Complete system in a compact case
Within its stylish case, the Ruark R4 MK3 packs a lot in. As well as the DAB/FM radio there’s also a CD player. A Bluetooth connection lets you stream music from your smartphone or tablet or, if you prefer a wired connection there’s also a USB interface. With digital and analogue inputs, it’s also easy to connect up a wide range of other sources.
Powerful sound
Featuring a 2.1 audio system, with built-in subwoofer, the R4 MK3 punches hard. Matched to an 80-watt amplifier, the R4 MK3 has ample power to fill the largest rooms. For a more spacious sound, 3D enhanced mode gives an immersive feel to the music.
CD player
Unlike many other compact system, the R4 MK3 features a built-in CD player. This high quality player lets you play all your existing discs without the need to transfer them to a storage device. It also plays back MP3, AAC and WMA encoded music discs.
DAB and FM radio
With a choice of DAB, DAB+ and FM, the R4 is well equipped for tuning into a wide range of radio stations both here and abroad. DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) gives access to the widest range of stations in the UK, in crisp and clear digital sound quality. DAB+ is available across countries European countries and offers even higher levels of sound quality. In case your favourite stations aren't available in DAB, then this Ruark radio is also equipped with an FM tuner.
Wireless Bluetooth connection
High quality Bluetooth aptX connectivity gives you near CD quality sound, wirelessly. Connect up your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth music source and you can effortless stream your stored music or streaming music services such as Spotify and Tidal.
Connect it all
Perfect for giving your TV a boost in quality, the R4 MK3 features a digital optical input. Link it up and you’ll enjoy a boost to the sound that matches the best sound bases. Connect up two other sources, such as an MP3 player or even a turntable (with phono pre-amp built-in) and you’ve got the makings of a complete system. With the USB socket you can playback music on your smartphone while simultaneously charging it. A headphone socket is also standard.

First Rate piece of Kit
I've finally managed to buy something that really is as good as the claims made for it. I opted for a designated CD / DAB Radio player rather than the newer streaming models because it suits an 'oldie' like me with a large collection of CDs. 'Beautiful sound, especially through headphones or earbuds late at night, easy to set up and use, and rock-steady reproduction with no 'flutter' or hum through headphones. 'So pleased I spent the extra. You get what you pay for. This replaced a unit half the price of this - but which turned out to be indifferent by comparison; this is so much more than twice as good and gives me real pleasure. I cannot recommend the Ruark too highly. Service was great, ease of ordering a piece of cake, with delivery and the rest so easy. 'Nice people, a really good supplier, and a first rate product. 'Pleased as Punch. 10 out of 10.

Sounds Great
I bought this a month or so ago as I have so many cd's that I didn't play. CD player is easy to use and sounds very good, DAB and FM radio basically set up themselves however I cannot work out how to find radio 2 for my wife! the streaming/bluetooth was so easy and we are all pleased as a family with the sound and quality. The bass is better than expected and turned right down as I like a more trebley sound still floats in the background. Great price, looks good in the lounge and sounds very good in the room. Very pleased.

Amazing sound from this great looking music system
After a few weeks of owning the Ruark R4 Mk 3 I am extremely pleased with the music system. I already had the Ruark R1 Mk 3 and knew what a quality product that was. The R4 sounds fantastic both when using the radio and the CD. It looks great too with minimalist design no trailing speaker cables to worry about but is big enough to produce great stereo separation and amazing musical detail especially when using the CD. I was lucky enough to buy a R4 Mk 3 graded system in soft black which is in perfect condition and I’m sure it will provide many years of music enjoyment.

Great features
Excellent sound quality, sturdily built and really good looking. A large improvement on my now defunct Bose sound system which was very bass heavy( no control over it). I definitely recommend this Ruark sound system, five stars.

The radio is encased in a aturdy and well made box which has been very well made and given an attractive appearance. The radio is intuitive to use.
It was purchased from a small familly business in Abergavenny, people very experienced in the business. In fact they completed the warranty form electrnically becore posting the radio to my home address in Anglesey. So I am now the owner of a radio covered with a warranty provided by the manufacturers. Again a relatively small enterprize and reassuring

Very satisfying sound reproduction
Bought this unit on the day before Christmas 2020 and have been very happy with it. The sound quality, fidelity, and richness are perfectly adequate for our small apartment. We love the retro styling of the product and the ease of use. The read-out feature, telling what's playing is appreciated. Possibly a little larger remote would be good, as this one is a bit hard to keep track of.

I was surprised by the great sound produced.
Also, I do like the volume taken by and the design of the R4 Mk3. Beautiful.
Using the USB-input, it lacks only the possibility of using wav. or flac.
