Terrible UI
Good sound for its size.
But one of the most obscure ways of setting up a speaker that I have experienced (via Google Home). It is not, apparently, possible to set it up with Bluetooth connections out of the box. Weird. On that basis, I would not recommend this idiosyncratic speaker.

Do not recommend the JBL Link Portable
If you have other airplay speakers in the house and are thinking of streaming simultaneously dont get this speaker. The audio is out of sync with other speakers

Great product. Terrible design issues
The charging Dock does not work at all.
The USB c charge port is actually a micro USB 2amp limit so using any USB c charger bricks the device beyond repair.
Their consumer support is non existent as I have never received even an email from them.

My Favourite Smart Speaker
I've had this speaker for around a year. Works very well, love the re-charge dock. I keep it near my back door to the garden, so easy just to pick up and take out to the garden. It's been accidentally dropped it, or knocked off a table so many times but works 100%. Sound output is good and clear. The Google Home Smart control works well and wifi reception seems fine. I wish JBL made a Alexa version, I'd buy another one.

Great little speaker, perfect for my needs
Bought a few weeks back but wanted to wait to review till I'd tested it properly. Bought this to fit into my existing chromecast home and it does the job perfectly. Solid sound for the size, gets plenty loud enough and good sound quality. Dropped one star because when on 5ghz it failed to roam to another access point for my WiFi but since switching to 2.4ghz it's perfect.

It's ok, just ok.
Having owned a Bose portable smart speaker, which sounded amazing, but returned due to it being agoraphobic, which defeated the object, the JBL is certainly a step down. Sound quality is ok, there's no dedicated app, Google is a bit laggy, streaming Spotify is hit and mis. The speaker just does the job. Unfortunately, the choice for portable smart speakes is very small and so I settled for this.

AirPlay 2 Doesn't Sync
This is a great speaker other than it not working properly with AirPlay 2. Unfortunately that is the main reason I bought it. There also isn't a clear way to update the firmware. Perhaps this is happening in the background. I have tried sync audio in Google Home but it is impossible to find the right setting.

Great device
Love it, it's portable, nice design, good quality sound and build. Casting to this speaker works well. There is a slight delay when casting YouTube from Chrome browser and also when connected over Bluetooth, but I suspect no manufacturer has solved this issue.
