At the cutting-edge of LED tech, the LG 55UH950v matches a stunning picture quality to complete 'hub' entertainment.

Super UHD with HDR Plus for stunning contrast levels

With their unique 'HDR Plus' technology, LG have pushed the abilities of 4K UHD resolution to the max. HDR (High Dynamic Range) Plus extends the range of colours for enhanced realism. It also delivers brighter whites and darker blacks, helping to give this TV stunning levels of contrast. A further benefit with the UH950V models is Contrast Maximizer. This uses powerful processing to deliver an even more natural and true-to-life picture.

Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this LG 55 inch TV can decode both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.

SDR to HDR conversion - the best possible picture from Blu-ray
Another unique feature with LG's HDR Plus technology is the ability to convert SHD (Standard Dynamic Range) video to HDR for near-HDR quality from all your standard High Definition sources. This means that Blu-rays and other FHD content has greater realism, more depth and sharper detail than ever.

Cinema 3D TV with 2D to 3D conversion
Cinema 3D TV is the popular passive 3D system from LG. Passive 3D TV is considered more comfortable to watch with less flicker. Other advantages include a wider viewing angle and brighter images. The glasses are great value (two are included with the TV) and also considerably lighter to wear. The lack of batteries onboard also means they don't have to be recharged. What's more, with 2D to 3D conversion, you can get the 3D experience with any program - whether filmed in 3D or not.

Powerful sound thanks to built-in subwoofer and Harmon Kardon tech
Developed in conjunction with AV and Hi-Fi experts Harman Kardon, the 55UH950V's audio system offers a step-up from the average 'thin' flatscreen TV sound. With its powerful 40 watt amp and built-in subwoofer, this TV has richer and more powerful sound than less well equipped TVs. ULTRA Surround is also standard and gives a more spacious and immersive sound.

The best smart interface is better than ever with webOS 3.0
Widely acclaimed as one of the best smart TV interfaces, LG's webOS 3.0 operating system is now better than ever. WebOS 3.0 uses superimposed icons, folders and side bars for clear and easy access to smart content without leaving the current screen image. New to webOS 3.0 is the ability for split screen viewing, letting you watch live TV and Blu-ray, for example, at the same time. Other new features include LG smart appliance control and access to the LG Music Player app playing through the TV's speaker system - even when it's turned off.

Freeview Play for catch-up TV
Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside over 60TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

New "Magic" tech
Linking in with the new webOS 3.0 system is a range of "Magic" features. These include Magic Zoom for screen magnification without loss of image quality. The Magic Mobile Connection lets you stream apps from your smartphone, straight to the TV, for seamless big screen entertainment. An updated Magic Remote will now also operate the power on your set-top box, giving effortless one-remote control of your TV.

The very best in sound, vision and smart technology, the LG 55UH950V is at the pinnacle of LED TV design.

LG 55UH950V is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good features but picture quality not to standard My old plasma has better picture quality than this one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good all rounder I have had this TV a ew weeks now so feel comfortable to review it. I found the clours a bit to rich for me so spend time trying to make it look more life like which I acheived. This TV shows a good natural picture. It has a few nice hdmi features one of which controls the AV amp. I found the the user interface a bit childish however very easy and clear with an online help. I find the EPG slow to load but it does show a preview of the station you are watching. As it has Freeview Plus this allows recording using a USB device but with a single tuner you can only record the channel you are viewing. Overall it shows a decent picture with good features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture, sound and features This is a good looking and fine performing appliance. The magic controller takes a bit getting used to and doesn't wholly integrate Sky box controls. However, sound is great and features are extensive. I was a bit hesitant buying an LG but all my concerns were blown away by performance. Last year's model but incorporates 3D which was a must for my DVD collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value HDR tv I was looking for a top HDR 4K TV , this was not the TV I originally wanted, but was within my price range. For the past six years I have had Samsung TV,s and was pleased with there quality and specifications. I was apprehensive buying a brand I was not familiar with but have to say the LG55UH950V has met all my expectations. The picture quality is very clear and crisp and the HDR upscale is very sharp and bright. This TV also has a Hardon Kardon speaker which is an added feature which enhances the sound experience. Blurays and 4K content have more defined realism with more depth and sharper images. Overall it's a great TV for the price

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Banding Issues Purchased this TV in March 2017. Has serious issue with Banding on all inputs, Very Annoying on panning shots in film and Nature Docs. Also PS4 suffers greatly on games. Advised by LG to turn on Motion Plus, regardless of the fact the unit has been calibrated. LG also advised that this is not a fault and is a problem with Grey uniformity... Expected Much better as was sold on a premium LED product. All in All disappointed with performance as would have been happy to spend more to get a better 4K TV. First experience Shopping with Richer Sounds, we will see how this progresses.
Date published: 2017-05-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by from go for the oled if you can I've had this TV for a couple of weeks now. Not overly impressed with the picture quality on anything other than uhd broadcasts. I find it quite hard to get the picutre right for different inputs - you have to keep altering the setting. Sound is good though even without a sound bar. Hopefully there will be more 4k content soon! Wish I'd gone for the oled now.
Date published: 2017-05-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 4k tv with slick design jaw dropping This tv wont dissapoint anyone as it is high end 4k tv. The two things that could have better are: it should be a 240 hz instead of 120 hz and 4 hdmi instead of 3. But the picture is crisp with billion rich colour.
Date published: 2016-11-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from All the bells and whistles but it's not a plasma I bought the 55" uh950 which Tim personally delivered on the following Saturday, brilliant service!! Out of the box, the picture is too bright with very unatural motion. This was fixed by using the 'expert dark room' settings someone had listed on AV Forums. The upscaling is pretty reasonable, even from SD. 4k demos on YouTube are another league. Haven't tried 4k discs yet. The sound is far better than expected as, some other brands would need at least a soundbar to be acceptable. My only gripes are the back (edge) lighting (have turned down to about 35 now), as it was still too bright and can be seen on movie black bars. The magic remote can be annoying but its pro's easily beat its' con's. The supplied instructions are minimal but most of the on screen OS and help stuff gets you there. As long as you accept the inherent led panel issues, its a good tv, otherwise, save up for a 2016 oled. Many thanks to Tim and Harry for their great advise, help and service.
