World-first, triple up-firing soundbar for a deeper dimension in sound
Matched to its three front channels of sound (left, centre, right), the LG S80QR has three upwards-firing channels. These give an added dimension to the sound, reflecting it from the ceiling for a far more immersive, cinematic soundstage.

Good but not as good as an AVR surround system.
I bought this as part of a tv deal having elected to dispense with a Denon AVR and speaker home cinema system as it cluttered up the lounge and reading Which? soundbar revues. It makes a huge difference to the tv sound especially when viewing streaming services such as Apple TV and Netflix or using the Sony dvd player. The space gained and lack of wiring ( rear speakers are wired to Wi-Fi blue tooth box but hidden behind sofa) is a big improvement and the Chief of Domestic Staff is pleased! Sound quality is way better than the tv as expected and it makes a good fist of providing surround sound features although, despite the claims and upward firing speakers I am not convinced about Dolby Atmos. The clear voice option works well to the point of not having to use hearing aids all the time. The subwoofer is large and the sound well modulated. The speaker sets can be separately volume adjusted via the app but there is no graphic equaliser function just some pre-set options. Be aware that this has a 2-year warranty as it is WiFi connected to the rear speaker receiver box, so when you register the product with Domestic & General make sure they understand and annotate their records……they tried to pass me off with a one year warranty so be careful. The price paid through the Richer Sounds offer would, on reflection having listened to it, be the very maximum I would pay for this soundbar. Overall, it was a good purchase as a step down from the AVR.

First impressions are good.
Having just taken delivery 4 days ago and installation carried out yesterday I have not time to really assess the full potential of this sound bar. However having said that I am impressed with the quality. The fact that the 2 rear speakers are wired is a bit of a disappointment but it is not a game changer.

Great soundbar at the discounted price
I bought this as a half price offer with the LG C3 OLED tv. It replaces the LG SK8 soundbar that I was previously using and is quite a big improvement on that.
The Dolby Atmos feature works well for a soundbar implementation and the two rear speakers add a level of sound immersion that is worth having. The sub is also a noticeable improvement on the previous one and provides a very powerful bass response giving a cinema like experience; that is if you can use the system at an appropriate volume level without disturbing the neighbours!
Very good performance at the half price I bought this at, although there may be better alternatives if you have to pay the full price?

Purchased LG Soundbar to go with my new LG TV. Great service from Richer Sounds in Purchased this soundbar because I had to return the Denon Soundbar which would not work with LG TV. Jon was very helpful with advice and demo's of alternative systems. Thank you Jon and Tom for your help and advice. Only down side so far is unable to use with alexa, but still working on getting that working.
