Rated 3 out of 5 by These things have a short lifespan The value is lost when the thing dies. Bought a Panasonic instead. 26 May 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by you view is great A replacement for another faulty box (bought elsewhere). We love the functionality and ease of use but wish that they lasted more than two years. This time we have bought the richer sounds guarantee. 06 October 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ex-Service unit still faulty... I bought an Ex-service unit as the one I originally wanted (DTR-T2000) was out of stock. Unfortunately, this unit still had issues with it (taking ages to boot, locking up, unresponsive etc.) so I had to return it back. I don't think it would be fair to give it a bad review, as it is an exceptional case, hence the reason I've scored it fair. I must say Richer Sounds customer service is impeccable & the issue was immediately resolved very satisfactorily & I bought the DTR-T2000 when it was back in stock. 01 September 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Slim, easy to use box The first machine I bought failed to boot! Not a good start, but sorted out very quickly by Richer Sounds. My call re technical support resulted in taking back that machine and getting a replacement. This one works well. I had a Talk Talk box (which proved terribly unreliable), and the Humax box (also being YouView) is very similar in operation. No need to learn anything, easy set up, and a very neat unit. No problems so far (a week into using it) and a massive amount of storage on this 1TB unit. I appreciate too the extra connectors (audio for instance) and the ability to delay/advance the sound signal to sync better on screen or with my amplifier. Good box. 01 September 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has great features In the past I have used your Southampton shop but tried Guildford as it was nearer. I was served by Sam who was very helpful regarding the Humax box that I had to return. He went the extra mile for me and I would highly recommend this Branch. I will be using it in future. 20 August 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor reliability Purchased in September 2013 & I took out a 5 year warranty. I usually don't take out extended warranties but decided that if I was going to have problems with anything, it was likely to be this. It turned out to be a wise decision. The first failed ten months later. (It had stuck at the "please wait" stage). The second failed at 18 months - also at the "please wait" stage. The third box has just failed. This one is a different failure. The box's power light comes on but it won't respond to the remote or the power button. So it won't actually switch on. It's also excessively warm on top - even though the box is on its own, on an open shelf. So, it's off to Richer to get it repaired/replaced again. The two previous occasions the Richer staff were spot on and very helpful as usual. They gave me a loan machine and the repairs didn't take too long. Don't buy unless you take out an extended warranty & don't mind losing all your recordings each time it breaks. No confidence in it now. 17 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Now we have got used to using the Humax box we are extremely pleased with its reproduction. We have never used one of these types of recording devices before and once t was set up we found just by following the instructions it was quite easy to use. 10 August 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor reliability I bought this about 18 months ago. After 11 months, it failed completely and had to be replaced. Today, for no apparent reason, it went into "maintenance mode" and when I followed the recommended "software reset", it deleted all my previous recordings. It is now working again, but who knows for how long. I'm not sure whether the problems are due to the software and/or hardware, but it clearly is not very reliable. Apart from that, it works pretty well and the "on demand" feature is very useful when you want to go back to programmes which you missed (or which have been deleted from the hard drive by the last failure). However, compared to previous models it has limited functionality, the user interface is very clunky and the documentation is pathetic. 10 July 2015
