SAMSUNG UE49KS8000 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So good, I bought two! The SAMSUNG UE49KS8000 is an excellent Smart TV - but that's not all - it also makes an stunning computer monitor - as long as you have the space, and a large enough desk for it. With this in mind, I actually found myself coming back to Richer Sounds to purchase yet another of these televisions - I've had the first for several months now, and have been very happy with the features it offers, twinning it with a Sonos sound bar for a little more oomph in the audio department. After doing some research on the interweb about using a 4K TV as a computer monitor, I had settled on a KS7000 to fulfil that role. I'd left it too late, however, and so plumped for a repeat purchase with the KS8000. Samsung have really got their act together as far as gaming settings are concerned, and so as long as your PC can output via HDMI2, you have a good chance of being able to use this beauty as a super large computer screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product excellent customer service Didn't initially go into store for this TV, was looking at a lower spec, but got a great "open box" deal, including the Samsung Ultra HD Blu-ray player K8500. The picture is simply STUNNING even just watching standard def TV programmes. It was so worth the extra ££. Haven't fully explored all the features of the TV yet but what I have used I really, really like. It connects easily to our wireless router so able to stream without any buffering issues as well. Added to this the Ultra HD Blu-ray player takes watching movies to the next level. We already had a Sony HT-XT3 soundbase which just enhances the whole experience. The sound is good just through the TV but through the soundbase it just takes it to that next level. Best of all was the customer service from Lewis & Matthew, cannot recommend Richer Sounds Chester enough, the staff appear to want to be there and want to help you rather than have to be there or just doing their job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good picture and suprisingly good sound for a thin TV. Compared to the TV’s I’ve recently looked at the UE49KS8000 looked the best with its slender metal stands, thin screen surrounds and clean backs. Setup was very easy, assemble the stand, fix it to the back connect the connection hub and connect the aerial and sources to the connection hub, plug in the power and follow the simple menus. Be aware that due to the connection hub all HDMI and aerial sockets are not on the TV so long cables are not needed. The picture is very good with plenty of fine detail upscaling from HD to 4K is excellent, however a few SD channels on Freeview that use heavy picture compression can look a bit blocky. It’s worth spending some time adjusting the picture settings, do a search for KS8000 calibration on Google and there’s lots of useful information on how to do it. The sound was a big surprise as most thin TV’s I’ve heard sound lifeless; this is one of the better ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Picture, Fantastic Smart Hub, Good Sound Having owned a number of Samsung TVs, this has been a genuine jump in performance, design and looks. The TV copes with a number of different inputs and is able to upscale remarkably well. The sound is adequate however, the overall quality of the TV justifies additional outlay for a soundbar. The Smart Hub, is for once, smart. Easy to use and intuitive, combined with a solid wi-fi connection and broadband, the access to a wide range of online media is remarkable. The smart remote works extremely well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent high-end TV Superb picture quality. The source quality makes a big difference but this TV does as well as can be expected with SD. HD content is very good and once you step up to 4K /4KHDR it's simply stunning! Sound quality: OK. A separate sound system or soundbar is needed to get anything better than adequate sound quality. One disappointment: no analogue sound output, meaning I can't use my old 2.1 active speakers and sub. The UI is slick, intuitive and responsive - I'd been unsure if the Tizen UI would be any good but I've been pleasantly surprised. Most on-demand services are present, but the addition of Now TV would be nice. Build quality is superb, it feels high end. I'd been trying to decide between the KS8000 and it's slightly lower-spec sibling the KS7000. The decision came down to the design of the stand. Due to the limited width of my TV bench I went for the KS8000 which has a smaller footprint rather than the wide outboard "feet" on the KS7000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb picture quality The overall picture quality on all channels shows signicant improvement over previous plasma set I had which I thought was very good. On HD channels the quality is superb, the quantum display most certainly makes a difference and substantiates the claims made. Normally sound quality on slimmer profile TV's isn't great but it's actually not that bad on this set. However I had a Bose sound bar which I use which produces fantastic sound quality. While the price is high it's a good investment and when used in conjunction with 4K UHD DVD player, quality is really really good. Would most certainly highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good TV,bit let down by Rs Great TV, picture sd ok,HD great uhd really good The sound is better than other reviews have said. Had some difficulty in fixing the cover plate on the stand Easy set up,though shipped settings not to my liking, but easily adjusted, you can switch off logo light in the menu, and I wouldn't go for auto brightness to operate Great design, slim, 360 degree styling

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable Picture Quality I treated myself for Christmas as i had read all the reviews which were excellent. After some excellent advice and help i opted for this unit. After getting it home plugging it in the initial set up was really easy not like some tvs i have used before. The picture quality and sound are excellent and the universal remote is really neat along with the one connect box which ticks away nicely and even your sky can go through it hiding the box. The only one negative was trying to get my sonos system to go through it which took a lot of faffing about and trailing through the sonos help forum but i eventually got it figured out and now enjoy full control on all systems. All in all an outstanding Tv from Samsung.
