Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed.

Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.

"The RX-V581 is an exciting amplifier, and the way it handles bass and sound effects is sure to whet the appetite of any home cinema fan." 'What Hi-Fi? magazine'. 5-star review. Tested at £500.

Ready for DTS:X

DTS:X is the flagship processor from this highly respected tech company. It literally pushes the boundaries of what you can expect from home cinema. This highly sophisticated processor renders images in three dimensions that conventional processing can't match. It also offers other advantages such as the ability to boost the spatial effect of conventional DTS and easily adapts with your existing speaker configuration.

Dolby Atmos
Optimised for Dolby Atmos, you can be amongst the first to experience the wonder of Dolby Atmos in your own home. Producing a multi-dimensional and totally immersive sound, Dolby Atmos has been hailed as the greatest advance in surround sound for 20 years - so don't miss out!

Hi-Res Audio playback
At the heart of the Yamaha's digital processing are top quality Burr Brown DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertor). These not only provide punchy and lifelike sound but also facilitate the playback of High Resolution audio formats. The RXV581 is compatible with a wide range of HD audio formats, including DSD 5.6 MHz and FLAC 192kHz-24-bit for exceptional sound quality.

MusicCast for music all around your home
The Yamaha RXV581 is part of Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you can control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or tablet. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours. The MusicCast CONTROLLER app lets you operate the system around your home and change settings quickly and easily.

Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth
As well as MusicCast, the RXV581 also has built-in Apple AirPlay, letting you stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly. You can also view data such as song title, artist name as well as album art* via the AV receiver's on-screen display. *Some models don't support album art display. If you use another brand of smartphone or tablet then you've also got Bluetooth, for easy music streaming from your portable device.

Wi-Fi, DLNA and a smart app for effortless streaming
Connecting to your home network is easy with built-in Wi-Fi. A DLNA certified connection also makes streaming a breeze. You can access your stored music from PC, laptop or NAS drive and listen to Internet radio stations and music services such as Spotify. Another great feature is the downloadable Apple or Android app that lets you control many of the receiver's functions from your smartphone, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or tablet.

Crisp, punchy sound
By using a discrete amplifier with low jitter PLL (Phase-Locked Loop), distortion is exceptionally low and background noise very quiet. The amplifier also delivers a handy 80 watts per channel (6 ohms) for totally immersive sound. For an even punchier sound, try the 'Extra Bass' function. This gives a deeper, richer bass response and work really well with small speakers and at lower volume levels.

With full HDCP2.2 compatibility
The RXV581 has HDCP2.2 compatibility through all of its four HDMI inputs. Along with support for HDR and BT.2020, this means the RXV581 is fully equipped for handling the latest UHD Blu-ray players and HDR-equipped 4K TVs.

With Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and first-rate networking, the Yamaha RXV581 is a classic all-rounder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Full of Features I bought this with the Monitor Audio Mass package and what can I say. Great Receiver, the options are just endless. could do with more HDMI connections though, but overall very happy with the purchase. It's easy to setup and the sound it produces is very clean and right notes at the right places, Bass reproduction really worth it. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than adequate for my needs I needed to replace my existing Home Cinema amplifier as it could not handle Sky Q. I looked at various options and concluded this Yamaha would be my best options in respect to sound quality and price. The set up was easy to perform and what was even better, Geoff from the Sheffield branch came out within 3 days (on Easter Monday) and tweaked some of the settings to make it sound even better. He also demonstrated a few of the features I wasn't aware of. I am really pleased with the sound as I thought my old amplifier was good, but this one is much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic purchase After upgrading my 5.1 DVD system to a PS4 with soundbar I was really disappointed with the quality of the sound I was getting. I decided to purchase an AV reciever and, because of budget constraints, add to it as finances allowed. I really wanted a reciever that supported Atmos to future proof it and decided to pop for the Yamaha RX-V581. The sound quality is fantastic. I initially hooked it up to a pair of very basic hi-fi speakers and a 10 year old sub and instantly I noticed the improvement in quality. So much so that I went out and bought a center the next day and can not wait to hear what it can produce when I complete the 5.1 system and beyond. It now sits pride of place at the centre of my home entertainment system and I couldn't be more pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just a great amp The features are many and I may never use all of them, but the sound. Wow, through Dali Zensor 3s (front) Zensor 1s (rear) Zensor Vokal (centre) and an E9f sub, it is truly spellbinding. The power is impressive (my neighbours agree on this ;-) ) but it comes with delicacy and finesse. The Lambourghini from the Cannonball Run sounds like its driving through the living room, and Julia Roberts pouring out a glass of fizz could almost be seated on the sofa next to me. I'm very happy with this purchase. If you're thinking about buying one, then stop thinking and just do it. NOW!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very simple to setup with excellent features Purchased this product recently for a replacement of an old Cambridge Audio one that stopped working. The setup was a dream via the app on my generic fruit based tablet, especially like . I've got a basic set up at the moment with 2 front speakers and a sub, sound is great, so clear and lots of options to get it right for your environment. I have found a little lip sync issue when streaming from the X-Box which i'm yet to find a solution for. With Bluetooth, WIFI, HDR/4K pass through and Dolby Atmos, this makes for an inexpensive way to get quality sound distribution for the home entertainment system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Av unit Bought this to pair up with my new projector. Makes connecting blue ray player /Xbox 360 all together with a decent speaker surround system. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value I'm no audiophile, and this is my first AV receiver, really pleased with purchase and notice really big difference in sound from previous setup which was an lg blu-ray player/home theatre all in one. This receiver got 5 stars when it was £500 from What Hi-Fi, so at the current price is an absolute steal, really easy to setup, Apple airplay function works really well also. Not had chance to experience Dolby Atmos yet as I need another couple of speakers, but is ready for any future proofing. Big thanks to Lewis in the Bournemouth shop for his help and recommendation.
