Be surrounded by sound – with 9 channels and support for more
For a wide choice of speaker configurations, this premium Onkyo AVR has no fewer than 9 powered channels. Choose between 7.2.2 or 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos speaker configurations with two or four ceiling speakers. Alternatively, stick with 5.2.2 and power a second pair of speakers in another room or bi-amp your main pair of speakers. As your system grows, so the capability of this Onkyo grows with it.

Upgrade to 11-channel surround
Add an extra stereo power amp and the Onkyo becomes truly cinematic – with mighty 11-channel sound. This lets you configure four ceiling or Atmos-enabled speakers as well as full 7-channel surround sound, giving true 7.2.4 channel Atmos sound.

All the 3D sound formats you need
Whatever speaker configuration you decide upon, the TX-RZ50 has a surround format to suit. Compatible formats include IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X plus Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Neural:X for up-mixed audio. This wide range of options means you can adapt your surround sound speaker system from the simplest system with ‘virtual height’ speakers to full-blown 11.2 system that truly brings the cinema to your front room.

Acoustic room correction by DIRAC Live
Thanks to state-of-the-art digital room correction from DIRAC, the TX-RZ50 offers pro-level room optimisation. DIRAC live uses a USB microphone (not included) and dedicated PC software to take multiple readings around your room and feed the information back to the amplifier for a completely bespoke response (professional set-up recommended).

Klipsch Optimise Mode
Unique to Onkyo, the TX-RZ50 sounds even better when partnered with Klipsch Reference and Reference Premiere speakers. Collaboration between the two companies has resulted in the implementation of precise crossover vales being incorporated into the Onkyo. This means that you get optimised sound quality, at the touch of a button.

8K and 4K/120Hz compatible HDMI interface
With three HDMI inputs, the main output plus the Sub mode HDMI output all supporting 8K and 4K/120Hz, this is the ideal AVR for your 8K TV and the latest gaming devices. A further four HDMI (4K) sockets are fitted for older devices, with one handily positioned at the front. The TX-RZ50 also supports the latest copy protection standard, HDCP 2.3.

Three zone, multi-room flexibility
With a 5.2 channel cinema system in play, you can use the spare channels to add two additional powered zones. Zone 2 and Zone 3 can either be synced with the main signal for ‘party’ sound or play from separate sources – giving the TX-RZ50 true multi-room appeal. Passive outputs for Zone 2 and 3 are also available should you already have amplification or active speakers in place.

Stream it your way, with Apple AirPlay 2 and ‘Works with Sonos’
Much more than just an AV receiver, the TX-RZ50 is also a comprehensive music streamer. Apple AirPlay 2 is standard as is ‘Works with Sonos’. Integrated Amazon Music, Spotify (Premium account required for full features), TIDAL and Deezer are all available, too. There’s also Chromecast and DTS Play-Fi plus TuneIn for Internet radio and Bluetooth music streaming.

Works with Sonos
‘Works with Sonos’ certification means that this Onkyo seamlessly integrates with your existing Sonos system. Once connected to a compatible Sonos product (Sonos Port), you can group the receiver with other Sonos devices or use it independently. Working with Sonos means as soon as you start playing music from your Sonos app, the Onkyo switches on and automatically selects the correct input.

Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
For the latest in smart home tech, Onkyo have made the TX-RZ50 compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply connect your compatible device and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform basic functions. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.

DTS Play-Fi for effortless streaming and multi-room
DTS Play-Fi is a premium, wireless control system that brings everything under one 'roof'. Download the free app and you'll not only have access to Internet radio but also popular music apps such as Spotify, Tidal, Deezer and Napster.
