Featuring super-efficient DuraCore laser technology, the CinemaX D2 is at the cutting-edge of projector design. Laser power offers key advantages, the first of which is the picture with superb levels of contrast (1,800,000:1) and colour realism (Rec.709 colour gamut compliant). The design should last far longer than a typical projector bulb and provide a more consistent performance over its lifetime.

With HDR10 and HLG compatibility, the CinemaX D2 Smart is the ideal match for your UHD Blu-ray player and other 4K HDR video sources. HDR not only offers deeper blacks, brighter whites and more vibrant colours, but also subtler images, too. So what looks like an area of solid black on an inferior projector, is shown to have shade and texture, previously unseen.

Native UHD 4K resolution for lifelike detail
Making the most of HDR10 compatibility is UHD 4K resolution. Projecting at this resolution gives detail and realism that's impossible to achieve with conventional Full HD resolution. UHD 4K resolution is four times greater than the more conventional 1920 x 1080 Full HD projectors and it's a difference you can easily see on a large projection screen. Astonishing detail and the sharpest definition make this the perfect projector for nature documentaries, sports and cinematic movies.

Enhanced gaming
It’s not just movies and TV that are transformed by a big screen, gaming is too. Featuring an Enhanced Gaming Mode, the Optoma CinemaX D2 Smart sharpens up your gaming experience. Response time is just 16ms at 4K/60Hz and 4ms at 1080p resolution/240Hz. The low input lag means that you’re always quickest to the draw and ahead of the pack.

Punchy audio
Easily matching most TVs, the CinemaX D2 Smart projector uses a quad speaker array and 20 watt amp to produce punchy, room-filling audio. For sound that truly matches the big picture, the D2 Smart features eARC HDMI that supports Dolby Atmos pass-through – perfect for connecting to a compatible soundbar or home cinema system.

Smart, Android TV
Supplied with Android TV, you get instant access to over 400,000 movies, TV shows, games and apps. Choose from a huge range of catch-up TV services, including your favourites, such as the BBC iPlayer, Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix and YouTube. A vast range of other apps from The Google Play store gives you near unlimited access to movies, shows and games.

Google Assistant voice control
Another benefit brought by the Android TV box is Google Assistant. At a press of a button, you can ask Google to search for latest blockbuster, boxset or game. Ask questions and see the response shown on the screen. When used with compatible devices it will even dim the lights and operate the heating.

Easy setup
If you have an uneven wall or the projector is at an angle to the screen, the built-in geometric correction tool helps correct the image - simply adjust the image until perfectly rectangular. Vertical and horizontal keystone correction (10%) further helps the picture alignment.

Wall colour adjustment
Although the best results are achieved when using a dedicated screen, the CinemaX D2 Smart can be used by projecting directly on the wall – even those that aren’t painted white! Use the Wall Colour setting to scroll through six options for projecting onto coloured walls – including light yellow, light green, light blue, pink and grey walls.
