The Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) effect
Using a single BMR drive unit and an additional woofer, the MIN 22 speakers give pinpoint accuracy and burst with detail right up to high volume levels. BMR technology combines the advantages of both flat panel and conventional speakers, so unlike some small speakers, they won't turn harsh or brittle when the sound gets intense. With a dedicated woofer unit built-in, the MIN22 offers even greater dynamics and scale of sound over the smaller MIN12 model.

Now in its fourth generation, the new unit uses a larger magnet for improved efficiency, while driver excursion has increased from 2.2mm to 4mm, giving enhanced lower-midrange for improved integration with a subwoofer. Wonderful service
Just bought the latest pair of Cambridge audio minx speakers. These are now the new rears for a surround theatre setup. Great sound in so many ways and greatly under used in the current setting given their capabilities. The previous rears were Yamaha wireless music casts which developed a fault after 4 years and whilst that was an irritation, the 6 year guarantee offered by richer sounds solved the problem. Replace the wireless speakers with Cambridge audio at little extra cost. Wonderful service by Kaz at the Oxford store. We will be back.

Great little speakers for Dolby Atmos
I picked these up to add Dolby Atmos to my system (front height). Whilst you wouldn't expect deep thumping bass from such small speakers, the sound quality from them is excellent. Dolby Atmos can be quite subtle at times, but it has nicely extended the 'sound bubble' and occasionally surprises us in a way when we first got surround sound ("was that outside/upstairs?" etc).
These soakers are compact, light and easy to mount (with the Cambridge Audio wall mounts). Binding posts are removable akin to banana plugs, allowing mounting close too the wall (or ceiling). Sounds wise, there's nothing below 100/120Hz, so set your crossover to the highest of these 2 your AV Receiver can do (mine offers 100 or 150Hz, so I've gone with 100Hz). Really good power for such an call speakers with a really wide sound dispersion.
Visually, these look nice and are discrete. Great addition to my 5.1 system (now 5.1.2 :-) ). Recommend!

Great little speakers
Bought the Cambridge Audio Minx Min 22 for the front and rear upper Atmos channels. While looking online I was put off at the cost of atmos speakers being offered on the market by the big known brands, so decided on the Min 22. While its not quite as good as having in-ceiling speakers, its the next best thing, opening up the sound stage I was lacking with just upward firing speakers. As usual, Richer Sounds customer service was excellent, price was better than competitors and delivery was quick. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

New surround speakers
Popped in to Stockport branch looking for additional Atmos speakers for a 5.1.2 system. Great service led to me choosing some fabulous small Cambridge Audio Minx speakers and getting lots of advice about matching to my existing speakers and placement in the room. Both the service from Richer Sounds and the speakers get a thumbs up from me.

Fantastic speakers!
I recently took delivery of two of these compact Minx22 speakers. I'm no audiophile and I was looking for something compact so as not to take up too much space in a small living room (~40m sq). I mainly use them for hi-fi and home DJing as well as for the TV in a 2:1 set up. Most people seem to use these for atmos speakers but I can honestly say that they are perfect for music in a small room. Mids and highs are crystal clear, but a subwoofer is essential (I have a Minx 200). The combined set up really packs a punch and is plenty loud enough. Everything from house to classical sounds great.
I have them on a couple of the tall Minx stands and I now intend to get another Minx22 as a centre/DJ monitor speaker.
I cannot recommend these highly enough for a small room set up (with a sub).

A MUST AUDITION FOR NEAR FIELD LISTENING
I have to be honest that my minx's are the very first iteration that have been in a cupboard for years as just stopped cutting the mustard as main system speakers though I loved them when i first got them.
Just setup an office and am using these on their stands with the smallest minx sub, the x200 and i have to say as a near field listening experience these speakers are absolutely superb, I mean really really good.
What's clear is the nearer you sit the better they get. I am sat perhaps 60 cms from them level with my ears, the sub on the inside of the left of the right speaker. There's loads of detail, great imaging, wide sound stage, immersive atmosphere and the little smallest x200 sub does an amazing job packing out the experience across the range, it's full range by most definitions and delivers at low volumes.
These speakers are widely sold for surround/home theatre or perhaps a discreet 2.1 stereo system but they have so much more to offer. I have a £10k listening room and i can honestly say whilst it's a very different way to listen to music, I am as engaged and excited by these as my main setup.
If you are an audio nut, have an office and want a setup that has minimal footprint, I can't tell you how insanely good these are and for £400-£500 i doubt there is a near field experience that will compete with less comprises, i.e. trying to position at ear level, right toe in and integrate with a sub small "bookshelf" speakers which will likely be ported and need more air to breath....
If it helps I am using an old marantz cr202 integrated system as the amp, a topping e30 dac usb'ed to laptop streaming tidal, schiitt loki+ as an eq to tidy things up, chord sarsen cable fits the stands nicely and great sound match with sub hooked up with chord clearway cable,

Perfect for L and R but not so good for centre
I previously purchased Cambridge Audio Minx MIN12 for rear surround and finally got round to purchasing a pair of Cambridge Audio Minx MIN22 for the front. Lovely speakers, lovely finish, weighty and match the tonal balance of the rears.
Reason for the 4* rating
I previously went to have a listen to the Cambridge Audio Minx MIN22 for front and centre a Richer Sounds showroom. The sales guy patiently spent an hour with me and tried various config changes on the receiver to get a good balance.
As a centre speaker it did not work for me, it simply did not produce enough sound and lacked clarity, perhaps it's my hearing. However, for front left and right - they are great!
