”That makes it comfortably the best LG OLED that we’ve so far tested, and that is saying something.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review.

New OLED Evo

It’s hard to improve on LG’s stunning OLED panels, but that’s exactly what they’ve done with the OLED Evo. The most significant improvement to OLED since 4K HDR, OLED Evo delivers brighter and more dynamic images through the use of a new luminous element. Detail and clarity are enhanced, pushing the LG OLED65G16LA even further ahead of the competition.

Ultra-slim Gallery design with built-in wall bracket
At just 19.9mm thick, this OLED TV looks stunning. The sleek ‘Gallery’ design takes pride of place in your room without dominating it. To make the most of those slim good looks, the OLED65G16LA comes with a built-in, flush-fitting wall bracket. This not only saves you the cost of buying a wall bracket, it also means that you get a bracket that’s dedicated to this specific model, meaning it fits absolutely flat to the wall.

Optional table stand
If you prefer to mount your TV on a table, optional feet are available as an extra cost option. The slimline feet complement the ‘Gallery’ style. Click here to see matching stand.

LG’s powerful new processor - Alpha 9 Gen 4
Capable of automatically detecting and optimising the content you’re watching, LG’s powerful Alpha 9 Gen 4 processor is at the heart of making this TV a spectacular performer. Using AI technology, the picture and sound are optimised to best suit the genre – be it movies, sport, gaming or regular TV. The processor on this 65 inch LG TV also drives the brilliant AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro.

AI Picture/Sound Pro for professional sound and vision
Using a huge database of over one million visual date points, AI Picture Pro uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise content, remove noise and optimise the picture. AI Sound Pro leans from more than 17 million audio data points, identifying voices, effects and frequencies. From here, it optimises the sound by genre, giving a more natural sound quality.

Ultimate detail - Dolby Vision IQ
For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit.

HDR made better, with HDR10 Pro
LG’s powerful processing also helps in getting the very best from HDR10 material. Whether watching movies or gaming with HDR10 games, HDR10 Pro intensifies the regular HDR experience. HDR10 Pro automatically adjusts the brightness, enhancing colour and detail for a more vivid picture.

See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.

Game Optimiser with HFR, VRR and ALLM for a gaming advantage
Game Optimiser utilises a dedicated gaming menu, letting you select and control specific gaming features, such as Reduce Blue Light, Prevent Input Delay, VRR and AMD FreeSync. Equipped with a full HDMI 2.1 interface (all four sockets), this LG TV gets the very best from your choice of gaming source. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mean that your TV automatically adjusts to the optimised settings for gaming – giving you a smoother and faster response.

4.2 speaker system, AI Sound Pro and Dolby Atmos compatible sound
Featuring a built-in, 4.2 speaker system, the OLED65G16LA offers a more immersive sound than the lower models. Power is also up 50% to 60 watts – giving a rich, room-filling sound. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound Pro up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 5.1 sound – giving a much more immersive sound and enhanced dialogue. With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG 65” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more enveloping sound.

Welcome home - LG webOS 6 for the best in smart TV
Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system just keeps getting better. The latest webOS 6 uses your viewing history to recommend a range of shows and movies from across various apps. An improved home page offers improved graphics, with dedicated info and search boxes.

Magic Remote made better
LG’s Magic Remote has always led the field for simple, gesture and voice control. The latest version retains this, while offering direct keys for popular streaming services and a new, cleaner style. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + and Rakuten TV are all now just the touch of a button away. Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa also get dedicated buttons for simply voice recognition.

The hub of your home entertainment
Featuring LG’s ThinQ AI technology, you can control a Home IoT ecosystem with natural voice recognition. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, it makes it even easier to control your LG OLED TV and quickly access the entertainment you’re looking for.

Picture the best possible image, with the LG OLED65G16LA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing picture & sound Have had this to for 7 months now and I’m very happy with this tv. Sound is amazing coming from such a thin tv at only 23mm thick. Picture is the best I have experienced. The wall bracket is pure genius, easy to affix and remove the tv. There is a known fault to do with the power supply module and it only took 7 days start to finish to repair. The fault is that the tv won’t turn on. There was a small scratch of about 3mm long, the repair team spotted it and put a new screen at no cost to me. Huzzah

