"Marantz remains a master of the affordable CD player." 'What Hi-Fi? award winner'. 5-star review.
Better than ever sound quality Improving the sound quality of a class-leader is a tough ask, but that's exactly what Marantz have done with the CD6006. Featuring a new circuit layout, specially selected components and more rigid feet, the CD6006 sounds purer and more accurate than ever.
Still putting sound first At the heart of the Marantz CD6006 is a top quality Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC. Marantz has added its own HDAM SA2 output buffer and HDAM low pass filter stage, which are custom-designed to work to exacting standards, reducing noise levels and providing a highly detailed, accurate sound. The power supply features separate rectifiers on the analogue and digital circuitry for reduced interference between the two, while the casing has a double-layered bottom plate to virtually eliminate vibration.
Handy USB The CD6006 also features a flexible USB socket. In addition to playing back WAV, MP3, AAC and WMA files from your memory stick, it's also compatible with Apple iPod and iPhone devices. Once connected, your portable device will use the Marantz's high quality digital processing, so improving its sound too.
Get more from your headphones with the dedicated output If you use headphones for listening to your CDs then you'll love the CD6006. Featuring a dedicated, discrete headphone amplifier, you get a low noise, dynamic sound from your headphones. A separate volume gain control makes it easy to get the exact level you want. The dedicated amp makes it suitable for a wide range of headphones and promises superior sound quality over your smartphone or tablet.
Fully featured The large display offers up CD Text information and can be turned off or dimmed to reduce the visual distraction. Both optical and coaxial digital outputs are standard, letting you improve the sound still further with a separate DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor).
Delivering first-class sound quality through your hi-fi and headphones, the Marantz CD6006 is a music lover's dream.

Fantastic product for the price, or any priceBought this CD player purely on the great reviews it received in the hifi magazines. I bought it to replace a 15 year old arcam cd player, which had finally reached the end of the road. It was meant to be a stopgap until we had the living room decorated and modernised. However, this machine is so impressive, I very much doubt if I could get any better without spending serious money. I will be very tempted to build a new system around this CD player.

Ideal unitThis is just what I was looking for. The unit has a USB port in the front which most CD players don't have. I play my music in my car via USB and wanted this feature in a CD player . Has many other useful features too. Really good for the money.

Excellent Marantz CD PlayerThis purchase was to replace my old Arcam CD Player that had after many years of good service had finally stopped working. After searching the web for a new CD player I finally decided on the Marantz CD6006 and was not disappointed. My main interest in music is classical and jazz and it handles both superbly. It matches well with my Arcam Amplifier giving well balanced reproduction throughout. An excellent CD Palyer at a good price

High Quality, Low priceFor the money ( at the price Richer Sounds was selling for ) this player is a steal. If it was full RRP, it would still be worth it.

Easy to set up and OperateThe CD Player came with the Phono Leads, but I had already purchased higher quality leads. They were easy to connect to the Player and the Amp, and as the Player matched the Amp both could be controlled via the same Remote. The Sound is a vast improvement on my old player. My only grouch is that the Draw can only be opened via the control on the actual Player. There is no Remote button for this.

BREAKTHROUGH !Over the last 30 years I've been getting more and more disappointed with the reproduced sound quality of classical music via CDs (ie- in my living-room !)
About a year ago I started to study whether I could buy a new set of hifi equipment that could restore the beauty of it, for me.
- I expected to need to return to vinyl LPs, and have bought a new turntable, headphone amp, and headphones.
At the same time, I bought this Marantz CD player, mainly to hear my pop collection - BUT, as soon as I heard a classical CD on it, I was "blown-away" by the incredible transformation of the sound !
Even so, there were some disappointments through my 60 year old ears, and my combination of equipment -
but these have been largely "cured" by a new Atlas cables Equator Integra interconnect !
THANKS MARANTZ and Richer Sounds !!

Great solid soundJust a week into ownership, but I'm already very impressed with the fully detailed, solid sound and feel of the CD6006 player.
I've taken the analogue out through some QED graphite lines into my Yamaha RXA-1020 amp and bi-amped large Wharfedale Jade 5 speakers in a large room.
I'm finding new detail in my CD collection having had most of my music direct from my main server for the past few years.
The well recorded Eagles track from Out Of Eden, 'How Long' is particularly impressive. Fantastic sound stage with such great separation between all the instruments, but still a very musical and cohesive sound.
The player manages to perform the great trick of pulling out every detail whilst still remaining totally musical.
