Featuring local diming and Wide Colour Spectrum, the Panasonic TX50EX700B gets closer to the real picture than ever.

Brilliant Contrast and Wide Colour Spectrum for superb detail

The Panasonic TX50EX700B is the first in their 2017 range with Brilliant Contrast and Wide Colour Spectrum enhancements. Just as the name suggests, Wide Colour Spectrum offers a wider palette of colours for an enhanced sense of realism. Brilliant Contrast ups the contrast level for deeper blacks and brighter whites.

Local dimming for the best picture from all sources
Equipped with Local Dimming, this Panasonic 50 inch TV makes the most of any images - whatever the resolution. Whether 4K UHD, 1080p FHD or standard definition, Local Dimming adjusts the brightness of the screen by zones. This gives greatly improved contrast, as the black sections of the TV can be darker and the whites brighter.

HDR now with HLG compatibility
The Panasonic TX-50EX700B is compatible with HDR (High Dynamic Range). HDR extends the range of colours for enhanced realism. It also delivers brighter whites and darker blacks, helping to give this TV stunning levels of contrast. HDR10 and HLG formats are both covered. HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma HDR) is a broadcast and user generated standard format that is set to become the standard for transmitting 4K signals.

Updated 1600 Hz BMR for a smoother response
Updated from a 1400 Hz to 1600 Hz BMR (Backlight Motion rate) panel, this 50 inch Panasonic TV offers even smoother motion than ever. This means that when watching action movies or sport, the TX50EX700B has the speed and clarity to keep up with the action without motion blur.

Smart operator and Voice Assistant
my Home Screen 2 and Info Frame screens offer an attractive and clear operating interface which is also easy to customise. By using clear, superimposed icons, it's easy to find the function you want. With just a few clicks you can get your favourite apps, web pages or even TV channels to appear on your own customised homepage. Crystal clear and easy to customise; this is how Smart TV should be! Voice Assistant means you simply have to speak into the controller to bring up content and search results.

Bringing it all together
When it comes to smart TV flexibility, the TX50EX700B has all the features you need. A wide range of web apps are complimented by a full web browser. DLNA certified streaming makes it easy to transfer music and video files from your home computer, laptop or NAS drive to the TV. Also standard is Swipe and Share functionality. Swipe and share lets you use the Panasonic VIERA app for smartphone media sharing. By using the app on your smartphone or tablet you can easily stream pictures, 4K videos and music straight to the TV - no cables required.

Freeview Play for easy access to catch-up TV
This Panasonic also features Freeview Play. This combines catch-up TV, on-demand services and live television to make it easy to watch what you want, when you want. It's free from subscription and compatible with existing broadband services, while BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, All 4 and Demand 5 are available without having to open specific apps, giving effortless scroll-back TV (requires broadband Internet connection with a minimum speed of 2Mbps).

A powerful performer, the Panasonic TX50EX700B has a better picture than ever.

PANASONIC VIERA TX50EX700B is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Knockout! Compared to its predecessor (Sony 40", about 7 years old) the picture quality is a revelation. Excellent upscaling makes even ordinary definition broadcast television look like HD, while HD signals look almost three-dimensional. The only minor downside is a little blurring that happens occasionally during fast movement, but considering the price, I can't mark it down for that. Loads of picture settings I haven't yet fiddled with. One other slight and unexpected improvement is the sound quality using the TV's optical connection to my AV amp + speakers. Viewing eg. 'Elementary' on Virgin cable, the dialogue is distinctly clearer with this TV. We used to have to resort to subtitles for some shows, and no longer need to do so. All in all, very, very pleased with my purchase. Richer Sounds in Guildford gave their usual exemplary service.