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the best [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am totally spoiled now that I know what OLED looks like. I can't go back to LED or any other technology. I know I can find cheaper TV's but picture quality is absolutely perfect. Blacks never looked so real. Contrast and brightness work straight away without configure anything. I really like Vivid profile but it’s probably a personal choice as colours look really engaging and interesting. Another fantastic feature is Filmmaker mode, which changes colour profiles depending on the movie and it works flawlessly in Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV. I was surprised at how it sound really good even for such a flat TV, stereo and Dolby Atmos sounded very clear even at loud volume. In terms of installation, it was a little bit tricky because it is very heavy for a drywall but the bracket works perfect. When correctly installed, the TV looks very neat and discrete, hence the “Gallery” model. When you’re initially setting up the TV you need to agree to loads of T’s and C’s where you agree to send lots of analytics which I think they’re not necessary but you can opt out. Overall I am really happy with my TV and hopefully I will enjoy it for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did they improve perfect? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got my first OLED 5 years ago, I was convinced I had the best quality picture and it would be hard to see any improvements. How wrong was I? The LG G1 somehow produces enhanced clarity and depth to pictures even more so, and improved brightness has made a big difference. The size and thickness of the TV has astounded me, and this is a masterclass in TV engineering. Loved the wallmount was included with easy fitting templates. The New Web OS is a lot smarter and faster, although it does take more effort to navigate around. Overall though, this TV "shines" from the moment you it on! (Pun intended)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's ruined the cinema for me!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coming from an older Plasma (a GT60, which was still going strong..., ish), I was expecting quite a wow factor & I really was not disappointed. I'd been following the progress of OLEDs for a while & even though I wasn't tempted by a QLED, I had compared the pros & cons of each, with the only definable advantage of the LEDs being how bright they can get. Now, upon initial viewing of the G1, I honestly don't understand how people can say OLEDs aren't bright. I was VERY surprised with how bright the screen can get. The missus has said on numeous occasions that it's too bright at times (I have altered the settings with the help of Vincent, of HDTV Test fame), so it's not the Vivid setting burning her retinas out. I guess in part coming from an older plasma set, it was just too much for her to handle :') The magic remote is a nice upgrade over the old remote, as having a pointer is a very welcome bonus & is just a really good QOL improvement. As I didn't want to wall mount it, setting it up on the feet I bought for it was simple, though lifting it from the packaging & placing it somewhere flat is definitely a two person job. Getting through the initial setup & into the meat of it was easy enough & I had "expert" settings ready to go to give me the best picture. & what a picture it is... For movies the blacks are nice & inky. The colours are rich & pop out at you & with this being the Evo panel, HDR content really shines. The sound is rich & clear & is certainly a stepup from my old plasma. The only downside I've found so far, is when I recently visited the cinema & as you do, I couldn't help but compare the big screen to my little 55" at home & the G1 trounced my local cinema screen. This isn't something I'd noticed with my old TV, but having used the G1 for a while now, the graininess was more prevalent & it didn't look anywhere near as rich - victory for home entertainment! Speaking of home entertainment & as with most smart TVs nowadays, the G1 is compatible with the latest apps & has specific buttons for Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime & Rakuten built into the remote. For gaming the G1 really comes alive & is the main reason why I wanted the G1 over any other set. As this was my 1st foray into HDR, the PS5 is improved no end & now my games look so much more vibrant. Response time is up there with the quickest on the market too & the G1 just has me covered going forward & makes me just that much more excited about the future of gaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sublime [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I could describe the LG G1 in one word it would be “Sublime”. I was looking for an OLED TV for Movies/Gaming which had a flush fit to the wall. I already own a LG C9 which is used in the Kitchen Living room so this G1 was for the lounge. On paper the G1 ticked all the boxes. Low latency, variable refresh rates up to 120hz@4K, HDMI 2.1, higher brightness, the list goes on. For me the most noticeable upgrades from the C9 which is already an amazing OLED where the handling on fast motion and dark scenes. Action Movies and Sports looked very smooth no matter how much was going on. When it comes to streaming series like Game of Thrones or the Witcher which have lots of dark scenes, the bitrates on the steams can cause artifacts/blocking. The G1 smooths these out very well so they don’t distract you from the show. Dark scenes while watching 4k Blu-ray are truly amazing as you’d expect as the bitrates on Blu-ray are multiple times that of streaming. The brightness has also been improved. When watching during the day colours are well defined and in a dark room while watching a movie at night the HDR is breathtakingly good next to the pitch blacks of the OLED panel. One thing I do prefer on the C9 is the minimal menu overly which just comes up on the bottom of the screen, on the G1 its full screen. This is just something minor, it's not like I have the menu up that often anyways so just a thought. The fit to the wall is stunning. It looks so clean up against the wall, especially if you have the wires running inside the wall. This would be great in almost every room but even more so in the room where I didn’t want the TV to be the centre piece, it looks very elegant and doesn’t make the lounge look like a dedicated TV room. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another breathtaking TV from LG! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a Gallery version this is designed to be wall mounted, therefore it doesn’t come with a stand. This was easy enough to install, using the template as a guide and securing it to the wall studs (weight 22.5kg). We built in power and Sky Q Mini housing behind the screen (Wi-Fi strength tested). The slim design allows plenty room for sliding door use. Few things a must, connect to internet 5ghz, update software and leave on auto update. For the T+C I selected ok to all and tailor viewing recommendations. Out of the box settings were ok, but I decided to calibrate a few settings including turning energy saving mode off. Popular apps - Netflix, Disney+ and Prime TV are shortcut buttons on the remote, which are extremely handy. We had to download YouTube as this is a family favourite. The OLED has a noticeable glossy screen compared to my previous LED TV. We had to change to flush ceiling lighting (dimmable) and blackout blinds to avoid reflections. With these changes in the room, now OLED showcases amazing shadow, contrast and true black. Also the wider viewing angle gives amazing picture quality. The viewing height and distance is perfect 84”. We haven’t used it with the games console yet, on the to do list! The OLED has full features of Game optimiser compared to the QNED which was great, so no doubt this should be amazing. The magic remote in our opinion a feels a little too light, it does take time to get used to. However controlling with LG ThinQ app is spot on! We have had the TV for up for a few weeks now and there still lots more to discover!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG G1 Upgrading from a 55inch Qled TV 4 years old I was was amazed at how much choice there is out there with tv's. Took me 2weeks of research to narrow it down to 3 tv's and finally the G1 came home. Not cheap. I got the 65inch model and it's picture quality is amazing. The sound quality very good I have a Sony sound bar which I've not used yet because the sound from the TV is quality it's good 60watts. The design of the TV on the wall well what can I say money well spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow - Thw Image Quality For years I have been plagued with poor image quality, patches on grey where there should have been black. Delight to say I can enjoy the content as the image is superb - well done LG.
