Monobloc, balanced design for sonic purity
Configured as two, independent monoblocs, the M6s PRX separates the left and right circuits for a purer sound. By having separate channels for the right and left signals, you get less interference between the two, giving a purer, less distorted and more spacious sound. As a fully balanced design, you get incredibly low levels of distortion – especially when connected via the XLR balanced inputs.

Class-leading power
With a punchy 230 watts per channel at its disposal, the M6s PRX isn’t troubled by large spaces, inefficient speakers or high volumes. Even at lower volumes, however, that power makes its presence felt. Like driving a car with an oversized engine, the power is always there – even at lower volumes. Choke-regulated power supply for ‘big speaker’ sound
More usually a feature of valve amps, choke regulation gives the M6s PRX a unique sound. Used by Musical Fidelity since 1987, choke regulated amps dramatically reduces power supply noise and acts as an effective mains filter. With twin sets of speaker outputs, bi-wiring is easy – even with thicker cable. The line output socket lets you loop sound, making bi-amp and tri-amp systems easy to configure. Two sets of switchable inputs let you switch between systems, such as stereo and AV systems.

Designed to partner M6 or M8 Musical Fidelity power amps, the Musical Fidelity M6s PRE is a high quality pre-amp with a premium specification. The fully balanced design with Class-A circuitry ensures the signal losses as little quality as possible.

Fully balanced, Class-A design
Featuring balanced input and output sockets and balanced circuitry between them, the M6s PRE delivers studio-grade performance. Making the most of the balanced design, Class-A circuitry, with SMD (Surface Mount Devices) enhances the signal. By using a fully balanced, Class-A design, distortion is cut to an absolute minimum, letting tiny details in the music shine through.

Wide range of inputs
With two XLR balanced and four line level RCA inputs, the M6s PRE handles all your sources. For recorders there’s a line out. Further connectivity highlights include USB-B and phono.

Connect your computer via asynchronous USB-B
Another star feature with the M6s PRE is the asynchronous USB interface. This type of USB interface is the best for computer audio as it bypasses your computer’s built-in soundcard and instead utilises the high quality 24-bit DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) built into the M6s PRE. With the amp effectively controlling the output from your computer, it can deliver audio from your computer to its highest potential.

Built-in MM/MC phono stage
As well as the USB interface and other inputs, the M6s PRE comes with a superior quality MM/MC (Moving Magnet/Moving Coil) phono stage. This improves on the lower models by suiting a wider range of cartridges, including the rarer but higher quality MC type. Whichever type of cartridge you use, the low noise phonostage delivers impressive detail and balance – just like the rest of the amp.

ARAY technology
The Clearway interconnect uses the same ARAY conductor geometry that was first used on the Chord C-line – with upgraded materials. The ARAY geometry conductors are heavier gauge oxygen free copper, insulation has been upgraded to FEP and the shielding is a dual-layer counter-wound heavy gauge foil design.

More realistic sound
The improvements mean that the Clearway carries more musical detail. Dynamics are better, instruments and voices sound more realistic and there is better definition and clarity. The Clearway will let you see further into and get more involved with the music you listen to.

Studio quality XLR plugs
The design of the Clearway Analogue cable means that the ARAY conductor configuration is adapted to produce a particularly good XLR terminated cable. The design allows using identical conductors for the hot, cold and earth connections. This allows us to produce an exceptionally neutral and musically transparent Clearway Analogue XLR cable. The Clearway analogue is fitted with Neutrik silver-plated XLR plugs.
