To ensure smooth, reliable and safe operation, make sure the resistance of your speaker, measured in ohms, is above the minimum quoted by your amplifier.
You can use bi-wire cable with these speakers for a more precise sound. Even if you don't use this straight away, it gives the option of an easy upgrade along the line.

"Looking for a top-quality sub-£500 standmount speaker? Ignore this one at your peril." - What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.
Revolutionary cabinet design Key to the ecstatic reviews of the Q Acoustics Concept 20 speakers is the cabinet design. Effectively, it's a cabinet within a cabinet, separated by a special resonance-cancelling compound called Gelcore that massively reduces the resonance of the cabinet for far less distortion. Proved to work by laser measurement, the Concept 20 simply sounds clearer, more natural and a whole lot more expensive than its price tag would suggest.
Smooth treble response The soft dome tweeter has a smooth and refined sound that, although detailed, never becomes harsh. It's also decoupled from the rest of the cabinet, meaning that it isn't affected by vibration from the bass woofer unit - yet another impressive touch.
Consistent bass The bass unit may be small, but its long-throw design offers up a surprising amount of power for its size. What's more, it's the quality of the bass that's hard to fault: precisely timed, textured and consistent, its response is truthful to the sound at all times.
Stylish design Big enough to fill a room with sound but small enough not to overwhelm it, the Concept 20s are ideally judged speakers. With their rounded corners they further soften their visual impact in your home and you can choose between gloss white or gloss black for the perfect dC)cor match.
Once in a while a hi-fi product comes along that redefines the class standard. The Concept 20 is just that product. If you're looking for speakers around this price, the Concept 20s simply have to be heard!
Are they bi-wirable? Separate earthing for bass and treble - when used with bi-wirable cable gives a more precise sound
Are they magnetically shielded? Allows speaker to be placed near a CRT TV/Monitor or sensitive magnetically stored data without the risk of damage.

Speaker Enclosure Type
Type of speaker enclosure. Infinite baffle cabinets are sealed and so are often less fussy about placement. Usually they do require a little more power to drive, though. Bass reflex speakers are usually more efficient than infinite baffle designs but may require more care in terms of placement. Rear port designs, in particular, usually need at least 15-30cm (6 - 12 inches) between them and the wall behind, for a balanced bass response.

Good Quality Compact SpeakersYou can read about the quality of these speakers on-line. They come up to the review standard and Richer Sounds beat all other vendors on price, so I am very pleased to get them £10 cheaper than anywhere else. I am running them with a Cambridge Topaz amp plus a Marantz CD 6006 player and I am just happy with the clear and defined sounds. Bought them in Cardiff.

Excellent speaker.I bought a pair of Dali Zenzor 1s before Christmas from Leeds.
But despite the good reviews we were disappointed. They were just too bright to the point of sounding harsh on some tracks. They guys at Leeds
were great. I tried all sorts of wire. I ran them when we were out. I ran them out of phase facing each other. I have owned many speakers over the years. But these are not suited to us. Dean at Leeds said bring them in and listen to a few more speakers. He spent a considerable amount of time with me. When I listened to the QA Concept 20s wow just what we wanted.
Good bass Clear top end without any harshness. Easy to listen to for long periods. Good looking too they fit in with all of our other units.
Buy with confidence.

Great sound and looksI was recommended these at RS Solihull, and bought on the strength of reviews. Having set them up at home, put on the blu-ray of Spectre, and was pinned to my seat. These are very warm and friendly with vinyl too, after testing all areas with Massive Attack, Motorhead, New Model Army and Whitehouse. A massive upgrade over my old speakers, and will definitely look at Q Acoustics again in the future.

Lovely depth of soundI am no expert but having expected a small time sound from smaller speakers than those they replaced I am delighted with the quality of sound.
Staff at Richer sounds very helpful and knowledgeable, great mid range product. I had set off to purchase speakers that cost around £150 and saw the range went up to thousands, but these speakers give a high quality sound at a mid range price.

Solid performing speakers with clever design and great soundI've only had these hooked up for 2 weeks so this review is based off the out of the box performance. Initial impressions are that these are very clear, bright performing speakers with great separation and sound stage. The sound is closer to clinical than necessarily warm - although this could be a result of the Denon receiver (I had considered Marantz which usually has a warmer sound). In any event, these are great speakers with very clever design but do benefit from proper placement and a good sound source. I suspect stands will further improve the experience. So far they have proven adept at playing any genre and more than adequate as a 2.0 home theatre setup. For anyone seeking a stylish yet compact home system then I highly recommend these speakers.

Great speakersI bought these to go with a new Marantz PM6006 and the combination sounds sublime. I can see why What HiFi liked them so much. The cabinets have a beautiful black gloss finish.
