Big screen entertainment without the BIG TV
The Optoma UHZ65UST gives you big screen entertainment without needing a big room or a huge TV. This ultra-short throw projector is designed to work at very close range to a wall or screen. Simply place on a bracket, shelf or sideboard in front of the wall and you’ve got instant big screen entertainment – whatever the size of room. You can enjoy an image from 85 – 120 inches, with the projection just 47 – 66cm from the wall.
Laser power comes to the ultra-short throw projector
Using Texas Instruments’ DMP DLP system with a laser phosphor light, the UHZ65UST is at the cutting-edge of projector technology. This offers many advantages, the first of which is the picture with superb levels of contrast (2,000,000:1) and colour realism. The design should last far longer than a typical projector bulb and provide more consistent performance over its lifetime.
HDR – the perfect match for your UHD 4K Blu-ray player
With HDR10 and HLG compatibility, the UHZ65UST is the ideal match for your UHD Blu-ray player or other 4K HDR video sources. HDR not only offers deeper blacks, brighter whites and more vibrant colours, but also subtler images, too. So what looks like an area of solid black on an inferior projector is shown to have shade and texture, previously unseen.
Native UHD 4K resolution for the ultimate resolution
Making the most of HDR10 compatibility is UHD 4K resolution. Projecting in this resolution gives detail and realism that's impossible to achieve with conventional Full HD resolution. UHD 4K resolution is four times greater than the more conventional 1920 x 1080 Full HD projectors and it's a difference you can easily see on a large projection screen. Eye-popping detail and the sharpest definition make this the perfect projector for UHD viewing.
Super-bright for ‘lights on’ viewing
Thanks to a class-leading brightness figure of 3500 ANSI Lumens, the UHZ65UST is flexible enough for all room environments. Even during daylight conditions with curtains or blinds open, the Optoma produces a bright, natural picture. Now you can enjoy big screen entertainment at any time of the day, without having to keep the sun out.
Superior audio – with built-in NuForce speaker system
Unlike most other projectors, the UHZ65UST comes with a top quality speaker system built-in. Developed in conjunction with audio experts, NuForce, the high quality speaker array is a match for many soundbars. Aluminium, stereo speakers provide plenty of detail and are backed up by additional woofers to deliver the power that action movies require. Isolated speaker enclosures help reduce distortion. For the full cinema effect, the integrated soundbar is compatible with Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus.
Your music sorted - use as a Bluetooth speaker
Thanks to built-in Bluetooth, you can also use the audio system as a Bluetooth, audio-only speaker. Simply pair your smartphone or tablet and stream all your favourite music. To save power and lamp life, the laser is switched off in audio mode.
Voice control ready
If you own an Amazon Echo or Google Home device, then controlling this projector is just a voice command away. Ask Alexa or Google to turn the projector on/off, adjust the volume, change the input and more.
Using the built-in App store Marketplace, you can access a wide range of entertainment apps, giving you effortless control from your smartphone or tablet. Netflix, YouTube and Spotify are just three of the most popular apps that are ready to go. Note – Google Play services not supported.
SmartFIT app for the perfect image
If you have an uneven wall or the projector is at an angle to the screen, SmartFIT helps correct the image. Using your smartphone or tablet, you can individually control each corner of the screen for a perfectly aligned image.
For a simple, all-in-one solution to immersive sound and vision, switch to the Optoma UHZ65UST.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RKT1 from Outstanding I made the decision to purchase the Optoma UHZ65UST projector and Sapphire SALFS221WSF 100-inch ALR screen after several in-store demonstrations of various projectors and screens. The above combination best met my needs and once set up in the right position at home which was a little tricky, but I suspect all UST projectors are, it performed beautifully. A clear bright and vibrant picture even with the light from a south facing bay window at mid-day to compete with. I am looking forward to tweaking the projectors various setting just to see what else it can do. This projector delivers everything I need to enjoy film at any time of the day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheRealTimtastic from Great picture and sound, poor user interface I had this on trial, to see if it works on a plain wall in a room with a fair amount of ambient light. Yes, it does that, picture quality is great and would be even better with a screen. It's big (think of a stack of 4 PS4's), a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures, which isn't a problem for me, but might be an issue for some. The thing that lets it down are the apps that come with it. YouTube for example, isn't really YouTube but some sort of YT viewer, that doesn't work very well. None of the apps in the Optoma marketplace work particularly well and to be honest, I almost returned it as was so disappointed. However, I plugged my Roku + stick in and that makes everything work brilliantly. Happy to keep it now, but loses a star because at this price you shouldn't have to buy something else to make it work properly. Come on Optoma, you need to do better than this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Henry F from Really brings the cinema home Delighted with our purchase. The projector provides a wide range of choices depending on ambient light and viewing material. Sound is superb, wonderful clarity, though we will be setting this up with 5.1 surround. While some reviews criticise some of the in built apps, this really doesn’t matter as 4K input can be streamed via a amazon fire stick. Really happy with how the device upscales Blu Ray and regular HD content so our old player is not redundant. We’ve also added a Freeview sat box so have the choice to view tv content. V happy with the purchase. Lastly, the service from Richer Sounds is second to none. Thanks again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SupportMonkey from Superb Product, amazing picture quality Purchased through the Cambridge store, the Optoma UHZ65UST is just amazing and pretty much plug and play straight out of the box, don't get confused between the P1 and the new P2 models, the UHZ65UST is the European model and has a greater contrast ratio and brightness than both, luckily for me I have this installed in a dedicate room with no windows and controllable lighting but even with the lights on full the image is still incredibly clear, I had not yet built a projector screen so was just trying it on a dark wall and was very impressed so am expecting it to be even better when the screen is installed, the adjustments to the screen work well however with this being short throw you will need either a very flat wall or fixed frame screen to remove all the wobbles. Screen size can be adjusted by moving closer or further away from the wall and there is also focus adjustment options within the Optoma software, there is no manual focus dial but it didn't need any adjustment out of the box, I suspect most will already have a sound system to connect to but this is not a requirement as the built-in soundbar is more than up to the task even at full volume, I was able to plug in a remote keyboard with no issue although the simple remote is very user friendly with an arrow\pointer option onboard. I was also able to connect to my remote storage directly from the projector with ease and you have the choice of WiFI or RJ45 if you have a wired network, only two downside for me, firstly the built in apps, they are fine for general use but if you want real clarity you probaly want to invest in a decent media streamer, and secondly, you need a media unit high enough to put the image up the wall, i found it needs to be sitting on a unit at least 450 to 500 high to get it at wall mounted TV height, all in all though an amazing projector which is Optoma were to sort out the availible apps really could take over from a TV

Rated 5 out of 5 by Collana88 from TV Killer...! I’ve had this amazing projector for three weeks. I recently moved house, and was looking at a 65” award winning TV. Then I heard about this projector. I did my research online and decided to purchase. My opinion? It’s simply phenomenal. I have it set up with a 106” Sapphire tab-tensioned screen and the picture is stunning. Please note that a normal motorised screen will not do this projector justice (I tried) - despite the excellent warping adjustment software, the picture will still warp; particularly on box menu screens on Sky etc. The difference between normal and tab-tensioned is remarkable. Online reviews state that the pre-loaded apps aren’t very good. This doesn’t matter to me as I stream all of my Netflix/Prime/Disney+ via Sky or my 4K Blu-Ray player. The picture in daylight is wry good; where this projector really excels is at night - the colours really ‘pop’. My projector is placed about one foot from the wall onto which it projects to produce my 106” image. Highly recommended.
