Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos combine to make the LG OLED55E7N the finest TV in its class.

The ultimate screen technology - OLED

Say hello to the ultimate TV screen technology - OLED. Organic Light-Emitting Diode - OLED - TV offers perhaps the most advanced picture quality currently available. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Stunning Picture-on-Glass design
LG's truly stunning Picture-on-Glass design consists of an ultra-thin panel with a translucent glass back. Viewed from the side, the TV's panel is little thicker than a pane of glass - but a lot more exciting to watch!

The widest range of HDR support yet with Active HDR
Taking HDR beyond any of its rivals, the LG OLED55E7N is the most flexible HDR-equipped TV to date. A true 10-bit panel gives it an immediate advantage over other TVs, in that it's able to show HDR signals to their potential. Advanced HDR by Technicolor offers reference levels of image and colour accuracy. As well as Advanced HDR, this 55" LG OLED TV also offers decoding for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. HDR10 is widely used on UHD gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft. HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma HDR) is a broadcast and user generated standard format that is set to become the standard for transmitting 4K signals.

Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this LG, can decode both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.

Dolby Atmos compatible soundbar built-in
With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG OLED TV can decode Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more immersive sound. With built-in soundbar and a powerful 40 watt amp, the OLED55E7N punches harder the typical flat panel TV.

webOS 3.5 - the critics' choice
Widely acclaimed as one of the best smart TV interfaces, LG's webOS 3.5 operating system is more refined than ever. Updates to the hardware means that webOS is 40% faster than before, making using it a seamless experience. WebOS 3.5 uses superimposed icons, folders and side bars for clear and easy access to smart content without leaving the current screen image. New features for webOS 3.5 include 'Magic Link', 'Magic Sound Tuning' and 360-degress video.

Magic made better
Following on from previous 'Magic' technology, webOS 3.5 now has the ability to record 'Magic Zoom', letting you record to USB highlighted sections of the screen. 'Magic Link' gives additional information, such as the actors in the scene and related YouTube videos. 'Magic Sound Tuning' uses a microphone built into the remote to optimise the TV's sound, according to your room's acoustics.

See the bigger picture with 360-degrees video
Now you can see the bigger picture with 360-degrees video. When watching suitable video, this feature lets you use the remote to track 360-degrees from left to right. It also allows you to 'look' up and down and even zoom in and out. Simply put, it's the closest thing yet to actually being there!

Twin tuners and Freeview Play for flexible viewing
With twin tuners on board you can record onto a USB-linked device while watching a different channel, simultaneously. Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside over 60TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

Smart TV that includes all your favourite apps
The LG OLED55E7N comes packed with useful apps that look great on the big screen. The BBC iPlayer, YouTube, Now TV, Demand 5 and Netflix are just some of the VOD (Video On Demand) services that come as standard with the LG. There's also easy access to music sites like Spotify and Napster plus social sites Facebook and Twitter.

DLNA and Wi-Fi make this TV part of your home network
DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatibility means the OLED55E7N will seamlessly blend with your home network. With DLNA you can stream music or video from your laptop, PC or NAS drive. Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, even connecting up is a breeze.

Stunning style and vision go hand-in-hand, with the LG OLED55E7N.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic all round tv I purchased this tv around 5 weeks ago, and I can’t be happier with its whole package. So easy to set up, Sounds great even though it’s a built in sound bar, Picture on glass makes the set look really classy, (should be at that price) And most importantly the picture is amazing!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I bought this three weeks ago and am very pleased with everything, from the way it looks to the outstanding picture quality. At times it can have an almost 3D effect and I mean that in a good way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG OLED unbelievable! My old 40 inch LCD was still working well but getting long in the tooth. Things were looking cluttered with YouView and Humax boxes and seeing the OLED screens in action I decided to upgrade. Choosing the screen size was easy. 55 inch was perfect for my room, anything bigger would be excessive. I looked at the competition and comparing features and reviews I started to look seriously at the LG OLED. I didn't need much convincing. Easy set up and intuitive controls just so easy. The 4K content out there is getting better, loads of YouTube stuff easily accessed and good inbuilt apps. Web browser slick and quick. Freeview Play is brilliant, Netflix, Amazon what more do you need. What don't I like....well nothing, it's great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best picture Very easy to setup out of the box. Crystal clear picture and the sound is next to nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from State of the art 55" TV Most of the reviews available on-line at present for LG's OLED TVs seem to be for the versions either without the built in sound bar (eg the B7V), or the 65" versions, so it was a bit of a leap in the dark for us when we bought this one. However I needn't have worried. It seems that the 55" OLED screen is common to all their sets and as everyone else has already said, it's magical with a 4K source, so I had no problems there. As to the soundbar, well it's certainly much better than the usual TV speakers, but to my ears still not as good as our old set-up where we ran the sound through my HiFi's amp and speakers. But it's the best TV sound I've heard since our old cathode ray Philips set, so I'm very happy with that. Whether it would be better to buy the B7V and a separate sound bar you'll have to decide for yourself in the store. To make sure we got the best possible picture and range of programmes, I bought and fitted a brand new top quality aerial (a LOG 36) and new co-ax cabling with proper copper sheathing to run the set directly. There's lots of information on-line to guide you with this and mine came from a small firm in Sheffield with a tremendously informative website (I hope Richer Sounds will forgive me for mentioning aerialsandtv.com ?) It's worth pointing out that 4K TVs receiving a SD signal (so any non-HD programme, for example your local area news), have to upscale a fairly poor input to 4K. Consequently, I found the image from these a bit disappointing on the OLED screen compared to our previous Panasonic 55" plasma HD set. But the HD set has to upscale the SD picture four times, and the OLED set has to do the same again even to an HD one, so this isn't surprising. You soon get used to it, and it's still a good picture. You can read about all the features of the set on here, but to me it's very useful to have Amazon Prime built in so there's no need for a separate Fire Stick, and I like the pink 'mouse' that pops up on the screen when you use the remote. No more scrolling about the TV guide to get to the programme you want. You just point the mouse at it and click. The set doesn't come with any 4K Blu-Rays to try, but I also bought a Sony 4K player which had 'Inferno', a Tom Hanks film with it and although the film's not my thing, the picture is absolutely astonishing. Someone said it's like looking out of the window, and they're right. I've no idea how your eyes will be able to discern any improvement from 8K (or whatever comes next). Surely like mobile phones, it's all diminishing returns from now on. I tried watching an early 'Midsomer Murders' DVD using the 4K player on the new TV and it was noticably better than on our old set. Trying a 'Father Brown' Blu-Ray, the picture was brilliant, again better than on our HD set, although that from the 4K film I mentioned above was better still. It was a very easy TV to set up, even for an oldie like me, and using what I assume is witchcraft, even my phone's photo collection was wirelessly available to look at on the screen. There's a stack of stuff you can fiddle about with in the menus to alter the picture to suit your taste, but I took the good advice the chap in RS gave me (although I've forgotten what he said now...) and it looked great at that, so I'm not going to fiddle with it again. To sum up, this is an absolutely cracking TV and if you can afford one, I have no doubt you won't regret buying it for a moment. I must finish with a pat on the back for Richer Sounds in Leicester for their consistently excellent service and help with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best picture ever ! Had an lg oled Eg920 for 18 months with no problems but seen 2017 oled,s in richer sounds liverpool and I was sold, plumped for an E7, and glad I did. Out of the box, the picture was pristine, with dolby atmos and dolby vision I should be future proof for the next couple of years
