Ten years on, not much improvement
This DVD player cost double the previous one, which was slow to power on and eject. I had hoped that these things would have been improved, but they were not. I don't know what I'm getting for the extra outlay. I can't make it communicate with my Sony TV to get rid of the black borders (horizontal and vertical) from some DVDs which played fine on my old Sony DVD/TV. I'm an engineer, and have been using video products for 40 years... so why is it now more difficult than before to get a good picture? Too complicated, not enough industry co-operation, perhaps? A disappointing "upgrade". Not necessarily a bad mark against Panasonic, more a complaint about the lack of co-operation within the industry. Please sort this out.

I use it mainly when my wife goes to work, I'm retired and my main interest is movies, streaming is ok, but when you want to watch a movie as the director intended,then you can't beat a hard copy dvd/Blu-ray, especially or the extras.
