Based on the legendary OM 5E model, the Ortofon Super OM 5E uses enhanced technology to supercharge the sound.
A legend made better
The Ortofon Super OM 5E uses the standard 5E model as its basis, but with added tech. Using split-pole pin technology from the 2M range, the Super has a flatter frequency response. What this means for the sound is a more natural and cohesive balance, with the musicians ‘gelling’ better.
Upgrade when you’re ready
The detachable stylus can be changed at any time (at additional cost) for other models in the OM range. Move up the range and get a sound improvement with each and every model. Compatible upgrades include the Stylus 10, Stylus 20, Stylus 30 and Stylus 40.
Upgrade to 78
If you’ve got a collection of 78rpm records, it’s easy to upgrade the OM cartridge to play them. Simply purchase the Stylus 78 (at additional cost), slide it into place and you’re ready to go.

Clean for classic Bowie
I fancied an upgrade to the standard Ortofon OM 1S that came with the ProJect Primary E, having bought Scary Monsters and Ziggy Stardust, plus my all-time favourite Hunky Dory. The Super OM 5E definitely worth it, giving a music clearer and relaxed listening experience.
