The Q50a speakers use a key KEF technology to great effect - the Uni-Q drive unit. This involves positioning the treble unit within the throat of the woofer, creating a single point source for sound across the frequency spectrum. With all the Atmos sound effects coming from single point sources either side, the precision of sound is breath-taking.
Easy to position
Adding Dolby Atmos to your existing system is easier than you might think. With a Dolby Atmos or DTS-X equipped AV receiver you can use your existing 5.1 speaker set-up. Then simply add these speakers to the front channel left and right. They can be placed either on top of your existing front speakers or mounted on the wall just above. Once in place, the height of the soundstage grows hugely, with effects such as falling rain and helicopters flying overhead given incredible realism.
Styled to match KEF’s Q-Series
Finished to match the KEF Q-series speakers, the Q50a speakers are available in either matte black or white. The sleek finish makes them unobtrusive and the narrow width of just 180mm means they'll fit on top of all but the skinniest speakers.

Atmos speakers that work
I purchased these Atmos speakers after a recent upgrade in my AV amplifier setup as I realised I was now in a position to see genuine results from this addition. I am not disappointed at all and the speakers certainly deliver a nice clean up-firing sound. Performance does vary on soundtracks of the source you are watching but it is a clean sound and easily matches my Focal Aria setup

Great speakers
The speakers fit perfectly on top of my existing KEF floor standing speakers, bought with a Denon AVC X3800H Home Cinema Amp and the sound is superb

Amazing and worth every penny!
I brought this a couple of days ago and WOW!!! I had the whalfedale D300 3D’s and this is a far superior product. I use them as upfiring atmos speakers for my 7.1.2 system and as described they are loud and sonically place the sound in the sweet spot. Don’t hesitate on price, just tap the button and place the order… I did and I am really happy (and we are only four days in).

Look Fabulous and add a new dimension!
Being new to the whole Atmos experience at first I didn't really get it but when you get a programme/film who really utilise it then wow it's cool, these KEF's look great and build quality is better than my older KEF's just need to upgrade the rest now....

KEF Q50a excellence!
Recently decided to get these atmos speakers as I had a older KEF Q1s as height. So glad I did, it's a brilliant addition to the standard 5.1. I now have a complete package of KEF and it's a welcoming additional adding those atmos. It is subtle but definitely an improvement also. As always Richer Sounds have great advice. Thanks as always!

Very well made and impressive sound.
My first move to ATMOS and the KEF Q50a suited my needs as ceiling speakers were not an option for me. I’m very happy with the ATMOS experience it makes quite a difference. If anyone is considering doing the same thing I would recommend considering the Q50a.
