"A winning combination of great sound and noise isolation make these AKGs ideal travel companions."What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision Award Winner 2015
Active noise cancellation for total involvement Combined with the super-soft ear pads, the active noise cancellation blocks pretty much all outside noise. If you travel by 'plane, train or coach, noise cancellation headphones make all the difference. Quiet sections of music are now audible and the whole travel experience becomes more restful than ever before.
Quality AKG sound With more of the music's detail to the fore, you don't have to turn the volume as loud. Yet, when you do want to crank up the volume, the N60NC's are more than ready. Au ultra-wide frequency response and high sensitivity means these AKG headphones can easily be driven to high levels by a modest phone or portable player. They also have a strong, powerful bass response that you'd expect from AKG.
Great travel companions Much thought has gone in to making the AKG N60 NC's the ideal headphones for music on the move. The N60 NCs can be re-charged from any USB port - ideal if you travel with a laptop. Once charged, the headphones are good for up to 30 hours - enough for the longest of journeys or a weekly commute. They'll also still work in passive mode, even when there's no charge left, meaning you need never be without music. With a solid construction and a unique 3D-Axis folding mechanism, the N60's have been designed for a tough life on the move. A carry pouch protects them when packed away.
Hear the music, wherever you are, with the AKG N60NC.
Are the headphones wireless? Optional requires a Bluetooth transmitter.
Do the headphones feature active noise cancelling technology to block outside noise?
Headphone sensitivity is measured in dB. The lower the figure, the more powerful the driving amplifier needs to be. Headphones for use on portables need to be of higher sensitivity than home hi-fi ones.
Impedance is measured in ohms and should be matched carefully to the driving amplifier for the best sound quality and reliability.
Frequency response is measured in Hz and gives an indication of how low and how high the headphones will go.
10 - 22,000
Length of cable supplied in metres.
Weight of headphones in grammes, without packaging.
The size and type of plug fitted and whether an adaptor is supplied. 3.5mm is standard on most portable devices whilst home hi-fi usually accepts 6.35mm (quarter inch) size plugs.

Open back headphones offer the most spacious sound but can leak sound, disturbing others. They also block less outside noise than closed back headphones
Closed back headphones block out more background noise than open back ones. They also leak less sound

Better still to have a charging socketIt would be better to have a separate charging socket so that the unit can be charged whilst in use.

Good audio quality and noise cancellationBought this for commuting. Light and comfortable. Good bass and trebles. Noise cancellation not vacuum like that of the Bose - which is why I bought this. Didn't want super efficient NC for commuting due to wanting to hear train announcements and sirens!

Excellent sound, lightweight and with effective noise cancelling feature .An excellent pair of on ear headphones, sound quality is first class and the noise cancelling feature is brilliant. Used them in a plane and train where all background noise was suppressed. They are light on the ear and are very comfortable for long journeys. Highly recommend.

Great style, audio quality and of course the noise cancellingI have used 3 previous AKG models over the years and the sound quality of this is right up there. Less bassy than the Y50s but a more true sound, and a better range than the Y45s. The noise cancelling works brilliantly on the London Underground, buses and I've done 2 plane journeys. Once you put them on you will not believe how you ever managed without noise cancelling headphones. This is especially noticeable on a plane where you can listen without your device volume having to be on full. You can actually just use the noise cancelling without turning on the music to block out sound on a journey which is an added bonus. The headphones are very comfortable for long usage. The look and feel (and weight) is very good while still being understated though as ever it would be good if AKG did a decent hard case rather than the token zip up soft one. The price is quite high if you are on a tight budget but the noise cancelling is well worth the extra cost.

Great pair of head phones for travel and officeI must admit I was a little dubious of buying a pair of headphones claiming they were able to cancel out pretty much all the outside noise, but when placed on your ears and switched on the transformation was very impressive, to the extent I then passed them around the office to demonstrate their ability to everyone else's agreement. The Compact travel case is a good complement but would have been better being a hard case, as you feel that the headphones are somewhat vulnerable to being squashed. The weight and feel of the headphones give the impression of a very high end pair of headphones. I have only had them for a week and hope the look is maintained and does not wear. The sound quality is always a key point for all headphones and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity and tightness of the bass. I tend to listen to a diverse range of music ranging from Operatic to Soft Rock to sublime and in all cases the headphones maintained composure.

Lovely set of cansOrdered these from Richer Sounds online and arrived swiftly. Ive had these for about a week now and am very happy with them! Ive tried the more expensive Bose QuietComfort 25 and prefer the AKG N60NC. The noise cancelling is fantastic (when i use them at work i cant hear anything outside and it cuts out all but the highest track screeches when I'm on the train!)
Although the quality of the sound cancelling is the most impressive feature the general sound quality is great too. I've picked up nuances in music I have listened to for years that i never realised were there. They are also very portable and comfortable on the ears (but can get a little warm after prolonged listening)
Overall a really nice pair of cans with a lovely design. Highly recommended

Comfortable, great noise cancellation and great sound, beautifully madeAs always, the service I received from the people at Richer Sounds in Holborn was second to none, and I did an extensive comparison of the NC60's with several other pairs of headphones at different prices.
Having now lived with the AKG NC60's for a week I can safely say I am delighted with them, and I think at the price Richer Sounds is selling them (£150 when I bought) they are extremely well priced. Certainly you can buy cheaper noise cancelling headphones and you can probably buy better sounding headphones (non-noise cancelling) at the price. Crucially though, the noise cancellation on these is effective but does not alter the sound too heavily, perfect for commuting on trains and the underground.
They are very well made, beautifully designed and very neutral in their tonal character. With slight equalization on your music player, I've found them to be perfect. Everything is clear and detailed. I would recommend these highly.

AKG quality of sound is as always very goodI bought these to supplement my other headphones to use predominantly in noisy environments such as aircraft. The quality of the headphones are not as good as the Audiophile headphones I use at home but are still of a very high standard. You can use them without noise cancelling but I find the sound is enhanced as well when switched on. The bass and treble range is very good. Noise cancelling is excellent and really does help. So much so I could hardly hear the outside noise at all.
Comfort is superb as I am not a fan of in ear and as these sit on the ear and still work well so much the better.
I am not sure how robust the headphones are but so fat no issue.
One huge criticism is how tight AKG are in providing a terrible "swimming hood style" case instead of something robust. (Particularly as they are intended for noisy environments like trains and planes) I luckily had a good case sat about. For the price should have come with one.
