Standing at the top of the Q-Series range, the mighty KEF Q950 is a commanding performer.
World famous Uni-Q technology for a natural sound stage
The KEF Q950 uses a famous KEF technology to great effect, with the Uni-Q drive unit. This involves positioning the treble unit in the middle of the woofer, creating a single point source for sound across the frequency range. The end result of this is a broader, more cohesive sound that offers excellent stereo within a wider listening area.
Improved treble
A new damped loading system greatly reduces distortion, giving a smoother, more detailed top-end. The "tangerine" wave guide system helps the treble integrate more smoothly with the mid-range. Another improvement with the Q950 is the sealed top compartment - meaning that treble and mid-range aren't affected by the air movements from the bass units.
Aluminium woofer cone with Z-Flex surround for low distortion
Made from lightweight yet rigid aluminium, the woofer units are fast to respond and linear in their response. This helps give life-like dynamics and low levels of distortion. Using technologies developed in their high-end Concept Blade speakers, the Q950 offers attention to detail not usually seen in speakers at this level. The Z-Flex woofer surround gives superior cone control, helping it blend seamlessly with the treble unit for a more even and consistent sound.
Additional woofer and twin ABRs for window-rattling bass
Within its floorstanding cabinet the Q950 house no fewer than three extra bass woofers. One of these 8 inch cones is powered and is dedicated entirely to bass below the mid-range unit. Working like a subwoofer, this enables the Q950 to offer a hugely powerful and sustained bass that's at the top of its class. Improving this further, twin ABRs (Auxcillary Bass Radiators) utilise energy within the cabinet to further enhance and sustain the bass response.
Plinth included for enhanced stability
Coming complete with bolt-on plinths, the Q950 offer excellent stability. The design stretches out the spikes to give the highest level of stability possible. This has the effect of reducing distortion as the cabinet is more likely to stay in position and not 'rock' with louder music. Yet another great piece of attention to detail is that the spikes are also effortlessly adjustable from above - saving time and hassle when it comes to setting up.

Great sound poor build
Like most of the reviews on here, they sound clarity is amazing, but it has a distinct sound that you know it’s a kef, it’s got good highs and clean lows, but the lower mids can be better, but this may change as the speakers breaks in. but again the build quality is poor, shockingly poor for a speaker in this price range.

KEF Q950 sound of sonic heaven
Hmmm and ahhhed for a while and the price of these speakers is not to be sneezed at. Anyway after a lot of research I took the plunge and have not regretted it. It will take some time for these speakers to settle but out of the box they are outstanding.
A item to note is that you will need a powerful amp to really push these and even at loud volumes the clarity is amazing.

As main speakers these are brilliant, nice tonality and warm loving Bass. Partnered with the Q650C, Q50A's and Q350's you have a match made in heaven. For Music and Movies the sound is beautiful, very happy.

I brought these about 2 weeks ago and I must say they are definitely the best speakers I have ever owned the sound is crystal clear and the bass is punchy these speakers just sing to you highly recommended

stunning speakers with awesome sound quality
I am very happy with these speakers the clarity is amazing compared to my old speakers they look stunning and they are very well built too ... the tweeter and mid range combination is amazing and looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to purchasing the centre speaker very soon.

Kef 950 white speakers
I brought these a couple of weeks ago and I must say they are the nuts the sound is full with a good top end and can handle anything . and you can hear everything that was meant to be . You can hear all the instruments and a clean clear voice I've got the white set jury's still out if the black set look more expensive but you can't go wrong with the sound ( you get what you pay for) enough said Paul .
