A fresh new style and impressive digital connectivity make the Cambridge CXA60 a class-leading contender.
QUALITY ENGINEERING FOR PRECISE SOUND QUALITY
At the heart of the CXA60 amp is a super-efficient, fully symmetrical Class A/B amplifier. This ensures a precise, even sound with excellent separation between the right and left channels. Powering the amp is a large toroidal power transformer. Renowned for their low noise, high efficiency and superior sound quality, the transformer helps give the CXA60 its powerful, dynamic sound and a healthy 60 watts per channel power output. This is enough to drive most speakers to high levels in all but the very largest rooms.
BUILT-IN DAC FOR DIGITAL DELIGHT
The Cambridge CXA60 has been designed from scratch to work just as well with your digital sources as it is your analogue ones. This means that Cambridge have gone to the trouble of fitting a high quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) inside the amp. Usually found in their dedicated DacMagic range, the Wolfson WM8740 DAC chipset offers high quality sound that could actually improve the sound of your existing digital sources. With two optical digital inputs and one coaxial one, you can connect up to three digital sources, such as games console, TV and a CD transport such as the matching Cambridge CXC.
Add the optional Cambridge BT100 Bluetooth dongle (cost option) and you'll be able to enjoy Bluetooth connectivity with your Smartphone, tablet, laptop, computer or other compatible device. Not only will the music from your Bluetooth device sound superb through the unit's sophisticated DAC technology but it is also compatible with the higher grade Bluetooth aptX CODEC - used on many of the latest devices. This enhanced form of Bluetooth transmission is designed to give the highest audio quality and gets the closest yet to a conventional wired connection.
FLEXIBLE ANALOGUE CONNECTIVITY
Just because it has class-leading digital connectivity doesn't mean that Cambridge has forgotten about analogue connectivity - far from it, in fact! The Cambridge CXA60 has four line level inputs: easily enough for the vast majority of systems. An added bonus is the 3.5mm, front-mounted input. This is perfect for connecting up your MP3 player or smartphone for quick and convenient playback. Other handy connections include an RCA subwoofer output, headphone socket and connections for two pairs of speakers.
The CXA60 is part of the totally redesigned CX-Series. The distinctive tear-drop profile gives the CXA60 a contemporary look and makes it the ideal partner for the matching CD transport and network player. Yet it's far more than just a good-looking case; it helps the sound quality, too. With rigid, metal construction and low-resonance design, the casing helps shield the amp from both mechanical and electrical interference, helping to improve clarity and reduce background noise.
For an amplifier that treats all your music sources, whether digital or analogue, with the same high regard, the Cambridge CXA60 is a talented all-rounder.
