all customers regions.
Summary:
In short It's absolutely gorgeous in bright environments and when displaying bright contact, especially in HDR but can struggle a bit with very dark and challenging scenes.
As someone said it's an absolute beast in bright environments when displaying bright full screen content.
Detailed description:
Caveat: I use a streaming box and external sound system so my review of the sound and built in OS is based on a more limited experience.
Very good build quality and looks very premium, but the remote is not as good (it's useable but the most premium looking and a bit bulky).
Image quality is very good in most conditions and it's outright excellent at displaying HDR10/10+ and bright images. Struggles a bit with some Dolby Vision content thought and when the media quality is of poor quality (upscaling works well overall but it definitely prefers high quality content as a TV).
Screen brightness and colour reproduction are quite good and gets so bright it feel you need sunglasses sometimes. Scenes with fire displayed are simply stunning on this TV.
Although not used as much the internal audio set up is surprisingly good with clear and crisp vocals and nice thump from the woofer. It's also very loud.
OS is also ok with most apps present and generally a slick interface but again minus for Hisense, this is a Vida OS and not Google OS as in the US. Minus is you can't get Now TV in the UK on the built it OS.
To be said it does seem to get very good support with updates every few months.
Overall the panel quality is good but without local dimming turned on it exhibits poor screen uniformity. As with all LED bright TVs it can suffer from DSE (dirty screen effect) and blooming but it's not too distracting.
Great for gaming with excellent response time and image quality but another minus is you can't use local dimming with Game Mode on.
Overall would recommend this TV as it's good value for money and a very good all rounder choice.

OK BUT
I've been using the TV for around 3 weeks and am generally pleased with it. The sound is exceptional for a TV.
The picture is ok but there are two issues I would like to resolve. Your support department has not responded fully to my queries, I wish to move the main HD channels (101 - 105) to either replace 1 - 5 or to put the HD channels just in front to make things easier for my wife whom has dementia.
The second issue is that the colour green is frequently unnaturally too strong and bright and I need to know how I can correct this without upsetting the general good performance.

Really good tv
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tv arrived and was a little tricky to get the stand together but once that was sorted, we then started to register everything and set it up which was really easy to do and was made really easy, the remote is simple to use and even my young children can use the tv with ease which is great, I would definitely recommend the tv I think for what you get with it the price is really good as well, the picture and sound quality it's amazing as well
