Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.

"A plug-and-play turntable that's an absolute pleasure to listen to, with a built-in phono stage and USB output". 'What Hi-Fi? award winner 2016'. 5-star review.
Direct drive precision
Featuring a direct drive motor, the LP5 gives superb pitch stability. Combined with the cast aluminium platter and low resonance chassis, it gives the LP5 great musicality and low distortion.
Quality Audio Technica arm and cartridge
As one of the most recognised tonearm and cartridge manufacturers for decades, the arm and cartridge fitted to the LP5 are both top notch. The J-shaped tonearm is a classic AT design that's designed to minimise tracking error. Fitted with an exclusive version of the legendary AT95e cartridge, the LP5 is well suited to playing back a wide range of music with precison and detail.
Archive your records to PC or Mac via USB
With its USB output, hooking the Audio Technica LP5 to your PC or Mac is a moment's work. Connect the deck to your PC or Mac, use the supplied Audacity software and you can record all your vinyl to MP3. From here, the choice is yours. Load them on to your MP3 player or NAS drive, record on to CD or just have the records archived on your computer - whatever your choice, your LPs are now more accessible than ever before.
Built-in phono stage
Audio Technica have made it easy to hook up the LP5 to your existing system. A built-in phono stage means you don't have to have a hi-fi with a phono pre-amp built-in - any AUX input will work fine.
Hear your records in the quality they deserve - with the Audio Technica LP5.

Excellent Value for the Price
Most of my audio collection is now on silver disc or downloads, so in order to play my remaining vinyl - including quadraphonic albums - via my Denon surround receiver I needed something of quality to replace my ageing Project Debut.
When I spoke to James at the Southgate branch he agreed that this was an excellent unit and and pointed me towards searching on YouTube to assist with any problems setting up. Setting up in fact proved quite straightforward and it was not long before I was able to plug the unit in and listen to some great music. Here I hit the first snag - intrusive mains hum. However James' suggestion of trawling YouTube produced the answer - it appears that this is a common problem with the phono preamp built into the unit (not just on the LP5) and a better solution is to switch off the internal preamp and replace it with an external unit (had one in the loft!). This done the result was amazing - albums I thought familiar sounded completely different.

As previous reviews have stated, as long as you follow the instructions this is an easy set-up of equipment. I have connected this turntable to my Yamaha YSP2700 and the result is excellent. A great piece of equipment for the price

Bought this turntable a week ago and was easy to setup. I'm using an av receiver with it and have no problems at all. Great sound and find it better sound than streaming, much warmer sound.

I bought this when |I realised that I hadn't played any of my LP's for over a decade due to house moves and forgetting where my old turntable went. I read a few reviews and decided that for the money I was prepared to pay this was the best turntable available. It took some time to reacquaint myself with setting up what is essentially last century's technology but I am now happily listening to albums I haven't heard for some time and very satisfied with my purchase.

substance over style
Not as pretty as its more expensive carbon rival, but a far better sound, compared back to back. The fact that you can have two cartridges set up in their own head shells(£15 from online store) and swopover if required, appealed to me.
The power button at the back is a pain, thats the only down side.
Thanks to Todd at Maidstone for his patients in the demo room..Changing the setup .
Really pleased with the purchase
