"The noise-cancelling function is excellent and the sound quality superb. Wrap it all up in an appealing and innovative package and you've got a serious contender for best-in-class." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision Award Winner 2016.
Class-leading noise cancelling
If you've found previous noise cancelling headphones don't quite block enough sound out then you need to try the MDR1000x. Quite simply, they are industry leaders and block more noise than any previous Sony headphones. Crucially, they focus on actively blocking low frequency vehicle noise and mid to high frequency sounds, such as voices, making these headphones ideal at blocking out typical commuter noise.
SENSE ENGINE to let the noise in you want
Taking intelligent noise cancelation a stage further, these headphones let sound in when you want it. Quick attention mode lets you mute the music and hear a conversation, simply by touching the side of the headphones. Two-mode ambient settings are tuned to allow either some ambient noise, such as sirens or direct conversation through the noise suppressors. All this means you can keep your headphones on whilst still interacting with the outside world.
Bluetooth connection for wire-free comfort
With Bluetooth connectivity to your smartphone, tablet or laptop, it's easy to make a wireless connection with the MDR1000x headphones. Using Sony's LDAC technology the sound quality via Bluetooth is greatly enhanced. With approximately three times more data than conventional Bluetooth being transmitted, you can even enjoy High-Resolution music in exceptional quality. If you prefer, a wired connection is also included.
Optimised for High-Resolution Audio
As well as optimising the Bluetooth connection for High Resolution music, the MDR1000x also features other audio enhancements. With S-Master HX, the Sony's reduce distortion and let you hear all the detail from Hi-Res music. Powerful, 40mm drivers using LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) diaphragms mean the Sony's produce an intense sound, right up to 40,000 Hz.
Swipe and tap control
With gesture pads built into the sides of the headphones, you can play, stop and skip through music plus change the volume or activate your smartphone's voice assistant - all without having to touch your phone or any type of inline remote. The built-in microphone and HD voice support let you make handsfree calls in clarity - even in busy environments such as airports and stations.
Fitted with generously sized, pressure-relieving earpads and a padded headband, the MDR-1000x headphones offer comfortable, long-term comfort. The wireless freedom itself brings added comfort as you never need give a moment's thought to the cable and its routing. As you'd expect from top quality, noise cancelling headphones, they fold flat and come with a carry case plus in-flight plug adaptor.
With the Sony MDR1000x headphones you can rely on the very best sound, wherever your travels take you. http://www.blog.richersounds.com/product-review-sony-mdr1000x-headphones/
