The famous C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter now has a new Uniform Dispersion Waveguide II. This is designed to give a more natural and lifelike sound, with less distortion. The 8" bass cones and 3" mid-range units feature the latest version of Monitor Audio’s distinctive RST (Rigid Surface Technology). Inspired by the Japanese art of Origami, RST II uses lightweight cones that are made more rigid by complex surface pressings. The result is sound that’s fast to respond and that gives a powerful sense of rhythm.

The secret to the Silver 500’s powerful bass is response is not just in the size of its cabinet, but also the twin C-CAM RST II bass drivers. Adding an extra bass driver effectively doubles the amount of air being shifted and takes the bass from deep to mighty. Available in a range of premium real wood veneers and high gloss finishes, the Silver 500 7G are amongst the most attractive and best-finished speakers in their class. Just unpacked these lovely Speakers. Not even run in so to speak but what a sound. Should of upgraded long time ago. You only realised what you are putting up with over the years until you replace your system with these speakers.

Fabulous sound, fabulous looks
I’ve had these for around a week. It took a couple of months for them to become available but boy was it worth the wait.
After spending a little time getting them set up about a couple of feet from a back wall we’ve been using a variety of sources, cd, vinyl, streaming and the sound from each via a Cambridge 81 is fantastic. Throughout the whole of Herbie Hancock’s River album you can hear Wayne Shorter blowing on his saxophone reed. Placement of musical instruments is precise inside a huge soundstage.
They’re not cheap but in terms of bangs for your buck they are such fun that they’re a bargain
