Fully immersive, 5.1 channel sound
Soundbars are great but there's nothing that can beat the sound of a separates AV system. With five channels of sound from a discrete amplifier, the HTR-2071 surrounds you in rich, low distortion sound – just like at the cinema. The amplifier also delivers a handy 70 watts per channel (6 ohms), meaning it can cope with even the punchiest-sounding blockbusters. There’s also an 'Extra Bass' function. This gives a deeper, richer bass response and works really well with small speakers and at lower volume levels.
Ready for HDR
For compatibility with high quality video formats, all the HDMI sockets are compatible with HDR Video, 4K/60p and BT.2020. Four HDMI inputs let you connect a Blu-ray, games console, set-top box and computer – enough for an entire home cinema system.
Make the most of your TV with UHD 4K Upscaling
If you’ve got a 4K TV then you can use to its full potential – whatever the source. Thanks to UHD 4K upscaling, any Full HD signal you input into the Yamaha is upscaled to UHD 4K. This means that HD TV and standard Blu-ray looks more detailed and lifelike than ever before.
Another advantage of going for AV separates is the inclusion of powerful surround sound processing. As well as decoding of both Dolby and DTS audio formats, the HTR-2071 features Yamaha's famous DSP Surround programs. With 17 modes from The Roxy Theatre to a concert Hall in Munich, the HTR-2071 gives a variety of acoustic settings for a unique sound. Added to this, four SCENE selections ensure that you always have the best setting when watching films or listening to music.
Connect up all your sources
With no fewer than four HDMI inputs, the HTR-2071 is flexible enough for the most complex AV systems. There’s also a wide range of other inputs for older sources you might have, like DVD and CD players. An optical, two coaxial and two RCA phono analogue inputs let you connect five audio sources – a complete Hi-Fis worth and taking the total number of inputs to nine.

High quality satellite speakers
The perfect bridge between small but poor-sounding satellite speakers and full-size hi-fi ones, the DX2 satellite speakers are the ideal size for quality home cinema. The two-way design features silk dome tweeters for detailed, super-smooth treble and woven polypropylene woofers for a spacious and dynamic-sounding mid-range. Sealed cabinets mean you’re free to place them close to a wall without compromising the sound quality.
Dedicated centre speaker
Rather than using an identikit fifth speaker for the centre channel, the DX-2 uses a dedicated speaker with the ideal twin woofer layout. This not only sits neatly under your TV but also offers a more spacious sound with vocals. Even when dialogue is set against a riotous soundtrack, the DX-2’s centre speaker makes it easy to follow.
Helping to give this Wharfedale speaker package real clout is a powerful subwoofer. Using a meaty 120 watt amplifier to drive a 20cm bass cone gives the DX-2 not just deep and powerful bass but also agile and dynamic response. Whether you're listening to music or watching films, the DX-2 subwoofer gives the package genuine full scale sound.
Smooth good looks – gloss and leather effect
It’s not just sound quality where the DX-2 scores highly, it’s with style, too. Smoothly curved and solid cabinets are finished in leather effect vinyl with gloss black fronts. The speaker drive units are highlighted with individual grilles – also handy for protecting against prying fingers. Thanks to their compact footprint, the speakers can easily be placed where conventional speakers won’t fit – such as on a mantelpiece or shallow shelf.
For an immersive 5.1 speaker system without the bulk, the DX-2 hits all the right notes.
