LG is no good from
Hardware is good but software still have long way
Hardware is good but software still have long way to go as well as huge of works on the design of user interface & interactive. It spend me over 6 hours, I still cannot login my LG account in the TV and the TV cannot install any other app without LG account. So weird design and I am wondering if I don't give me my personal info, Do I have any choice to install any app in this so-called "Smart TV"

Excellent value and a great picture
Bought this to replace a 7-year old 50" TV, which I thought was perfectly fine, until I got this bad boy on the wall. The extra 15" makes all the dfference in my room - it's not a big room, but I do like a near-cinema experience, even if I'm just watching old Top Gear reruns.
The picture quality is really good. First movie was an old Bond film on DVD that looked surprsingly good. I know my BluRay player has some upscaling tech built in so that would have helped, but the image still looked very impressive. next up, Lord Of The Rings on BluRay and that looked really impressive. Then some Orville from my media server - looks stunning - you can see the pores in Seth's face, which is not neccesarily a good thing, but there you go.
Sound isn't great. I tried it briefly before hooking the TV up to my amp via optical, but if you're not used to 5.1 or better, maybe it might sound fine? But then I didn't buy this TV for its speakers.
Features. Good range of apps. Never bothered with smart TV before - I had a laptop hooked up before, but I really don't need it all. Once we set them up, we now have Prime, NetFlix, Disney, iPlayer, et al., just click away. Now all I need is to find something worth watching! I did also like how easily if found files on my Synology media server - very slick.
Issues. First complaint was actually the picture quality before I turned off the TruMotion nonsense. Why is that on by default? Makes everything look terrible. If you don't know why, just google "soap opera effect" (other search engines are available).
Second issue is that I really don't like the layout of the home screen, but there's not much I can do about it. I always have to scroll down to find the HDMI tile to click on so I can connect to the amp, or to find the media server. There are buttons on the remote for streaming services, but I mostly watch BluRays TBH, and I'd rather it was a little more freindly to that.
That's all. Great picture and decent features, especially for the price.
