Great sounding especially with rear
I purchased this soundbar Q800A and at the time got the free rear speakers SWA-9500S as well. Firstly just talking about the soundbar, it is definitely an improvement from the last Samsung Soundbar I had (HW-530S) which was a 2.1 channel. This is much clearer as it has the centre speaker. Unfortunately I have the Samsung 75inch Q60R TV so it doesn't utilise the Spacefit, the Q symphony or eARC however it still sounds great and works with just one remote which is very useful. I know people have complained about the bass that it is not as punchy on this soundbar however I beg to differ especially as you have the option to increase the bass level via the soundbar settings. Another useful option is the Airplay 2 as we all use it when playing music from our phones and its great to not have to fiddle with bluetooth pairing in order to play a quick song.
In regards to the eARC, this is where alternative solutions had to be made, for those who haven't tried Dolby Atmos, it really is amazing and a step up from standard 5.1 however as my TV doesn't support eARC I purchased an Nvidia shield and connected it to the HDMI in port on the soundbar, and connected the soundbar to the TV via the HDMI out port to the ARC port on my TV, this now works great and I can watch Dolby Atmos movies on Netflix, Disney+ and my Plex server. Please do check that your TV supports eARC before purchasing as I would recommend purchasing a eARC supported streaming device if not.
Rear speakers - I cannot explain just how much I recommend the SWA-9500S to go with this, honestly its like a night and day difference. they were originally very quiet however once we increased the volume on the soundbar settings (put the rear speakers and up firing speaking on the soundbar and rear speakers to 6) this made them amazing.
I have noticed some lip sync delays time to time, however this is resolved by pausing and playing the movie or just backing out of the video and opening it again. overall its a great device if configured well, bit fiddly at first but you get the hang of it and if you have a Samsung tv then its useful how everything just works. However the price is high for what it is especially if you are not getting the rear speakers free or at least on offer.
