"Calling these the best in-ears we've heard is selling them short. They're among the finest headphones around, regardless of price or type." 'What Hi-Fi? magazine'. 5-star review. Tested at £2500.

The world's first electrostatic in-ear headphones

Electrostatic headphones deliver reference sound quality by using a far more sophisticated technology than conventional headphones. Instead of conventional drivers they use a virtually weightless diaphragm surrounded by an electrostatic field, generated by back plates. Producing this on a miniature scale has taken Shure eight years to develop but the sound quality proves the effort has been more than worthwhile.

Truly high resolution sound
Using such lightweight speaker diaphragms means the KSE1500 headphones can respond to signals faster than just about any other headphone - or speakers for that matter - currently available. What this means is reference quality realism with a sound that's utterly true to the recording. It also means that the subtlest details, such as a singer's breathe between words, can clearly be heard. In short, if the sound's on the recording then it'll be in your ears.

Supplied with dedicated amplifier/DAC
Like all electrostatic headphones, the KSE1500s come with an amplifier that can supply the necessary high current supply. The dedicated amplifier features a switchable input, letting you connect to your smartphone or computer via USB or your hi-fi via a conventional 3.5mm analogue input. The amplifier casing also contains a high quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). With 24-bit/96kHz resolution, the system conforms to the High-Resolution Audio standards verified by the Japan Audio Society.

Sound isolation
Superbly built and extremely comfortable to wear, the KSE1500s can be tailored to fit with a choice of no fewer than eight sizes and types of ear buds supplied. Use the snuggest fitting buds and you can expect sound isolation of up to 37dB, making these perform almost as well as active noise isolation headphones for blocking unwanted background noise.

Premium quality
From the anodised aluminium amp casing to the supplied leather case, everything about the KSE1500 headphones is made to the highest standards. A wide range of connectors are also included, making sure you have what you need to connect up to your choice of source.

Whatever your taste in music, with the Shure KSE1500 earphones, you've never heard it so good.
