Enjoy the best of the net on your TV, with the Wi-Fi and app-equipped Sony KDL48WD653.

The top quality Full HD picture you'd expect from Sony - with X-Reality PRO

The Sony KDL48WD653 comes with their exclusive X-Reality PRO picture engine. This is designed to improve detail and reduce noise and is especially effective with Standard Definition TV. With X-Reality PRO everything you watch is crisper, more detailed and closer to Full 1080p HD than ever.

Motionflow XR200 for smooth motion
This Sony LED TV set gives 'reach in' depth, rich colours and, thanks to Motionflow XR200, smooth motion. The high quality Motionflow system works especially well with fast moving action, such as sports events, without the blur you can see with standard 50Hz TVs. From a Hollywood blockbuster to a Formula One race, XR200 makes a significant difference.

Connect up to your home network and enjoy YouTube and more
Featuring built-in Wi-Fi as well as an Ethernet connection, it's easy to connect this 48 inch TV to your home network. Once connected you can enjoy a range of 'smart' functions, including accessing web apps such as YouTube.

Screen Mirroring
Screen Mirroring lets you watch what's on your mobile or tablet, on the big screen - wirelessly (Screen Mirroring Miracast requires a Wi-Fi network and Miracast certified smartphone. Smartphone firmware update may be required).

Make the most of the HD screen with Freeview HD
With Freeview HD onboard you can make the most of the HD screen without needing any other set-top box. If you're not using Sky, Virgin, BT or another digital TV provider, Freeview HD is the way to go for free-to-access digital TV through your existing aerial. Compared to standard Freeview, images are far more detailed, with rich colour and enhanced realism.

Record digital TV with USB HDD REC
This flexible Sony TV has two USB sockets as standard. One of the USB sockets lets you connect up a USB device to use as a PVR (Personal Video Recorder). USB HDD REC allows one-touch and timer recording of a digital broadcast onto any USB HDD device up to 2TB in capacity. While viewing the show, simply press REC to start recording, which will automatically stop at the end of the programme.

Bright and crisp sound
Although no match for a soundbar or sound base, the Sony's sound system is one of the better built-in systems for TVs of this size. With Clear Phase Speaker technology, dialogue is crisp and easy to follow. The S-Master amplifier means it can fill a larger room with sound, too. To get the best out of the TV there're also both digital (optical) and analogue (3.5mm via headphone output) audio outputs, for connection to a soundbar or base.

Minimalist and elegant design
The TV unit's design is every bit as stylish and subtle as you'd expect from Sony, with long-lasting appeal. The KDL-48WD653 comes equipped with a minimal bezel and a unique stand with built-in cable management. Standing out from the competition, this combination of design elements makes the whole TV look cleaner and less intrusive in your room.

Set aside the tablet and watch your favourite online videos where they look best - on the Sony KDL48WD653's big screen.
